Re-incarnation

#1 Postby elizabethduval » Thu Oct 16, 2014 11:09 am

Shalom!

I have had some contemplations over the past week or so about reincarnation. The statement below from the forum on "Job" has answered many questions regarding karma, in particular within families. Tau Malachi wrote:

It is true, some things that transpire in our lives are the direct expression and playing out of the karma of our soul, whether generated in this life or in previous lives, and there are, indeed, certain movements in our lives that are, in effect predestined from the outset based upon the karmic continuum of our soul. There is, however, the influence and intersection of the karmic continuum of those around us, in family, society, as well as the larger collective of the world, and the influences of the age. Then, with this, there is the influence of hidden, spiritual forces, and our experience is the weave of all of this, and more. If we consider Job, if we account him as a righteous person, and we consider that it is through the sins or negativity of his children that suffering comes upon him, then, in effect, though blameless he endures the sorrow and suffering of his family. This, though, does in effect become ‘his karma,’ for in his relationships and life he has taken this upon himself. Interconnections and interactions like this are going on all of the time between souls, and they are not just a sharing of suffering, but also blessing; hence, these children who enjoyed much feasting due to their father’s merit and work.

My contemplations of reincarnation goes hand in hand with the above teaching, and has led me to ask questions regarding incarnations.

I have heard it said that we always incarnate, and that every day is a new incarnation on some level because we have grow and experience within the continuum every day. Yet- there is also the reincarnation of "past lives" on a different level. What I am hearing is that incarnations have many different levels within this "matrix" or "weaving". How do we gain knowledge of past incarnations, or past lives in order to grow in that knowledge? And how can we use this awareness, this knowledge specifically for the tikkune of our families? Even though we are all inter-related and interconnected, can we use the knowledge of past incarnations in a specific way? As in a 'mission" specific to our own current life? These are questions arising during my contemplations. What can be said of reincarnation...past lives, etc that might ground these questions?

Thank you for the many insights already gleaned throughout these forums.

With deep gratitude!

Shalom Sister Elizabeth!

I much appreciate your questions regarding re-incarnation!

If I might share what is presently recalled of our teachings, though correction or clarification is requested.

I recall it being spoken that all the knowledge and understanding that we need for tikkune can be found in the present life we are living. There is no need to know of our past lives, for what we are presently called to deal with will arise in this life, in our nefesh, and in the circumstances and relationships that arise in our life. If memory is correct, it has even been said,"You want to know about your past lives? Then simply look at your present life!"

It is also said that knowledge of past lives naturally arises in our journey to enlightenment, which brings to mind that as our heart and mind expand, as our awareness and love expands, self is not excluded!

I hope this is helpful, Sister. Perhaps others will have more to share.

With gratitude,

Sheryl

Shalom Sister Sheryl!

Thank you for these insights sister. I have also heard that" if we want to know of our past lives, then we need to look at our present lives", and I thank you for this reminder. And- I do understand that with spiritual growth more is revealed to us as we journey the path. Perhaps along this journey with deep prayer and asking these questions to God- more is revealed to us that may help in our spiritual growth? Tau Malachi mentions in the forum on Job that we should come to God as a friend, bringing all to God, and asking questions in boldness.

With gratitude,
Elizabeth

Shalom dear Sisters!

What a marvelous question that is being asked here!
So many contemplations are possible here regarding the possibilities of portion and the origination of spiritual gifts.

I post the following guidance and wisdom from Tau:

"At the outset of our journey on the Gnostic Path first and foremost we want to acquire self-knowledge in this life, focusing upon our present experience, and cultivating a spiritual life and daily spiritual practice, building our interior life through prayer and meditation, going within and living within, open to the Holy Light from above. As our spiritual life and practice develops, and more and more we experience higher, expanded states of consciousness, and direct spiritual and mystical experiences unfold, the Holy Spirit may reveal many things to us in due season, including an awareness of past lives and awareness of our exchange of sparks with others souls, all as ordained by El Elyon, the Supreme.

It is not that we go looking for this with ego-grasping or vital demand, but rather it is more of a side effect of expanding consciousness and the realization of the inner aspects of the soul of light in us. If we were to go looking, especially early on, instead of true perceptions of past lives we are more likely to attract deceiving spirits or conjure fantasies. However, if we will cultivate an ever deepening spiritual life and practice, as we enter into direct experience of the Light Continuum, as we grow and mature, and are ready, the Holy Spirit will reveal many things to us, giving us knowledge, understanding and wisdom of many mysteries, including mysteries of the transmigration of souls.

If we are seeking such knowledge, then as in the way of the navi, the seer, we will wish to tend to a continuum of self-purification, for to have true sight, true hearing and intuition, all that is false and unreal must be shed, and so all klippot of the mental and vital being – there is a need for the circumcision of the heart and purification of the mind from self-grasping, desire and fear."

