The Holy Spirit: A Living Presence (Romans 8:26-27)

The Holy Spirit: A Living Presence

“Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with signs too deep for words. And God, who searches the heart, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints [tzaddikim] according to the will of God”
(Romans 8:26-27).

In the Kabbalah we often speak of the companionship of the Holy Shekinah, and likewise the companionship of the Holy Spirit, and therefore we speak of the Holy Shekinah being with us, and the Spirit being with us, as though speaking of a distinct person - a living presence and intelligence, a conscious force; and this exactly is our experience of the Spirit, a distinct Living Presence with us, which has a mind of its own, as it were, and is a fiery intelligence with a view of all things from heaven and the Light Continuum, the eternal realm.

As we know, the “Lord is the Spirit,” and the Spirit moves with, in and through all things, and yet the Spirit is above and beyond all things, inseparable from the Infinite One (Ain Sof), and in the Messiah there is an anointing of the Perfect Light and the Spirit, and there are those who are able and willing to receive the Spirit and those who are not able or willing. When a person goes within and lives within, having faith in the Messiah, and they repent and open to the Holy Spirit with conscious intention, and they receive their anointing with the Perfect Light and the Spirit, the Spirit comes to dwell in them and is with them; hence, there is a distinct Living Presence with them, a Divine Being-Consciousness-Force.

Now, receiving the Holy Light and Spirit from above, being reborn from above, we co-labor with the Spirit to align and reintegrate all aspects of our soul, our being and consciousness, with the Holy Light and Spirit, and when we do we may embody the Spirit in full, and merge with the Spirit, just as our Elder Brother, Adonai Yeshua did; and yet, although our ruach, our spirit or intelligence, may merge with the Spirit, and our nefesh, our vital soul, may be pervaded by the Spirit, at the same time the Spirit of God remains distinct and individual, and the Spirit surrounds us and extends beyond us into the heavens and the Infinite. Indeed, for the Spirit of the Infinite is infinite, immeasurable, and is a Divine Presence and Power greater than ourselves and greater than the angels and heavens, a distinct Divine Being-Consciousness-Force.

The Lord is the Spirit, and the Lord is with us as the Spirit. Therefore in the Gospel of St. John Adonai Yeshua comforted his disciples, saying to them that when he departed he would send the Spirit, the “Advocate,” to them, who would remind them of all the teachings they had received, and lead them into all truth, knowledge of the mysteries and God beyond what Yeshua had been able to share with them. This continues to this day, for when we go down into the living waters and rise up and receive our anointing, or we experience something of the Light Transmission with our Tzaddik, we receive the Spirit (Ruach Elohim, Ruach Yahweh), and from that day forward the Spirit is with us, and we abide in the companionship of the Shekinah of Messiah - a distinct Living Presence.

According to the Gospel of St. Philip it is the anointing with the Holy Light and Spirit that makes us Christian, which is to say like Christ, the Messiah. The gospel says that if we go down into the water and rise up receiving nothing, as yet we are not Christian, but taking the name we have borrowed it, and what is borrowed must be returned, but if we are anointed, receiving the Holy Light and Spirit, we are Christian, receiving the name as a gift from God, and a gift we do not have to return, but we can keep as our own. In this we may understand that the anointing with the Holy Light and Spirit is everything, and that baptism corresponds with purification and preparation for the reception of the Spirit of the Lord, the Living Presence of the Lord.

When we receive the Spirit we must engage in an active and dynamic surrender to the Spirit, and we must co-labor with the Spirit to root out all klippot, all barriers to the divine action of the Spirit, letting go of all darkness, all negativity, cleaving to the Holy Light and Spirit, and the greater our surrender, the greater the movements and manifestation of the Holy Spirit with us, and likewise the Holy Light. Receiving our anointing the Holy Spirit is with us, but as we progress in the Gospel with the help of the Spirit we experience a greater and greater manifestation of the Holy Shekinah and Spirit with us, naturally so, for more and more our ruach and nefesh, or our person and life, merges with the Shekinah of the Messiah and is taken up by the Spirit.

As we know, there is something of a dance in our companionship with the Holy Shekinah and Spirit, for at times we merge with the Spirit completely, and are taken up by the Spirit, and are inseparable from the Spirit, but at other times, on an experiential level, in effect the Spirit is separate and distinct from us, and may act independently of us, all as God wills. This corresponds with our experience of running and returning between expanded and restricted states of consciousness, and with various actions in response to what’s happening in the moment, and the play of movement and rest in the Spirit.

Now in our passage St. Paul teaches us that the Spirit is our constant companion if we abide in our faith and cleave to the Lord, and he teaches us that the Spirit helps us in our weakness, which is to say during times of restricted consciousness, and when we confront barriers that through our own knowledge and power we are not able to overcome. Thus, regardless of our state of consciousness, even when severely restricted, and regardless of what’s happening, even in the midst of great tribulation, the Spirit is with us and will help us, and through the Spirit we will endure and overcome, we will experience the victory and glory that is in the Risen Messiah.

All spiritual gifts, such as prophecy, healing, wonderworking, and so on, are in the Spirit and come from the Spirit, and are movements of the Spirit, and whether or not we are given a specific gift to carry, in that the Spirit is with us, if we abide in faith and love, and cleave to the Lord, if there is a need and God wills it, that spiritual gift can manifest with us - any spiritual gift can manifest with us. Understand, all such things are the manifestation of the power of God, the Almighty (El Shaddai), and they are not done through our power, but through the Spirit of God. The same is true of all holy actions, such as prayer, we cannot accomplish them through our knowledge and power alone, but it is through the knowledge and power of the Spirit, the Living Presence of God, that they are accomplished.

