Ariel, Ariel

#1 Postby Elder Gideon » Sat Sep 29, 2018 11:49 am

Ah, Ariel, Ariel,
the city where David encamped!
Add year to year;
let the festivals run their round.
Yet I will distress Ariel,
and there shall be moaning and lamentation,
and Jerusalem shall be to me like an Ariel
(Isaiah 29:1-2).

Shalom Tau Malachi:

This verse from Isaiah I've never heard in this way until now: Ariel is an apostrophe for Jerursalem.

Ariel is a compound word formed by Ari—Lion and El—God: Lion of God. Consistent with how the Kabbalah speaks of Jerusalem as Malkut and Shekinah, the same lion could even be feminine: Lionness of God.

When I contemplate this further, I see another simple addition to the letters spelling אריאל that make another beautiful mystery for Oriel: Light of God: אוֹריאל. Isaiah is among the first prophets to speak of a new Jerusalem:

Arise, shine; for your light has come,
and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.
For darkness shall cover the earth,
and thick darkness the peoples;
but the LORD will arise upon you,
and his glory will appear over you.
Nations shall come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your dawn [...]
The sun shall no longer be
your light by day,
nor for brightness shall the moon
give light to you by night;
but the LORD will be your everlasting light,
and your God will be your glory.
Your sun shall no more go down,
or your moon withdraw itself;
for the LORD will be your everlasting light,
and your days of mourning shall be ended
(Isaiah 60:1-3, 19-20).

St. John develops this image of New Jerusalem by adding

And there will be no more night; they need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign for ever and ever (22:5).

I share this with a desire to appreciate where we've been in Continuum and where we're heading next. It feels like the light of New Jerusalem is the same as that receiving the Blessed Dead. For those who die in twoness and separation from the One, Isaiah suggests that Ariel will consume and ravage its inhabitants. Perhaps this is an image of consuming fire, while for those cleaving to the One, an image of illumination.

What more may we make of this Lioness of God—this New Jerusalem—and its fire and light?

Grace and peace to you from Yahweh, Yeshua!

There are deep secret mysteries here, and we may pray that the Holy Spirit might help us glean something of the secret wisdom and that God might grant us understanding. Amen.

Jerusalem is the city called “God’s peace,” but in this world is far from it, and in truth completely the opposite, and so an ‘abomination,’ as stated in other utterances of prophecy. In this regard, from a gnostic perspective, the zeal of the common people of faith to go on pilgrimage to visit the “Holy Land” is misguided, for neither is there understanding of the true Jerusalem nor the true Holy Land; many apparently have not heard the teaching of Yeshua Messiah that his ‘kingdom is not of this world,’ nor his teachings that the true ‘kingdom of heaven is within and surrounding’ souls within whom the Messiah has been born, the Word of God has been spoken, and that is it ‘spread out upon the face of the earth for those who have eyes to see it.’ Likewise, we may recall a verse from an esoteric gospel in which the Master tells his disciples to turn and flee far from the earthly Jerusalem and not look back for ‘archons are gathered around it’ to devour it and it is destined to destruction. Here we may recall that in earthly Jerusalem, the authorities ruling in it, have been responsible for the murder of many prophets, and so also the murder Adonai Yeshua, the Messiah. This earthly Jerusalem, this corruption, this abomination, filled with dead religion devoid of the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Truth, is ‘Ariel’; and yes, indeed, a ‘Lion of God,’ devouring those whose so called “faith” is devoid of love, those worshipping and serving the ‘self-will triple power,’ or worse, its great shadow (Satan), in place of God, the True Light - those who corrupt religion and lead souls astray from the Straight Path. You may say it is a testing of souls, and that it is a guardianship of the Divine Presence, and indeed it is, and as such an angel of wrath, judgment.

