Brother
Michael’s
ordination as a Gnostic priest and elder is the
fruition of over ten years as a student and practitioner
in Sophian
lineage. His professional work as a credentialed educator
of schoolchildren of all ages and volunteer work with AIDS
hospice, gay men’s groups and arts organizations hone
a dynamic oral presentation of Gnosticism. Trained as a
fine artist in Northern California and Florence, Italy,
his discovery of the spiritual practice of art has led to
his formation of Sophia Guild, a Gnostic arts collaborative
with a virtual gallery hosted in this website. Most recently,
Gnosis of the Spiritual Sun, an icon cycle of the eight
High Feasts of the solar year, is the first of his many
privately published projects visually recording Sophian
oral tradition. Currently, he is discoursing monthly in
Sacramento, California, sharing how the ancient roots of
Sophian Tradition speaks wholistically to contemporary life
in a progressive and healing way.