Truly, as St. Paul teaches, in ourselves, according to our finite, mortal knowledge and understanding, and our own power, we do not know how to pray, or preach, and such, but holy actions such as these can only be accomplished with the help of the Spirit; we do need to engage in the practice of prayer and meditation, and whatnot, and strive for deeper prayer and meditation, but it is through the Spirit that our prayers have power and ascend, and it is through the Spirit that the depth of meditation is experienced and realized.

We may say the same of preaching, or giving teachings, for if there is light-power, energy-intelligence, within and behind our words - an energetic communication that brings knowledge and understanding, and wisdom, it is the Spirit inspiring and illuminating our thoughts and words, and the Spirit is moving with, in and through them, therefore they have true power, true force as they are spoken and heard.

In this, perhaps, you may understand that apart from the Lord, the Spirit, there is no actual evolution and realization of souls - no enlightenment and liberation; truly, apart from the Spirit there is no life, for like a corpse we are blind, deaf and dumb, and cannot taste or smell or feel anything of the spiritual world and heaven. This is why Yeshua Messiah teaches us that we must be reborn from above, of water and the Spirit, for it is through the Spirit that our soul is awakened and we have life and light in us. Praise the Lord!

May we cleave to the Lord and abide in our faith, and so abide in the good companionship of the Shekinah of Messiah and Holy Spirit! Amen.

Shalom Aleichem!

Greetings in the light of the Holy Shekinah!

"When we receive the Spirit we must engage in an active and dynamic surrender to the Spirit, and we must co-labor with the Spirit to root out all klippot, all barriers to the divine action of the Spirit, letting go of all darkness, all negativity, cleaving to the Holy Light and Spirit, and the greater our surrender, the greater the movements and manifestation of the Holy Spirit with us, and likewise the Holy Light. Receiving our anointing the Holy Spirit is with us, but as we progress in the Gospel with the help of the Spirit we experience a greater and greater manifestation of the Holy Shekinah and Spirit with us, naturally so, for more and more our ruach and nefesh, or our person and life, merges with the Shekinah of the Messiah and is taken up by the Spirit."

Thinking of the rooting out of all klippot the temptation of Lord Yeshua comes to mind:
"Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.” But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Then the devil took him to the holy city and set him on the pinnacle of the temple and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, “‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and “‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’” Jesus said to him, “Again it is written, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’” Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to him, “All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.’” Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and were ministering to him." (Matthew 4:1-11)

Lord Yeshua completely surrenders to the Holy Spirit to live from within, only to do what is right in the Spirit. What stands out to me is the clarity with which the Lord understands the truth of the Holy Shekinah. After he became the Messiah the Living Presence was always with him, yet it seems there were also moments of a more restricted and a more expanded consciousness. And as you promise us, Tau Malachi, that the Spirit is always with us if we have faith, so it was with Yeshua even in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the Cross.

Praise be to the Shekinah of the Messiah!

Shabbat Shalom,
Martina

Shabbat Shalom!

Praise to the Holy Shekinah for this lovely teaching and reminder! Thank you Tau Malachi for sharing this guidance!

I am appreciating the verse from the Gospel of Phillip that is drawn out in this thread. In recent studies of this particular Gospel, it was noticed much is said surrounding the mystery of Baptism. In fact this Gospel paints a wonderful picture of Baptism, where in, more and more it is being revealed a mystery pointing to Baptism being exactly what you have shared Tau, " In this we may understand that the anointing with the Holy Light and Spirit is everything, and that baptism corresponds with purification and preparation for the reception of the Spirit of the Lord, the Living Presence of the Lord."

I am hopeful this question remains in context of this thread. It regards two verses in Phillip that feel to very much resonate with your sharing. In one verse we hear,

"By perfecting the water of baptism, Yeshua emptied it of death. We go into the water but not into death, so we are not poured out into the wind of the world. Whenever that wind blows, winter comes. When the Holy Spirit breathes, summer blows in"

In another verse we hear,

"The living water is a body. We must put on the living human. When you go into the water, you strip naked and put on the living human"

Recently in a chat discourse a companion mentioned something very beautiful regarding these 'waters' and what they may be. He asked about the waters being life itself. We explored the idea of the importance of embodiment, and that through these 'waters', through 'life' there must be a purification within which an invitation of the Spirit begins to dawn. I am hearing an idea that this Living Presence must have a vessel that is worthy of the expression of Spirit. That often, the reason Spirit might not move through and take up a personality and life display is it is "dead", as Gospel of Phillip points out. Also, when it is felt that the Spirit is there sometimes and not others, perhaps we are flashing in and out of what is alive, in the Spirit, and what is dead, not in the Spirit? It must be said, it seems as though the Spirit can be there even in silence. It feels there is a difference between the silence of the Holy Spirit, verses the withdrawal of the the Holy Spirit? It seems the Holy Spirit can only move in situations and circumstance that is "living" hence exist in something of the Light Continuum, otherwise the movement would be something akin to being "poured out into the wind of the world". Perhaps more can be said of this "living" a life that is living, hence alive, hence attractive to the Holy Spirit, a life that is "summer".

Thank you for this teaching!