True Jerusalem, New Jerusalem - the true kingdom of God, which is not of this world but of the world-to-come, this is Oriel - ‘Light of God,’ not devouring but illuminating, filled with the Divine Presence, and light, love, peace and joy everlasting. Look and see! The addition of one letter - Vau, which as we know is a letter corresponding with the Messiah in the Great Name, the Holy Light of the Messiah being the light of all prophets and apostles of God; those souls in whom the Messiah is conceived, gestated and birthed by the Spirit of God, in whom the Living Word is spoken by God, are established in New Jerusalem, the kingdom of God being in them and all around them in this world, so they shall experience a greater revelation of the kingdom of God, New Jerusalem, in the world-to-come. Praise God!

There is an open secret, though, hidden in the name of Ariel. Alef (ox, also air, spirit) here represents God Most High, the Holy One; Resh (face) represents the Messiah and Yod (hand) represents the Holy Spirit. Understand, there are those who proclaim “all souls go into the light when they die,” and there is truth in this, however not as they conceive and propose. Indeed, all return to God, the True Light, and yet for some it is fire - the fire of hell, and for some the indirect light - light of the seven heavens, but then there are those for whom it is full reintegration with the Infinite Light, oneness with the Messiah in God. Ariel, fire of hell or light of heavens - realms in the gilgulim that ultimately will pass away; Oriel, full reintegration with the Infinite Light, the Great Liberation, the latter the fruit of the birth of the Messiah, the speaking of the Word, in souls - full reception of the Messiah.

If understood, New Jerusalem is built of the souls of the faithful and spiritual elect, just as the heavens are composed of angels; hence, souls in whom the Holy Light of the Messiah and Holy Spirit was embodied, and from whom that Holy Light and Spirit shone forth in this world, and so shall radiate from them in full glory in the world to come.

We shall say, wherever such a soul dwells on earth, or wherever they travel on earth, that place is the True Holy Land; so many many among the faithful travel to the earthly Jerusalem as though it is holy, but seek the Living One among the dead or in ancient tombs. If we are seeking the Living One, Living Presence, Living Word, we are wise to seek it among the living who are lovers and knowers of God, and so dwellings of the Divine Presence, Holy Shekinah, Holy Spirit.

These are a few thoughts scratching the surface, but perhaps they may hint at deeper things.

May we be blessed to abide in the Divine Presence, to be awake in the Living God, and so come to dwell in New Jerusalem with the loving ones! Amen.

Yeshua Shalom!

New Jerusalem

#3 Postby Elder Gideon » Sat Oct 20, 2018 9:50 am

Shalom Tau Malachi:

If understood, New Jerusalem is built of the souls of the faithful and spiritual elect, just as the heavens are composed of angels; hence, souls in whom the Holy Light of the Messiah and Holy Spirit was embodied, and from whom that Holy Light and Spirit shone forth in this world, and so shall radiate from them in full glory in the world to come.

Many thanks, Tau Malachi, for unfolding this mystery of New Jerusalem in ways I intuited but never phrased so essentially. You've just said so much. New Jerusalem is not a place souls go to, but the embodiment of the Messiah they share together, here and after.

This supports a feeling I've carried since our most recent feast celebrating the Apocalypse. Its narrative sounds like it's occurring in two settings—heaven and earth—but I'm more inclined to see every scene of mercy in the heavens as the interior lives of the faithful and elect still incarnate while the matrix of earth unravels in strict judgment. The culminating image of New Jerusalem is much more. Your reminding that New Jerusalem is above the heavens brings me to its more radical meaning: the embodiment of God's Light.

Gnostic apostles emphasize again and again the immediacy of the resurrection, that it is now, not when we die. To contact, remember, and embody this awareness is gnosis. I hear New Jerusalem—Oriel—as a profound image of enlightenment:

I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God is its light, and its lamp is the Lamb (Revelations 21:22).

St. John makes very explicit how internal is this station of gnosis and enlightenment: Nothing of a building or a single source of light may be found. Instead, as you've taught above, the building is the embodiment of the people of God, its light is the glory of God. How elegant is his teaching of Oriel, the Light of God.

With God's help, I wish to know more of how Masters of our Tradition have ever equated New Jerusalem with anything of the place of the Blessed Dead.

