Guidance & Love of Yahweh (Numbers 11:1)

Guidance of Yahweh & Loving Yahweh

“You shall love Yahweh Elohenu, therefore you shall keep his charge, his decrees, his ordinances, and his commandments always” (Deuteronomy 11:1).

If we love Yahweh, the Eternal One, we will follow the Living Word of the Eternal One and seek to fulfill the will of the Eternal One; receiving the revelation of Yahweh, the Truth and Light, we will seek to live according to it and so resemble that Truth and Light, and embody it. If we consider the revelations of Eternal One, and the unveilings and self-disclosures of the Eternal One in our hearts and souls, they are manifestations of Divine Attributes, Divine Actions, and we are called to cultivate those Divine Attributes, and to let the Spirit of God take up corresponding actions with, in and through us, we becoming a dwelling place and instrument of the Divine Presence, Holy Shekinah, Holy Spirit. Thus we labor to align our thoughts, words and actions with the Divine Attributes and live in harmony with the Divine Presence, loving the Holy One and seek to fulfill the will of the Holy One, and in this we resemble the Messiah and Holy One, and so we draw near to the Holy One, and it may come to pass that through the mercy and grace of the Holy One we experience conscious union with the Holy One, oneness with the Messiah in God Most High (El Elyon).

Charges, decrees, ordinances and commandments are given as guidance to this end, so that we might have some understanding of how to align our thoughts, words and actions with the Divine Attributes and so draw near to the Holy One, these instructions that are given having a direct correspondence with the Divine Attributes, Divine Actions (Sefirot). According to this verse there are four different manifestations or kinds of instruction that are given to us and we may consider what they are, looking into them to acquire insight.

First let us consider ‘commandments.’ Here we may understand commandments to be those instructions from the Holy One that are universal and enduring, lasting throughout all time. As an example, the Ten Commandments are universal and enduring, as is the commandment to love God and love one another. These remain true, and remain in place, throughout all generations, and their spiritual intention would apply to all revealed religions and authentic wisdom traditions of the world, though perhaps with some their outward utterance and manifestation might differ somewhat from religion to religion, or tradition to tradition; nevertheless they are universal principles of living according to Divine or Enlightened Being, and true spiritual humanity, and they will always remain true.

Then there are ‘ordinances,’ which are similar to commandments, but unlike commandments which are universal and enduring, ordinances are given and are relevant for a limited period of time, more or less, and likewise, directly apply to people of the corresponding revelation - religion or tradition. As an example, various ordinances concerning the building and tending of the tabernacle or temple are no longer relevant, for long ago the outward temple ceased to exist. Those same ordinances applied only to the Jewish people, the Jewish religion, not to Christians, Muslims, or any other peoples and traditions. In this regard ‘commandments’ and ‘ordinances’ are distinct from one another, though in essence they are the same - a law given through revelation, and they serve the same intention, guidance for those seeking to turn to God Most High and drawn near.

There are also decrees, which may be pronouncements of mercy, judgment or compassion, citing what shall come to pass, and these may venture into prophecy and revelation. However, with regard to the Divine Law, decrees are given to spiritual communities or peoples directing them how to respond to specific conditions, or specific situations, circumstances or events that have arisen or that will arise, calling the community or people to actions in accordance with the will of heaven and the Holy One. Thus, a decree extends for a limited duration, and with regard to the Divine Law does not endure as a commandment nor last for a prolonged duration as ordinances do. It corresponds with more immediate Divine Guidance for a community or people.

Finally, there are ‘charges,’ or rather orders from the Holy One. Whereas decrees are given to groups of people - communities, orders are given to individual souls, such as specific forms of devotion, specific works to be done or a mission to be accomplished. Orders may be conveyed directly to the heart of a soul by the Spirit of God, or through an angel of heaven, or through a prophet, apostles or tzaddik. When an order is given by the Holy One to a soul it is as the law to them, though indeed the reception of such holy orders is a manifestation of Divine Grace, the mercy and compassion of God Most High.

As we know, commandments and ordinances are given through prophets and apostles, and ordinances may also be given through tzaddikim, and decrees and orders come through prophets, apostles and tzaddikim, and even when orders are given to a soul directly the holy and enlightened ones bear witness of them in the Spirit and confirm them, recognizing the truth of an order or call through the testimony of the Spirit.