Holy One, may many be blessed this day with life, a life that attracts and invites your Holy Shekinah!

Shabbat Shalom,

Grace and peace to you in Hayyah Yeshua!

“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46).

These words of Adonai Yeshua on the cross pierce the heart, and they hold deep wisdom, as well as a message of hope, for as we know, regardless, the Spirit was with the Master even though, because of his physical condition and diminished capacity, he lost awareness of the Spirit; certainly so, for dying on the cross he was raised from the dead in glory and power, and humbling himself he was exalted and enthroned at the right hand of God, given the full power of Mercy and Judgment. Truly, the Spirit was with him and became manifest as him, and so also the Spirit is with us, even in those times we are unaware of the Living Presence with us.

Understand, however enlightened a soul may become, nevertheless there is an experience of continually changing states of consciousness, moving between higher, more expanded states of consciousness and ordinary, restricted states of consciousness, and likewise, with this, although the radiance of our higher soul, neshamah, may pervade our ruach and nefesh, if and when our health and physical condition is compromised, in effect the radiance of neshamah may not be able to shine from within us and may be withdrawn. The Spirit too may not be able to fully pervade and indwell us, and yet, nevertheless, the Spirit remains present with us, as near as our breath and the beat of our heart, and although at such a time we might not be aware of the Spirit, or our direct experience of the Living Presence may seem to cease, nevertheless the Spirit is with us. “God is always with you,” and therefore you must abide in your faith and inwardly cleave to the Lord.

As Yeshua did, however, we must abide in our experience and turn to God in prayer, open and honest about what’s happening in our experience, crying out to God whenever it seems that God is not with us, asking that the Spirit might intercede on our behalf to uplift and fulfill our prayers; if and when we, in our weakness, cannot pray, if we abide in our faith and inwardly cleave, the Spirit will intercede and will pray for us. As you may recall there is Simple Mercy and Abundant Mercy, the mercy that we and Tzaddikim are able to invoke through our prayers, and the mercy that is invoked when God prays to God - the Spirit prays to God; when the Spirit takes up prayers on our behalf, whether we are with the Spirit in an expanded state of consciousness or in a restricted state of consciousness, there may be an invocation of Abundant Mercy, or Supernal Grace.

When Adonai Yeshua cried out with this prayer, as we know, there was the intercession of the Holy Spirit and angels of heaven, and ultimately there was the manifestation of Abundant Mercy, for Yeshua Messiah was raised from death to eternal life and was glorified and exalted; this, too, is our hope in the Lord, the Spirit, for having received the Spirit, if we abide in our faith and cleave to the Lord the Spirit perpetually intercedes on our behalf, and with the Spirit so also the souls of the righteous in heaven and the angels - the good company of the Holy Shekinah.

Thus, truly, in the Lord, with the Spirit, we are never lacking, and we are never abandoned, but God is always with us as the Spirit and the Messiah indwells us as the Spirit; for our part, though, we must follow in the way of the Spirit and let the Spirit lead us and carry us wherever she will, all as God wills it, and when we do the Spirit will accomplish all good things with, in and through us, and may even become manifest as us in the flesh. Such is the great wonder of the Holy Spirit! Praise God!

May you go forth in the Spirit of Yahweh! Amen.

Yahweh Shalom!

Blessings in the Holy Name of Yeshua Messiah!

The ceremony of baptism (mikvah) has its conception under the law as a ceremony for the restoration of ritual purity that was done at certain times, under certain conditions, and it was done again and again, performed as a commandment; the power of the forgiveness of sin was not in it, and there was no anointing with the Holy Light and Spirit of God associated with it, and therefore it was indeed “dead.”

Yohanan took up this ceremony of immersion in waters for the forgiveness of sin according to the word of God, and when Yeshua and Yohanan enacted this ceremony in the Sacred Jordan they brought the anointing into it, so that all who receive this initiation in faith and love might receive the Holy Light and Spirit, and in this the waters of baptism were perfected and made “living,” for light and life come from the Spirit of God (Ruach Elohim).

Adonai Yeshua teaches, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above,” and, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit. What is born of flesh is flesh, and what is born of Spirit is spirit” (John 3:3, 5).

Now when we go down into the living waters, cleaving to Hayyah Yeshua - Living Yeshua, the old person and life, and all sin, is dead and buried with him, and rising up from the living waters, receiving our anointing with the Holy Light and Spirit, we are raised with the Messiah to eternal life, receiving the rest, the perfect peace and joy of the Eternal Shabbat - Supernal Abode. When we receive our anointing our image and soul appears in the Supernal Abode, the World-To-Come, and we are established in the kingdom of God, on earth and in the afterlife. Thus, when we are baptized and anointed, born of water and Spirit, we have a new person and life in the Lord, the Spirit, and we have a body of vision that we wear, the formation of our ruach and nefesh in the likeness of our image and soul in the Supernal Abode, our ruach and nefesh serving as vehicles of the radiance of our heavenly soul, neshamah, and the Holy Light and Spirit with us; therefore when we have been baptized and anointed we let go of grasping at name and form, and personal history, and instead generate a new self-identity with fully evolved and enlightened being - divine and supernal being, the Messiah.