The Woman of Light from chapter 12 seems to foreshadow this. Similarly from the Gospel of Pistis Sophia, the Virgin of Light, before whom all souls are brought for judgment and reincarnation, also contributes much insight into this principle of Oriel. You introduced a new, interior chant I remember and continue to practice with the Woman of Light—Ha Isha Elyona, Imma Jerusalem—as a deep contemplation of the maternity of New Jerusalem. Lastly, your teaching of the One God conceived by the Father in the First Coming further supports a new way in which we could hear New Jerusalem as birthed by the Mother in the Second Coming.

All of this points to new ways in which I hear New Jerusalem as equal with the place of the Blessed Dead.

Grace and peace to you in Messiah and El Elyon, God Most High!

Yes, indeed, as the Gospel of St. Phillip teaches us, the resurrection is not an experience after death, but rather before death, in this life, and then only, having been resurrected with the Messiah and born into the Life Divine in this world, do souls enter into the experience of the Great Resurrection and Ascension in the World-To-Come.

Understand, when Messiah Yeshua teaches that we must be reborn of water and the Spirit this corresponds with the experience of ‘resurrection’ among gnostics. As St. Paul teaches, going down into the water we are ‘dead and buried’ with Messiah, and rising up out of the waters, receiving the Holy Light and Spirit of the Messiah, so we are raised up with the Messiah in the resurrection and ascension, and being alive in the Messiah we abide in the Life Divine - bornless being in God, the True Light. In truth, until we receive the Holy Light and Spirit from ‘above,’ and the Messiah Spirit is awakened within our body and soul, on a spiritual level we are dead, for apart from the Holy Light and Spirit of God we cannot see, hear, feel, smell, taste or touch in the Spirit, though having the physical exterior senses, we have no interior senses and so we are blind, deaf and dumb with regard to the spiritual world, and heaven and God, or as though ‘dead.’ Understanding this spiritual deadness before the reception and awakening of the Spirit of God in our soul, truly when we receive the Messiah, the Holy Light and Spirit of God, we are resurrect, or ‘raised from among the dead.’ Truly so!

Receiving the Holy Light and Spirit, the Messiah, the Living Word is conceived and born in the heart of our soul and we are among the people of the resurrection - the ‘Order of Regeneration’; hence, we are born of the new humanity that is supernal and divine, of which Adonai Yeshua and the Magdalene are the ‘first man’ and ‘first woman,’ and so in effect the ‘father’ and ‘mother’ of all people of this New Order - this new humanity. Among gnostics Yeshua and Mirya are understood, though, as our Elder Brother and Elder Sister, the firstborn of the Anointing, and just as they embodied the fullness of the Divine Presence, the Holy Light and Spirit, and the corresponding communion in the oneness of God, the Absolute Light, so also we are to embody the Holy Light and Spirit in full, being perfect human beings as they were perfect ones, or true the ‘living ones.’

This corresponds with the True ‘Church of Christ,’ the Messiah - Anointed Community, and it is, in truth, an ‘Interior Church,’ having no exterior sign or appearance but those who are its people, its members in whom the Messiah, the Holy Light and Spirit, dwells, abiding and acting according to the will of the Most High (Ratzon Elyon); hence, truly, the ‘Body of Christ,’ the Messiah. As we are given to understand, orthodoxy, having lost the knowledge of the way of the prophets and apostles, having lost the Light Transmission - communication of the Holy Light and Spirit, so there came a renewal, revival, and messengers sent by God restoring the Light Transmission, and in those spiritual communities receiving this renewal of the Anointing from God, therein is the ‘Second Appearance of Christ,’ the Messiah.

Understand, ‘Beyond is within, the kingdom of heaven is within,’ and that ‘Beyond,’ the ‘True Heaven’ (enlightenment), is the Risen Messiah indwelling us. So we teach new aspirants, saying to them, ‘go within and live within, and go deeper still, and open to the Holy Light and Spirit from above; and receiving the Holy Light and Spirit, integrate all aspects of your being, your consciousness, yourself and your life, with that Truth and Light, and embody it.’ This is the very essence of the Holy Gospel, the Way.