And further:

"There are no practices that directly aim at the remembrance of past lives in the tradition, but rather there are practices for the awakening of the soul and self-realization in Christ that may bring such knowledge, if that is our portion. The more the soul of light awakens in Christ, the more there is all kinds of remembrance and knowledge that comes. What is revealed can be quite wild and wonderful, in fact, truly awesome!

First and foremost seek Christ, and seek the full reception of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Light from above – having this Light-presence and Light-power in us everything else will be added to us, just as when we serve the kingdom of heaven above all else, so everything we need in this world is given to us."

Perhaps this will add further to this discussion, I pray it may be helpful.

Grace and peace to you in Hayyah Yeshua!

Our neshamah (heavenly soul), and the inner aspects of our soul, yechidah (divine spark) and hayyah (light-power), abide in the eternal realm and Holy One, and as such neshamah holds the knowledge of all previous incarnations. As we know and understand, a nefesh (vital soul) and ruach (intelligence) is generated with each incarnation, and thus there is a different person and life, unique and individual, serving as the vehicle of our greater soul in each incarnation. The nefesh and ruach generated corresponds with the development and evolution of our soul, and the realization of our soul, and neshamah corresponds with the being of this becoming, that which is being actualized and realized in this process of creative evolution or becoming. Neshamah is within and behind our nefesh and ruach, and therefore there is knowledge of our previous incarnations in us, and it is possible for us to access that knowledge. As we know from certain experiences of the afterlife, understanding that neshamah abides in the eternal realm, not only is there knowledge of past incarnations, but also future incarnations; hence, there is knowledge of the greater evolution and journey of the soul through countless cycles of reincarnation past and future.

This knowledge of incarnations is not isolate to those of our soul, but may also reach into knowledge of the incarnations of other souls as we see with great tzaddikim who, in the Shekinah and Holy Spirit, are able to ‘see’ past and future incarnations of others, and able to see the tikkunim of souls, their healing and realization as the Holy One intends it.

The ability to access this knowledge, just like wonderworking, prophecy, healing and such, is a gift of the Holy Spirit; likewise, it comes from the reintegration and unification of ruach and nefesh with neshamah, and the corresponding expansion of consciousness, the experience of Christ Consciousness, or God Consciousness (Gadlut Mochin).

As with many great spiritual gifts this is not a common gift, and if we receive such a gift there is good reason, it is for the sake of our spiritual work, the kingdom of heaven and glorification of God. It is not a gift we will all receive in full, but nevertheless, as St. Paul teaches us, it is good to pray for greater spiritual gifts, and to always seek a better resurrection, and so we do – we pray to receive such gifts from the Spirit of God, and we pray with passion, yearning, to have greater knowledge of Christ and God, and to be of greater service, greater benefit.

Understand that while this is an uncommon gift, and relatively few among the anointed have full access to this knowledge, it is common for the Spirit to move and reveal such knowledge to us as there is call and need. Thus, through opening to this possibility and through prayer it is entirely possible, even likely, that we may be granted some knowledge of previous incarnations that might help us remember and fulfill our purpose and work here, in this life.

It is also true that this life is a weave and manifestation of the karmic continuum of our soul from previous lives, and as such, if we learn how to pray and meditate, and look into it as a ‘silent witness,’ we may, in effect, gaze into past lives reflected in this life. Likewise, if we ponder our next life, understanding that we are weaving, creating, that incarnation here and now, today in this life, so we may gaze and look to see where we are, and where we are going, and consider if it is where we wish to be or go.

This corresponds with the teaching and practice, “You are where your thoughts are, consider your thoughts and look to see if they are where you want to be.”

When we pray and meditate daily, and we engage in such practices as this, applying the teachings we receive to the various activities of our lives, we are co-creating the conditions for the Holy Spirit to enter into full action, and for the reception of greater Habad (wisdom, understanding and knowledge) and greater spiritual gifts.

Now, it is true, it is possible to fulfill the soul’s ultimate purpose in any incarnation, and it is possible to engage in a full reintegration with the Light Continuum and Infinite One, bringing incarnation as we understand it to cessation; hence, it is possible that any given incarnation could be our relative ‘last.’ This can and does happen, and in fact, there is great benefit to all creatures, all sentient beings, when a soul passes into this relative fruition of enlightenment and liberation; there is a great force of salvation, liberation, that becomes manifest in the matrix of creation, the entirety. Is this the only fruition, however, or necessarily the ultimate goal of creative evolution and enlightenment? No, it is not. It is one movement of supernal and divine being, or enlightened being, among many, and what it is isn’t what our ego, or little self, would conceive. In the egoistic condition, the desire that this be one’s ‘last life’ is the manifestation of self-cherishing, and an array of attachments and aversions in self-cherishing. Understand, when this has been the desire of souls of lofty grades, those realized in previous lives, it has been for the sake of delivering other souls, and wishing for the cessation of sorrow and suffering, and the dawn of true happiness for all; hence, it is not from a desire to escape or avoid anything, but rather it is from love and compassion, and a desire for self-offering, or to be of true benefit to others. If we have such zeal, and such force of desire for full enlightenment and liberation in this way, praise God, for as the manifestation of love it is, as St. Paul teaches, the greatest gift from God! Hallelu Yah!