Understand, the “kingdom of God” (El, Elohim), this is Malkut of Atzilut, and when we are born from above, receiving the Spirit, we can see, hear, feel, taste and smell in the spiritual world, our consciousness opens to realms, worlds and universes of inner, metaphysical dimensions - astral, spiritual and supernal, and yet more, we can see the kingdom of God and enter the kingdom of God through the power of the Spirit of God with us. Thus, through the Spirit we have true life, and we acquire knowledge, understanding and wisdom (Habad), the three great lights that are the roots of the three greatest gifts of the Spirit, faith, hope and love.

There is a secret mystery to be spoken here. As we know, at the outset of creation the Spirit of God (Ruach Elohim) “swept over the face of the waters,” and it was ordained by El Elyon, the Supreme, that the full influx of the Holy Light and Spirit would transpire through the Human One in the first Holy Shabbat, and it was ordained that through the full reception of the Spirit the Eternal Shabbat would dawn and be realized. On the Eve of the First Shabbat, however, the Human One ate of the fruit of the Holy Tree prematurely and sinned, turning away from God, the True Light, towards false and impure lights, and therefore the Human One did not remember and keep the Holy Shabbat and was not able to receive the influx of the Holy Light and Spirit of God.

Through the Human One the entire creation was destined to receive the influx of the Holy Light and Spirit, and therefore through the sin of the Human One - through the ignorance of the Human One, creation was impaired and incomplete, and so it is said the the Human One (Adam) “brought death into the world,” for “the waters were not joined with the Spirit.” Therefore, the Son of God (Ben-Yah), the Lord of Shabbat, was sent into the world, and when Yohanan and Yeshua met at the Sacred Jordan, and the Soul of the Messiah entered into Adonai Yeshua, and they received the full influx of the Holy Light and Spirit, the waters were perfected and light and life came into them, and in the Spirit of God creation was perfected and completed, a new humanity, and a new heaven and earth came into being.

“Kingdom of God,” Malkut of Atzilut - Shekinah of Messiah and Eternal Shabbat; receiving the great influx of the Spirit of God (Ruach Elohim), so also the full influx of Malkut of Atzilut, the Shekinah of Messiah and Eternal Shabbat was received.

Thus, Yohanan and Yeshua proclaimed, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near” - it was embodied and made manifest in Yeshua Messiah; and a baptism of repentance was ordained and given, a baptism in living waters through which we receive the Spirit of God.

Receiving our anointing with the Holy Light and Spirit, as long as we abide in our faith and cleave to the Lord, and we seek to live in righteousness and truth, seeking to live like our Elder Brother, Messiah Yeshua, the Spirit will always remain with us and will never depart from us, even if we fall into very restricted states of consciousness; whether in motion and speaking, or in stillness and silence, nevertheless the Spirit will be with us. The Spirit is like a companion on a long journey, sometimes there is speaking, sometimes silence, sometimes movement, sometimes rest, but throughout our traveling companion is with us, and so it goes from day to day throughout life, and so it continues into the afterlife, the Spirit is forever with us. Praise God!

Now, all in a great mystery, it is ordained that in this world we receive the Holy Light and Spirit from God through one another, so that one who has the Holy Light and Spirit, and who walks in the good company of the Shekinah of Messiah, passes the Holy Light and Spirit on to others in this world. There is this play of giving and receiving in this world, which was initiated according to the word of God by Yohanan and Yeshua at the Sacred Jordan.

Thus, in the Gospel of St. Matthew we read: “Then Yeshua came from Galilee to Yohanan at the Jordan, to be baptized by him. Yohanan would have prevented him, saying, ‘I need to be baptized by you, and you come to me?’ But Yeshua answered him, Let it be so for now; for it is proper for us in this way to fulfill all righteousness.’ Then he consented” (3:13-15).

This is also reflected in the teaching of Adonai Yeshua to his disciples, “Where two or more are gathered in my Name, I am with them.” Understand, the Lord is the Spirit, and when two or more gather in the Name of the Lord, in faith and love, the Spirit will move with them and pass between them, and all who are present with faith will be uplifted by the Spirit; and there will be a greater movement of the Spirit, for when the Spirit is received and is with us, like a wind the Spirit moves through the world touching many people, and not only human beings, but all manner of creatures, perfecting and completing creation, as God wills it.

Having the Spirit with you, wherever you go you bring the Spirit with you, and aware of this so it is given to you to co-labor with the Spirit to uplift all in return to God, the True Light; having the Spirit of God with you, you are empowered to this labor of the harvest of souls, this Great Work.

In closing we can share an open secret. Eternal Shabbat, this is enlightenment and liberation, transcendence of the gilgulim, or the necessity of physical incarnation, and it is to this end that the Spirit of God labors in us; having received your anointing the Spirit is laboring for your transcendence, your full reintegration with the Light of the Infinite, and ultimately the Spirit will accomplish this, for such is the will of God, and promise of the Lord. Praise God!

This seems enough for today.

Yeshua Shalom!

Coming and Going

#6 Postby Elder Gideon » Sat Feb 13, 2016 9:40 am

Shalom Tau Malachi and Dear Friends:

I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory about to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children of God; for the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and will obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. We know that the whole creation has been groaning in labor pains until now; and not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly while we wait for adoption, the redemption of our bodies (Romans 8:18-23).

Birth and baptism overlap in many ways. Abiding in the experiential presence and 'absence' of the Spirit is so rich.