As you know, during experiences of inner grades of Light Transmission with living apostles we often experience a vast, immeasurable inner space within and around them, as though gazing into them we see within them realms and worlds of inner dimensions - heavens, and we see gatherings of angels and archangels, and see various light images and faces of holy and enlightened ones as though gazing into the ancient past and distant future, and at times it may be as though gazing into the Messiah, or the face of God. What we are beholding in those moments of the Divine Presence unveiling before us is the truth, the reality of souls in the One Soul and Messiah, and it is as though we are gazing into a mirror to behold something of the truth, the reality, of the Messiah within ourselves. Indeed, for that is the very purpose, the very intention of the Divine Presence in such moments of unveiling, to bring us into the remembrance of the Messiah within us, to reveal something of our Christ Self or Divine Self - the Divine I Am.

Such moments of unveiling in the Divine Presence, of course, reveal the truth, the reality of the Body of Messiah - Anointed Community, and every member of that Holy Body that has received the Messiah, the Holy Light and Spirit of God. It may be that from one to another each has a different progress in the Gospel, the Way, and from one to another are established in different stations and states, and hold different gifts of the Spirit, but all share in and are united in the Messiah, one and the same Divine Presence, Living Spirit, and that Holy Light and Spirit the Messiah Is shines from within each and ever member, the Spirit having given birth to the Living Word in them. In the Messiah they are unified with the One Soul and with God Most High, and so with the powers of the kingdom of heaven, or New Jerusalem.

Thus, as taught in Gnostic Scripture the kingdom of heaven is, indeed, within us and surrounding us on all sides, and the Body of the Messiah - Anointed Community, bears all of the spiritual powers, gifts of the Messiah Spirit and kingdom of heaven, or the powers of all of the Most Beautiful Names of God.

Now we have said that New Jerusalem is ‘built,’ as it were, of souls unified in the Messiah with God Most High, much like the seven heavens which are composed of the angels corresponding with them; but more so, it is ‘built’ by the acts of members of the Body of Messiah - Anointed Community, their various spiritual works through which their souls are actualized and realized in the Messiah, and so also the Names of God, or the Divine Attributes (Sefirot). Just as the faithful and spiritual elect are able to give strength to angels and create new angels, and able to expand the heavens and create new heavenly realms through various spiritual actions or works, so in the Risen Messiah this extends into the Heaven of heavens, the Supernal Abode, or ‘New Jerusalem.’

There is no doubt that there is more that might be said concerning the various secret mysteries that have arisen in our contemplation, but I’m inclined to pause before sharing anything further, as his seems enough for the moment.

May the Holy One bless us with understanding of these secrets of the Messiah and Body of the Messiah, and the First Appearance and Second Appearance of the Messiah in Great Glory! Amen.

Shalom Aleichem!

Tree of Life, River of Life

#5 Postby Elder Gideon » Sat Oct 27, 2018 7:14 pm

Shabbat Eve Shalom, Tau Malachi:

Wondrous is this message that New Jerusalem is ‘built’ by the acts of members of the Body of Messiah - Anointed Community. The implications of this bring us to this life, here and now, where we can actualize what indwells us and compels us to act! Your teaching precisely explains why there's not temple or light outside the Anointed Community. One with the LORD God, they are the temple and its light. I'm amazed and inspired all the more to trust the One acting through me, as St. Thomas, whose righteous deeds for the poor built a celestial, rather than material, palace for the patron king. What we do for others builds sanctuary now and in the World to Come.

Given this discussion of structure and light, what may we make of the Tree of Life in the center and the River of Life flowing through it?

Grace and peace to you from Yahweh Elohim Shaddai and Yeshua Messiah!

In the Book of Revelation we read:

“I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb”
(21:22).