If we look into neshamah, our supernal and heavenly soul, we will find that its deepest desire is to love and to abide in unification with the Infinite One; it’s deepest desire is a complete self-offering, and in this complete cessation, reintegration, in the One.

Now, concerning the tikkune, the healing and realization of the souls of one’s family, or any other people in your life, first and foremost your concern is the tikkune of your own soul, for this in itself naturally facilitates the tikkune of others around you, and in your own spiritual realization in Christ you are empower to be of greater service or benefit to others. Remember, the tikkune of your soul is your part of the tikkune of the world, and the tikkune of the world of angels, and the tikkune of the world of souls, and the tikkune of the World of Holy Sefirot. Thus, the tikkune of the souls of others is facilitated through the tikkune of your own soul, and as the tikkune of your own soul is accomplished you will release a great force of light, of healing and liberation, in the matrix of creation, and many, many living spirits and souls will be blessed, well beyond the small group of souls manifest as your family in this life.

In all of this, of course, we are speaking about self-knowledge, understanding that to acquire knowledge of Christ and God, one must first know oneself.

These are a few thoughts I’d share on this Shabbat, and now I shall rest in the Lord, and wait upon the Spirit of the Lord, and see where our discussion might go next.

God bless you and God keep you! Amen.

Shabbat Shalom!

Shabbat Shalom, Dear Tau and Friends!

Thank you, Sister Star, for sharing the lineage's teachings on this topic. And thank you, Tau Malachi, for expanding our discussion. Praise to the Queen of Shabbat for these delights!

While reading what you have offered us, dear Tau, it comes to mind that our own soul's tikkune is the unweaving and reweaving of our portion of the karmic matrix, and in so doing we are reaching into the past energetic weavings arising in our interactions with others - in this life and in past lives, once done in ignorance, and reweaving them in increasing degrees of Habad (knowledge, understanding, and wisdom).

And then a very simple thought came to mind:

What was woven in ignorance - seeking and desiring for self alone, across multiple incarnations, is now being rewoven in gradations of self offering. And so simply considering our current relationships, pondering and seeking in our relations for the benefit of others, willing to offer self - just this simple sentiment results in a reweaving, bringing Light into Darkness. Just the simple desire, simple seeking, to receive for the benefit of others, is reweaving what had been woven in seeking in our relations for self alone. And in this reweaving, a greater tikkune for self and for others is accessed and manifested. Self offering itself being a gateway.

Praise to the Mercy of El who brings Light, illumination and healing, into darkness, past, present and future.

With gratitude,

Sheryl

Shabbat Shalom Tau Malachi and friends!

Thank you all for your wonderful wisdom and insights gleaned from this discussion. There a few things that Tau Malachi shared that stand out to me most of all:

The ability to access this knowledge, just like wonderworking, prophecy, healing and such, is a gift of the Holy Spirit; likewise, it comes from the reintegration and unification of ruach and nefesh with neshamah, and the corresponding expansion of consciousness, the experience of Christ Consciousness, or God Consciousness (Gadlut Mochin).

Then coupled with this teaching :

Now, concerning the tikkune, the healing and realization of the souls of one’s family, or any other people in your life, first and foremost your concern is the tikkune of your own soul, for this in itself naturally facilitates the tikkune of others around you, and in your own spiritual realization in Christ you are empower to be of greater service or benefit to others. I am hearing differently, or in a new way that “the ability to look into past /future lives is a “spiritual gift”, and a rare one at that. And I am hearing how all spiritual gifts come about through the co-creating conditions for the Holy Spirit to enter into full action. This is wonderful news to hear because I am hearing also that knowing oneself is in the healing of oneself. And…I am hearing that as we are co-working with the Holy Spirit on our own tikkune- then there is tikkune for family and others. I have heard this before but now I am seeing this weaving in a new light, where there is a “bridging” of this gap in lack of the TOTAL awareness of onself, where this tikkune is taking place constantly. Not only the tikkune of our own self, but others is constantly taking place. This is wonderful news! It reminds of other teachings from the Gospels that God sees us in perfection already.