Your thread quoting from Romans 8 is St. Paul at one of his most luminous vistas. The vision is of the material plane crying out maternally in all of the anguish and uncertainty of giving birth. This certainly interacts with the Woman of Light of Revelations 12, whose crying out in the pangs of labor literally are the events of global grief today and to come. When I consider how often you teach that Nature is becoming conscious of herself through us, I marvel at this language of Nature personifying the Spirit.

As I've read and reread the opening post of this thread, I'm all the more fascinated by this distinction of the Spirit you're emphasizing, how She seems to come and go, and yet has never left. It reminds me very much of how you speak of the Supernal Abode for which one must strive to reenter through cleaving, devekut, only to discover that all the while one had never departed. This recalls how you also speak of the "secret operation" of the Holy Spirit, which presents a question: Where the Spirit seems absent, is She operating secretly? Where She seems to be present, She's revealing openly? How are these secret and revealed dimensions of the same Spirit interacting with this mystery of how Her distinctness is coming and going?

Gratefully,

Elder Gideon

Grace and peace to you in Hayyah Yeshua!

The Spirit of God (Ruach Elohim) pervades creation and is within all things, and Nature - the force and impulse of the evolution of life, is a principle manifestation of the Holy Shekinah and Spirit in our experience and in this world. How, indeed, has life evolved from the most base elements through the mineral, vegetable and animal kingdoms to the human kingdom, and in the Messiah beyond the “human kingdom,” into enlightened being, supernal and divine? All the while there has been a “secret operation” of the Spirit, a fiery and divine intelligence, enacting through the spiritual, astral and material dimensions the original intention of the Infinite One in creation, an impulse, or force, of evolution, an ascent to the Highest of Life, an awakening and return to God - a conscious unification with the Infinite One.

The Spirit is within everything, God is within everything, and yet, clearly there is the ignorance, the illusion of separation that must be overcome, there is a need for an awakening and a conscious evolution, a conscious co-labor with the Spirit of God for the fulfillment of the Original Intention (Ratzon Elyon) in creation; and for this awakening to occur there must be an influx of the Holy Light and Spirit from above, from the depths within, that stirs and awakens the Holy Light and Spirit below, without, opening the way for a conscious choice, a conscious evolution towards the Highest of Life, or a “return to God,” and its fruition, conscious unification with the Infinite (Ain Sof).

So too, receiving the Spirit from above, and being born from above, there is a play of the secret operation of the Holy Spirit working out our salvation, as we enact good works, co-laboring with the Spirit to work out our salvation, and co-laboring with the Spirit for the salvation of all, the perfection and completion of creation - tikkune of creation; and receiving the Spirit, the Spirit is with us, and the Spirit of God often acts in independence, moving with, in and through us to fulfill the will of God, and in the play of our running and returning through various grades of consciousness, expanded or restricted, to fulfill the will of Elyon, the Most high, the Supreme.

When we receive the true anointing, whether we are aware of it or not, there is this divine action of the Spirit, and the Spirit is with us wherever we go, in whatever we are doing, and the Spirit moves with, in and through us, not only working out our own salvation, but that of others too, and the more we become aware of this, and enact a conscious evolution towards the Messiah - engaging in an active and dynamic surrender, the greater the movement of the Holy Spirit with, in and through us, and if and when we perfect our devekut through the power of the Holy Spirit - Divine Grace, so the Spirit may manifest as us, taking up our person and life in full, just as with our Elder Brother, Yeshua. Praise God!

Understand, the entire purpose of creation - the Original Intention (Ratzon Elyon), is the generation and realization of the Messiah, the embodiment of the Spirit of God (Ruach Elohim) in full, the embodiment of Messianic Consciousness, God Consciousness - the realization of conscious union with the Infinite; this was fulfilled in Yeshua and Mirya, and it is to be fulfilled in us - in all who are truly willing to receive and embody the Messiah, the Spirit of God, and to live the Life Divine.

This is the world of falsehood, and there are many pretenders, deceivers, liars here, who would claim to have the Spirit, but do not, but those with whom the Spirit is have the witness of the Spirit - knowledge and power, and glory, which is the sign of those who are awake in the Spirit, and they do not seek to fulfill self-ambitions or seek self-glorification, but they serve the kingdom of heaven with knowledge and power, and compassion, and give glory to God, through whose power, the Spirit, all things are accomplished. Understand, the Spirit of Truth leads into the World of Truth (Amet) - the World-To-Come, and from the very beginning, and in all things, this is the intention of the Spirit, for the Spirit seeks to fulfill the will of God - the Original Intention of creation, Ratzon Elyon.

There are, indeed, those who have received the Holy Light and Spirit, and those who have not, and yet, the Spirit is within everyone - lest they would have no life or existence, but there is this great influx, this true awakening, true anointing, and this changes everything, just as when one who is asleep and dreaming awakens in dream, remembering that they are dreaming, and that it is a radiant display of their own mind, and they can enact radical transformations of the dream, and even bring the dream into cessation in pure radiant awareness. If and when we are anointed with the Holy Light and Spirit, through the Spirit this full awakening is destined for us, and the Spirit will bring it to fruition, in this life, in the afterlife, or in a life very near, of this we can be assured; indeed, for to receive this Holy Light and Spirit, truly, is to be set upon the swift path, a predestination to enlightenment and liberation in three to seven lives; but then, if we have received the Holy Light and Spirit in a previous life, how much more swiftly?

The Sanctuary of Grace manifest in Messiah Yeshua is astonishing, and is it is wonderful and awesome; God is great, and God is merciful, and the entire matrix of creation is oriented to mercy - this enlightenment and liberation. Praise God!

