Sophian Circle Leader/ South Africa
Sophia's spiritual search began at an early age. It was a search that was mainly inner directed through her dreams. Although born into the Dutch Reformed Church (NederDuitse Gereformeerde Kerk) during the Apartheid era, her search led her to Shamanism, especially in context of African Shamanism, through her love of nature and all the people of her country. In 2006 she was led to the Sophian Fellowship and knew that she found her spiritual home which wove together all her her beliefs. Inspired by her study of the living Sophian Gnostic Tradition and the Kabbalah led to her decision to form a study group affiliated with the Sophian Fellowship.
Sophia worked for more than twenty years as an Art Director, Wardrobe Mistress, Stylist, and Props Master in the South African Film Industry. She paints, and does furniture renovation, specializing in woodgraining and marbling. Currently she teaches spiritual crafting, visualization, and inner-directed body movement. She lives in Somerset West, South Africa with her husband, son and daughter.