In this understanding I am also hearing that if a person has a heartfelt desire for knowledge of past lives, as long as it is not a desire for self grasping, but for the love and desire for tikkune for others, then it is possible and could even be very helpful in a persons understanding of the souls mission for others. And perhaps the Holy Spirit may even “stir” this passion to know in a person whose heart and motives are right and true, just as other spiritual gifts are “stirred” by the Holy Spirit, as there is a “call or need”.

This reminds that when we abide in the Holy Spirit, and take all of our desires and needs in prayer, prayers are always answered. The key in what was spoken is that all is given “where there is a call or need”. I am hearing an answer to my contemplations and questions and rest in this.

With love and deep gratitude for what has been shared by all!

Shalom Sister Elizabeth!

Praise be She whom opens our minds and hearts to greater and greater understanding!

Something you shared, dear Sister, brought a delight:

Not only the tikkune of our own self, but others is constantly taking place. This is wonderful news! It reminds of other teachings from the Gospels that God sees us in perfection already.

As the Perfect gazes upon us, that which is perfect within is drawn out, increasingly manifested in us and through us, we being made perfect, whole, mature.

There is great Power - healing and illumination - in the Gaze of God!

Hallelu-Yah!

Thank you, Elizabeth, for sharing your growing understanding.

With gratitude,

Sheryl

Grace and peace to you in Hayyah Yeshua, the Risen Messiah! Amen.

Indeed, self-knowledge, self-awareness, is most essential, for it is the key to enlightenment and liberation, or conscious unification with the Infinite One. It is through self-knowledge that we acquire all other manifestations of knowledge, understanding and wisdom, and acquire true knowledge of Reality as It Is and God as God Is.

Understand, the self arising from moment to moment corresponds with influences of the karmic continuum of the soul, the state of the mind, heart and body, and influences of the greater karmic matrix within which self is arising; hence the self arising is the expression of karma, is karma. To have knowledge of oneself, then, is to have knowledge of the karmic continuum of the soul and the greater karmic matrix (creation), and if we consider it, the entire point to retrieving memories of previous lives is to acquire knowledge of this karmic continuum, for this knowledge is integral to self-transformation and self-realization, or the tikkune of the soul and creation.

With regard to our aspirations and prayers for various manifestations of spiritual knowledge and power, it is very important to understand the principle of call and need, and to understand that what we receive from the Spirit of God and angels corresponds with what we need to fulfill the purpose and mission in this life, as well as the deeper purpose and mission of our soul that spans all incarnations. The truth is we do not need all knowledge and power, or all spiritual gifts, but rather what we need is what corresponds with our unique essence, our unique individuality, and the spiritual work and tikkune of creation that is given to us. Whatever we need, though, in terms of knowledge and power, or spiritual gifts, we may be assured that we will receive as a gift, or discover as we progress in the Gospel that it is woven into us, that it is innate to our soul, our being.

Here we must say, in Christ we are lacking nothing, and that we will receive everything we need if in Christ we return to God and we ask in the fullness of faith.

These were a couple of thoughts I was inclined to add.

Shalom Aleichem!

Shalom Tau Malachi!

Thank you for your further clarification. Praise Ma, for with your initial response and teaching on this post I have heard in a different way and my contemplations and prayers are directed in a different and new way. I am understanding that karma plays such an important part of who we are and I am hearing what the meaning of self-knowledge is really becoming aware of our patterns, habits, fears and such so that in co working with the Holy Spirit, we uplift and transform these patterns of karma that have been weaved in our lives. In this I am hearing also a new way of understanding what the word "salvation" means.

I believe I have been somewhat confused in thinking that I would know much more about myself if I knew who I was in past lives..but now I am seeing- that really- I am who I was in a past life. Now- the important thing is to work NOW, in this moment and every moment to uplift, purify and transform THIS life. This has been a shift in thinking for me in so many different dimensions! What stands out to me most of all though is, as I had stated before- it is so wonderful to know that healing "rays out" to my family and loved ones and all humanity as my life is transformed. So, instead of me having to "find a solution" so to speak in order to help others- the solution IS the tikkune of my own life, my own soul. I have finally heard this, and it is such wonderful news! And it is also good news to know that God knows our needs (even before we ask). And as you stated so beautifully:

Whatever we need, though, in terms of knowledge and power, or spiritual gifts, we may be assured that we will receive as a gift, or discover as we progress in the Gospel that it is woven into us, that it is innate to our soul, our being.

Here we must say, in Christ we are lacking nothing, and that we will receive everything we need if in Christ we return to God and we ask in the fullness of faith.

We lack nothing! Oh what Good News! Amen!

May we all come to self-realization and to the knowledge that we lack NOTHING! Christ is ALL, in ALL!

Elizabeth