Understanding this, let praise and thanksgiving become our prayer, and let us abide, free from the delusion of lack, in the presence of the Lord, the Spirit! Amen.

Shabbat Shalom!

Praise to the Holy Spirit whom moves with and illuminates all things!

Thank you Tau Malachi for sharing this mystery surrounding the movements of the Holy Spirit, the Baptism and the Anointing. I too appreciate the question Elder Gideon is asking about the concealed and revealed aspects of the Spirit.

I watch, as is the case much of the time, your reply is swirling a great mystery. In this swirl, what arises seems to only scratch the surface, though, I suppose that is the only way to get at it!

First, I am very moved by the connection made regarding the "Waters", the waters of baptism and the waters of the beginning of creation.

"Therefore, the Son of God (Ben-Yah), the Lord of Shabbat, was sent into the world, and when Yohanan and Yeshua met at the Sacred Jordan, and the Soul of the Messiah entered into Adonai Yeshua, and they received the full influx of the Holy Light and Spirit, the waters were perfected and light and life came into them, and in the Spirit of God creation was perfected and completed, a new humanity, and a new heaven and earth came into being.

These "waters" which are perfected, appear to be the same waters from the very beginning of creation. It is interesting to read the creation story and contemplate these waters. It is as though the entire creation story expresses a further and further separation of these waters, from the first day to the sixth day, each separation, light from darkness, day and night, sky from earth, dry land and seas, vegetation from the earth, sun and moon, living creatures from the sea and earth, and the Human One from the earth, man and woman. Along these lines then, can we say something of this New Humanity pointed to fulfills and brings in unity all of these separations?

I hear you speak of a separation of waters and Spirit, “the waters were not joined with the Spirit.”
This is intriguing, somehow then, these separations in themselves are occurrences resulting in the separation of the Spirit? Therefore, somehow through the arising of creation, arising after arising there is a further and further separation of these waters, and in order for them to be reunited there must be a conscious union between Spirit and waters, and in that conscious union there must be the ability to join with waters and not fall unconscious? Somehow the lucidity in the midst of what is separated is what brings union, is what brings the Spirit?

A very amazing mystery!

Praise God this day for all you have created, may there be an arising in the midst that rises in joy, in awe and wonder, awake and aware!

Shabbat Shalom,
Elder Sarah

Grace and peace to you in Hayyah Yeshua!

Yes, indeed, through the days of creation there is a increasing apparent separation, and likewise an increasing restriction of the Holy Light and Spirit of the Infinite; hence the correspondence of the six days of creation to six of the Sefirot of Construction, the seventh day, the Holy Shabbat, corresponding with Malkut (Kingdom). According to masters of the the tradition if Adam and Havvah (Eve) had not eaten of the Holy Tree prematurely, but had welcomed the Queen of Shabbat - the Shekinah, and remembered and kept the first Shabbat holy, the full influx of the Holy Light and Spirit would have happened on Shabbat and there would have been unification of heaven and earth, and tikkune of the World of the Holy Sefirot; but that was not to be, and all in a great mystery the fall from grace that transpired invoked the coming of the Messiah and was integral to the greater realization of creation intended by Elyon, the Supreme.

Now as we know, although the full influx of the Spirit of God (Ruach Elohim) did not happen in the initial creation, nevertheless the Spirit was in all things and pervaded creation, the life and light animating all creatures in heaven and on earth, and there is the Spirit above, beyond creation, and the Spirit below, within creation, and with the separation of firmaments, and heaven and earth, in effect there was a separation in the Spirit of God. In effect there is the Spirit above, beyond, transcendent of creation, the heavens and the earth, and there is the Spirit below, within, bound up in the matrix of creation, and through influxes of the Holy Light and Spirit from above, the Spirit is stirred and awakened below, and as there is a stirring below, so there is a greater and greater stirring above, and greater and greater influxes of the Holy Light and Spirit of the Infinite One.

Here we may say, when the Perfect Light and Spirit enter into Adonai Yeshua at the Sacred Jordan, and he arises from the living waters as Messiah - the Anointed, the Spirit above and below were unified, and through the full embodiment of the Holy Light and Spirit in him, heaven and earth were unified, perfecting and completing creation, and generating a new heaven and earth with the emergence of a new humanity, supernal and divine - a humanity born of water and Spirit from above, from the true kingdom of heaven. When heaven and earth were joined in him, so the kingdom of heaven was manifest on earth, in this world, and the continuum of imparting the Holy Light and Spirit was manifest among us, the Messiah - Anointing.

Understand, the “Lord is the Spirit,” the Messiah is the anointing we receive with the Holy Light and Spirit, and likewise, this anointing is the kingdom of God; receiving our anointing we receive the Messiah and are the Messiah indwells us, and we are able to see and enter into the kingdom of God. Hallelu Yah! Praise the Lord!

The Messiah indwells us, and the Holy Spirit moves with, in and through us, and quite literally we are the Body of the Messiah and the Chariot of the Spirit of God (Ruach Elohim, Ruach Yahweh), and the Spirit is with us wherever we go, and the Spirit with us is awakening the Spirit in all things, not only imparting itself to human beings who are willing and able to receive the Messiah, but also to animals and plants, and even to stones and minerals, as well as to invisible spirits and all manner of spiritual beings. In a manner of speaking, the stirring and awakening of the Spirit below, within creation, and the perfection and completion of creation, is ongoing, for it is the will of God that “all flesh,” all creation, receive the influx of the Holy Light and Spirit from above, beyond the heavens and the earth, and that all might be established in the kingdom of God (El, Elohim) and World-To-Come; hence, that all might be enlightened and liberated, and brought into conscious unification with the Infinite One - full and conscious Holy Communion.

