Susan Denham
Sophian Circle Leader/ New South Wales, Australia

A deep connection with the natural world, our Earth Mother, has sustained Susan through the decades in which she struggled to find spiritual teachings that resonated with her inner self, her spiritual heart’s home. Then, through the gift of Grace she came upon +Tau Malachi and the Sophian Gnostic Fellowship and it is since that encounter she believes her life really began.

The flow of this movement within her life was indeed great as during this time she experienced a personal healing. So clearly, her new spiritual path lay before her. She also wanted to share this new theosophy of the Sophian Tradition with others. Having been an activist in the environmental and women’s rights movements for most of her life she had experienced all of the victories and disappointments that come with such involvements. But here, within the potential of the Light Transmission, she perceived the lasting answers as to how we could truly restore and resurrect this Good Earth.

Along with Helen, her life-partner of 28 years, she has given her heart to working with Mother Earth on their little piece of paradise, a small farm on the South Coast of New South Wales. Planting and nurturing their much loved trees and flower beds is a way of life for both, a life in which Jack Russell companions, Dougal and Alice, share in full.

Originally working as a primary school teacher in the NSW state system, Susan made literacy her specialisation, working with both adults and children in private enterprise and government positions. Her career profile is now multifaceted and includes establishing and operating a plant nursery, working as a personal fitness trainer, Chi Kung instructor, educational program’s administrator, and most recently, bookshop owner and antiques dealer.

Apart from her original teaching qualifications she has a Graduate Diploma in Literacy Education (with Distinction) and a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Nutrition.

A personal student of +Tau Malachi for four years, she is the leader and teacher of the Circle of the Sacred Dance, the Australian branch of the Ecclesia Pistis Sophia. Helen also is an initiate of the Ecclesia Pistis Sophia and her work for the Circle includes administration and organising outreach programs.

If asked to summarise how she views their participation within the Ecclesia Pistis Sophia, Susan would respond:

“To answer that we only need look to the example set by our spiritual companions in the Sophia Fellowship, and the guiding hand of the lineage holder +Tau Malachi. All those committed to the Great Work share the one understanding and purpose. The inspired words of Kahlil Gibran best express this for us:-

“Love is a word of Light, written by a hand of Light, upon a page of Light.”