The Messiah and Holy One is the temple, the holy sanctuary, in New Jerusalem, so as to say that there is a worship of God in pure spirit and truth therein, a direct and immediate communion with the Messiah and Holy One without need for any intermediary, or anything external, outside; hence, the experience of the Divine Presence of the Messiah and Holy One is within the souls dwelling there and surrounding them on all sides, so that the Messiah and Holy One are the Teacher and Guide of all, to each according to their station or abiding - their realization. There is, no doubt, a greater experience and realization of this communion in intimate nearness, oneness, in the World-To-Come than in this world, certainly so! Yet, this is the true way of Anointed Community, or ‘Gnostic Community,’ in this world, and it is here in this life that such worship of God in spirit and truth is to be actualized and realized, and in that worship of God, so the realization of the innate oneness of the soul with the Messiah in God, the Absolute Light.

In the true heart of a human being, in their divine soul, their inner being, there is a Seed of Light - the ‘Christ Spirit,’ to be nourished and nurtured through prayer and meditation in stillness and silence, and through the fear and love of the Lord; there in the heart of our divine soul, our inner being, is the Messiah, there is the Living Word and Holy Spirit, and there is the unveiling and self-disclosure of God to us - direct communion with God, true ‘Holy Communion.’ If we turn to God, if we gather ourselves inward, and open to the Holy Light and Spirit of God, the Seed of Light in us - our divine spark, will be activated, awakened, and then through prayer and meditation, through being gathered inward in stillness and silence, that Holy Seed will grow and mature, and in its maturation understand, it is this Tree of Life - fullness of the Attributes of the Messiah and Holy One. If, indeed, we discover how to listen and hear the Word of God and Spirit of God that is spoken in our hearts, so we shall have a True Teacher and True Guide - the ‘Perfect Tzaddik,’ and receiving the Word of God spoken and revealed in our hearts, and acting upon it, so we drink of those living waters of the river “bright as crystal” flowing through the “Tree of Life” from the “Throne of God.” As New Jerusalem - the true kingdom of heaven, is within us my brother, so this “River of Life” and “Tree of Life,” the Clear Light Radiance of the Supernal One that flows through the Divine Attributes actualized and realized, and embodied.

What we are speaking about is the true baptism and anointing of souls, and whatever outward gestures of religious ceremony might occur, apart from this they are nothing more than empty husks or shells.

When there is a reception of the Living Word, and so guidance, direction, leading, we must promptly and faithfully follow it, however, and so live according to the Truth and Light revealed to us, embodying that Truth and Light. As we know, the inward is to become manifest in the outward, and the inside and outside are to be brought into complete alignment and harmony, unified in the Messiah; as they are unified, so it is the Messiah and Holy Spirit that becomes the doer of all our actions, and that completes and perfects them in God. This corresponds to the attribute of ‘blameless’ ascribed to those anointed as prophets and apostles of God Most High, and understand that to sojourn in the Way, the Messiah, is to walk in the way of the prophets and apostles, for whether or not we are called as prophets or apostles in the Body of the Messiah, all who receive the Messiah, the Anointing with Holy Light and Spirit, are ordained as priest-sovereigns by God Most High, and therefore, abiding in the Sanctuary of Grace, living according to the Truth and Light revealed to us, all sins are forgiven and we are blameless in the Messiah.

Now it must be said, turning to God, and going inward, and opening to the Holy Light and Spirit of God, it is the Spirit of God that will teach us true inwardness, gathering us into the depth of our inner being, and so into the Source and Origin of our being, our existence, God Most High. It is through the grace and mercy of God that we come to a true and full inwardness, through faith in the grace of God manifest in Messiah Yeshua and the Body of Messiah, a faith that is a force of will to seek and find the Truth, the Holy One. So in faith we go inward seeking, abiding, and waiting upon the Spirit of the Lord in this way, so we shall find through the grace and power of the Lord God, the Almighty - Yahweh Elohim Shaddai. Praise God!

These are a few thoughts the Spirit would have me share today.

May the Seed of Light be brought to its full maturation in us, and may the Light and Life within us shine brightly, bringing glory to God Most High! Amen.

Shalom Aleichem!