Though indeed it is through the prophets, apostles and tzaddikim that the Word of the Eternal One is spoken to humankind and the Divine Presence is made manifest and revealed in the world, in the Messiah, the Holy Gospel, all who desire it are called to enter into the very same knowledge of God, and so be guided by heaven and the Spirit of God - Spirit of the Messiah. Thus, those who strive with God for the ascent of the soul into higher grades, higher stations and states, and who are willing to pass away in the Infinite and Eternal One, may experience direct revelation, knowledge, of the spiritual essence of the commandments, ordinances, decrees and orders of God Most High, and they may enter the station of the ‘ordinations’ of God Most High. Thus, they may hold the knowledge of the prophets and apostles of God, though unlike a prophet or apostle they are not given the order to unveil and be a messenger to either community or humankind; hence, prophethood or apostleship is not bestowed by the Holy One upon them, but they are among the chosen who are most intimate with the Messiah and Holy One, and are true knowers of God, as are the prophets and apostles.

As you might imagine, what has been taught to us through the prophets and apostles of the Divine Law, along with the Sanctuary of Grace in the Messiah, reveals how souls can co-labor with the Holy Spirit to be uplifted and ascend into higher grades, higher stations and states, and experience greater nearness to the Holy One and realize oneness with the Messiah in the Holy One. Understand, walking with the Lord in this way, loving the Lord through enacting what is good and true with mind, speech and life, the deeper, secret meaning and intention of commandments, ordinances, decrees and orders will be revealed to the soul, guiding the soul to the ‘perfection of turning,’ or full reintegration with the Infinite Light of the Most High, the Supreme.

In closing we may say that ‘remembering’ a commandment corresponds with the knowledge of its spiritual essence held by inner aspects of the soul and revealed to the soul by the Spirit of God., and it is this ‘remembrance’ that brings about complete and perfect ‘keeping’ of the commandment, its true fulfillment as the Holy One intends.

This is enough for now. We shall see how others might be stirred by this contemplation and where the Spirit might carry us.

O Holy One, please reveal to us the spiritual essence of Your laws, and give us understanding of Your Holy Law under Grace, and lead us in the paths of righteousness for your Name’s sake; through Your Divine Grace may Your Will be fulfilled with, in and through us! Amen.

Shalom Aleichem!

My Gospel

#2 Postby Elder Gideon » Sun Oct 14, 2018 10:13 am

Shabbat Shalom, Tau Malachi:

I'm so grateful to the One for elucidating this mystery through you! It essentializes every kind of knowledge of the One—Supernal to individual—as an array I found entirely helpful.

You've essentially distinguished revelation into four zones, how the timeless enters into time. This is a complex problem in history and writing when anything enters into time, for time conditions how and what one hears; moreover, powers in every age will commandeer and corrupt revelation for their own purposes. Moses, Yeshua, and Mohammad brough forth ordinances that were far ahead of their time and place in mercy. I think of examples such as ancient codes of slavery, marriage, cosmology, and the view of nonbelievers. Time moves on, however, and what was so innovative at the inception of the ordinance seems to blend with the new present or worse, ages and the ordinance becomes arbitrary: "religious." If we find ourselves in contemporary life outside of or unable to hear the spiritual essence of commandments, it's for this problem of religion proclaiming ordinances as commandments.

From this bigger picture comes the mystery of how all of this sounds and feels in our individual experience. Decrees surround us as a community; its mores are our consensus. If what's truly goodfor the group—healthy, supple, open-ended—changes from generation to generation, how much more the good of our individual calling from the One, our order? We see in the gospels no one final way to be in The Way, but a variety of circumstances as particular as the individuals hearing them. Yeshua keeps this as open as possible, reducing the Way to the love of the LORD with all one's heart, soul, mind, and strength and one's neighbor as oneself. How one preserves this love is one's gospel. Epistles of St. Paul later repeat according to my gospel. The meaning of the word "gospel" itself is entirely personal to how one hears their liberation. How I will come to liberation will not be how another comes to the same. Something about one's path towards liberation—one's gospel—is inextricable with one's call or order in this life.