Although we may speak of the Spirit “above” and Spirit “below,” and a twofold action of the Spirit above and below, and there is an apparent and relative separation, distinction, between the Spirit above and Spirit below, understand there is, in truth one Living Spirit, and in itself the Spirit is undivided; when we experience the enlightenment of the Spirit - Christ or God Consciousness, we realize the unity of the Spirit, and we become aware of that Holy Light above everywhere here below, and we are aware that this has always been true, though all in a great mystery there is the relative reality of the Spirit below and above. In the same way, though we behold that Holy Light and Spirit that is above everywhere below, so we are aware that there are those who have received the Spirit and those who, as yet, have not, and we continue in the spiritual labor for the transmission of the Holy Light and Spirit, and the awakening of the Spirit and soul within all beings in heaven and on earth.

In this play of Light Transmission, as you might imagine, there are many gradations, and there is a play of Direct Light and Indirect Light, Abundant Mercy and Simple Mercy, corresponding with the Holy Sefirot; understanding this, as there is the Spirit above and below, so also the Holy Light, and in the play of Light Transmission there can be transmission of Direct Light at various gradations and Indirect Light at various gradations.

In closing we can say this, when we receive the Holy Light and Spirit from above there is the awakening of a great fiery intelligence within us, the “serpent power,” and this serpent power is uplifted and redeemed by the Holy Light and Spirit from above, and when uplifted to the heart, brow and crown truly we are “set on fire with the Holy Spirit.” This serpent power, this is the Holy Spirit below, within us, which is awakened and uplifted by the Spirit from above, beyond; and this is the power, the force, through which the soul becomes enlightened and liberated.

Receiving the Spirit of God from above, may the Spirit within us be fully awakened and realized, and as we are anointed with the Spirit of God, may many be anointed and uplifted with us! Amen.

Yeshua Shalom!

One Spirit

#10 Postby Elder Gideon » Fri Feb 19, 2016 3:42 pm

Shalom Tau Malachi and Elder Sarah:

We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn within a large family. And those whom he predestined he also called; and those whom he called he also justified; and those whom he justified he also glorified (Romans 8:28-30).

Elder Sarah's relating the account of Creation as a continual process of division above to below ties very deep mysteries Tau Malachi has elaborated here of the equal and opposite process of unification below to above in Messiah:

If I'm correctly hearing you Tau, you seem to suggest that the Spirit "above" and the Spirit "below" are manifestations of heaven and earth respectively, which are the first to divide at the outset of Creation and are first to be united in Yeshua, the "first born." It is the unique tikkune of the human one that heaven and earth can be consciously united within them, as we see in anointed women and men of God, who at times are more than human.

I wish to ask more about the unification of the Spirit above and below by way of the human one, in light of the conclusion of St. Paul's discourse of the Spirit, how all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose . Long before meeting this lineage, I've stood on this verse in very painful times. It taught me as a young man to trust that something else was happening within and behind my periods of real misery. As I watched others my age fall away, it further occurred to me that my willingness to cleave in this way revealed some kind of foreknowledge and predestination. What the image of the Son is for me now is much more internal, detailed and immediate: This is one's neshamah, one's tzelem: being reborn of the Spirit above.

Conforming to the image of the Son is living by faith and generating the conditions by which that faith becomes knowledge of being first born: Light Transmission. Many, many Christians speak of being changed when they least expected by a great Light. This Light entirely reorients one's starting point. By whatever gradation of transmission, the Spirit is the same who reveals how all neshamot are as inseparable as a large family. Being called to this, being stirred by this, is felt in ruach and nefesh, the Spirit below. Their purification of all distortions in the mentalities of the 'flesh' justifies ruach and nefesh to be glorified : transparent to, and aligned with, neshamah. One Spirit.

In so many words, I hear in the conclusion of St. Paul's teaching how the Spirit above and the Spirit below consciously become One Spirit in the image of the Son in each of us. I ask for corrections to this contemplation.

Gratefully,

Elder Gideon

Grace and peace to you in Messiah, our Adonai!

“We know that all things work together for good for those who love God [El, Elohim]…”

“No, in all things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor archons, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Messiah Yeshua, our Adonai”
(8:37-39).

Yes, indeed, the Spirit above, corresponds with heaven, and the Spirit below, corresponds with earth; but then there is the Spirit of God beyond the seven heavens, in the eighth heaven - the true kingdom of heaven (Supernal Abode), and there is the Spirit of God beyond the kingdom of heaven and World of the Sefirot, the Spirit as it is in the Infinite One. Thus, the Spirit above reaches beyond the heavens into the Supernal Abode, the Sefirot of Yichud, and beyond into the Infinite One.

The inmost aspects of our soul, yechidah, hayyah and neshamah, correspond with the Holy Light and Spirit above, for they emanate from the Holy Light and Spirit and, therefore, the Holy Light and Spirit are their nature and “substance.” When we receive the Holy Light from above, beyond, the influence of our neshamah enters, or if already present it increases, and the Spirit merges with our ruach elevating it and illuminating it, and the Spirit below that is in our nefesh is awakened and uplifted, and is also joined with our ruach; hence, truly, there is a fiery intelligence in us, the awakened intelligence of our heart and soul. This generates true love of God and the love of all creatures, and the desire for the fulfillment of the will of God in creation, on earth and in the heavens, and in this love we are merged with Yeshua Messiah, “conformed to the image of the Son” (Ben).

On an esoteric level, as we know “Son” (Ben) is the Partzuf of Da’at - literally “knowledge of emanation,” and with knowledge there is power. When we receive the Spirit from above and the Spirit in us is awakened and uplifted, and the Spirit is unified in us, so the Spirit in us may merge with the Spirit in all things surrounding us, and it is possible that this may extend throughout the entire matrix of creation. This corresponds with the knowledge and power of the Blessed Name to which all creation and all spiritual forces are subject, and through which all who cleave are uplifted in the Great Ascension, returning to God. When the Spirit is with us, and when we enact the will of the Most High (Elyon), all spiritual forces of creation move with us, and all are subject to the Blessed Name in us, or the image of the Sun of God in us - the Human One of Light.

Now concerning foreknowledge and predestination, this is a grand mystery that is very difficult to explain, for this corresponds with the mystery of the interconnection and interaction between eternity and space-time, and the vision of incarnations from the perspective of the eternal realm. There is no distinction of past and future in the eternal realm, or Supernal Abode, but all that was, is and will be abides as a reality in the present moment, here and now, and yet there is intimate knowledge of the incarnations of souls and their evolution and awakening through space-time, knowledge of when the influence of neshamah will enter, when souls will receive the Spirit, and when they will begin their return to God and complete their return to God, or their reintegration with the Infinite Light. Thus there is “foreknowledge” in the Lord and souls that receive the Spirit, and who love God and seek to return to God are, in effect, predestined to follow in the Way, or predestined to the Great Ascension.

As we have said, and as we know through what we we observe in our experience of life, there are souls that have received the Holy Light and Spirit, and there are those who have not, and those who received the Holy Light and Spirit were predestined to receive it in this life, and the Lord, the Spirit, had foreknowledge of them and their reception before they entered into this life.

This naturally provokes a question. Why are some predestined to receive the Holy Light and Spirit, while many others are not? This, of course, corresponds with the various grades of souls and their evolution. The journey of souls is very long and extends through countless incarnations, spanning mineral, vegetable, animal and human realms, and many other realms as well; at the outset, and through many early incarnations, there is only the influence and manifestation of nefesh, the vital soul, with little, if any influence of ruach, but as souls evolve and begin to awaken, ruach stirs and souls are able to enter into human incarnations, along with some other realms associated with the realization of ruach. As nefesh and ruach become realized, and they are unified in an incarnation, the radiance of neshamah begins to shine through the incarnations of the soul, and it is at this point the souls are able to receive the Holy Light and Spirit, becoming predestined to do so in their incarnations, and likewise becoming predestined to true salvation - enlightenment and liberation.

All the while the Spirit labors in secret, hidden, driving souls forward in their progressive evolution and awakening, laboring to create the conditions necessary for the influx of the Holy Light and Spirit from above; hence, laboring for the realization of nefesh elokit, a godly soul, and the realization of ruach, human and divine intelligence, and this brings forth the radiance of neshamah, our heavenly or supernal soul, and with it the radiance of the Holy Spirit descending from above.

Understand, all the while our neshamah holds knowledge and understanding of the Lord, as well as wisdom of the Lord - Habad of the Supernal Abode and the Infinite; but all in a mystery, in effect, until neshamah is realized and embodied this is a potential, not actual, and our image (zelem) does not appear in the Supernal Abode, or World-To-Come. When the influence of neshamah begins to enter into the incarnations of the soul, and is expressed by the ruachot and nefeshim of the incarnations, and begins to be realized and embodied, the presence of our neshamah and our heavenly image appear in the Supernal Abode - the palace of the Messiah, and so the Lord has foreknown us before we were born and in our incarnations we are predestined to receive the Lord, the Spirit, and be established in the Way - the Anointing.

We may say that the Spirit below labors for the generation of nefesh elokit and the realization of ruach, and the Spirit above labors for the realization and embodiment of neshamah, the complete illumination and perfection of ruach; and truly this is one great labor of the Spirit of God (Ruach Elohim, Ruach Yahweh).

Now, when we speak of the foreknowledge of the Lord, the Spirit, there is also foreknowledge of tzaddikim and angels, or “saints and angels” we have a prior acquaintanceship with, whom know us and whom we know. Indeed, and if we are blessed to encounter a living tzaddik in this life, and yet more we are blessed to be received by them, and so are blessed to receive teachings and initiation from them, there was foreknowledge of this in the kingdom of heaven before we were born, and it was predestined. If we truly are able to become a companion of a tzaddik and draw close to them, we were connected with them before this life and it was our soul’s intention to find them and labor with them in this life. Understanding this, the deep bond that forms between a tzaddik and their heart companions is no surprise because it was already present in the Lord, in the kingdom of heaven.

As perhaps you may realize, all of this is orchestrated by the Holy Spirit, all as God wills it. Praise God!

This seems enough for one day.

If you are willing, please abide with me this day in communion with the Spirit, and let us wait together on the Spirit to see where she might carry us. Amen.

Shalom Aleichem!