The evidence for this comes as the array of one's spiritual gifts as temporary states or enduring stations. In tandem with this is one's capacity to recognize what is good for oneself without comparing with others: "Do not covet" holds even more import in this mystery. Each of us are woven in such a particular way that cannot compare with another. Unique strengths, like spiritual gifts, are from the One. How one returns, like their liberation, is as unique to each as each are unique in the One.

My gospel comes forth from within me as I am in the One. My gospel is my good, inseparable from the good of my community and land, as the LORD's decree. My gospel is my good, sifting what is obsolete from what is relevant of the LORD's ordinance. By these, I hear the First Commandment of the LORD as the "still, small voice of utmost sweetness."

Blessing, Honor, Glory, and Power to the One!

Grace and peace to you from Hayyah Yeshua, the Risen Messiah!

Speaking about the foundation of Anointed Community - “the Church,” St. Paul write in Ephesians:

“So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with [Messiah Yeshua] himself as the cornerstone. In him the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord [Yahweh]; in whom you also are built together spiritually into a dwelling place for God [El, Elohim]” (2:19-22).

Understand, though indeed the Holy Scriptures are inspirations from the Spirit of God and angels, and they do convey something of the knowledge of God and the Divine Law, they are not the fullness of the knowledge of God, and in themselves they are not the Divine Law - they are not the “absolute” word of God as many common folk of faith would propose. Understanding this, though much spiritual guidance and wisdom may be drawn from the Holy Scriptures of the various revelations of God Most High, the Scriptures themselves are not the foundation of Anointed Community, but rather the foundation of Anointed Community is the holy apostles and prophets, and more so the Messiah - the Living Word of God and Spirit of God, which is spoken in the apostles and prophets, and all who receive the Messiah, and speaks through them and as them.

Elsewhere St. Paul writes in 1 Corinthians:

“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one that has been laid; that foundation is [Yeshua Messiah]” (3:11).

So then the foundation of Anointed Community is the Messiah, the Word, the Holy Spirit, and it is those in whom the Word has been conceived and born, in whom the Shekinah of Messiah, the Holy Spirit, dwells.

Regarding the coming of the Messiah, the Word, the Holy Spirit, Jeremiah wrote in prophecy:

“I will put my law within them, I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people” (31:33).

This is the indwelling of the Messiah and Holy Spirit, the unveiling and self-disclosure of God in the heart and soul of the spiritual elect, and with the Messiah and Holy Spirit indwelling and illuminating us - the ‘spiritual Community of Israel,’ so Anointed Community is literally the Body of Christ, Body of Messiah. Wherever Anointed Community is, or any member of that Holy Body, there is the Messiah and the kingdom of heaven manifest on earth, there is the Holy Light and Spirit of God, and all of the gifts, spiritual powers and actions, of that Living Word, Living Spirit.

Understand, our God is a Living God [Elohim Hayyim], and so a Living Presence, Living Word, Living Spirit, in an ongoing revelation and manifestation, and just as there were revelations of God Most High in ancient times, so the revelations of God continue throughout the generations and shall continue until the End-Of-Days. There is no end to the messengers God anoints and sends, no end to the apostles, prophets and knowers of God - anointed tzaddikim, and do understand that all who are gathered into Anointed Community, the Body of the Messiah, share in the very same Holy Anointing, though indeed to each are given diverse gifts of the Spirit and diverse orders, or callings. We do, indeed, draw much inspiration and guidance from the ancient Holy Scriptures, but then we also follow the ongoing revelations we receive of the Truth and Light, and when there is a progress, evolution, in the revelation of God so we follow the new revelation, the ‘new commandments, ordinances, decrees and orders.’ It must be understood that the written Holy Scriptures are not the Word of God, though they may convey something of the Word of God, and it must be understood that they were written thousands of years ago - long ago, in a very different time, different place, among a different peoples in different conditions than our own. Inspired by the Word, the Spirit of God, there is enduring wisdom in them, but then so too there are those things that have become obsolete, unnecessary, and that have been superseded by ongoing revelation and an evolution in human consciousness and knowledge. Just as science, for example, must progress forward, onward, and advance as new knowledge and understanding emerges, so also must religion, spirituality, guided by the Living Word, Living Spirit. Thus, truly, if an apostle, or a prophet, or knower of God speaks today or writes today, it is equal to us with the Holy Scriptures; it is the ongoing revelation of the Word of God, the ongoing inspiration of the Spirit of God, no more and no less than in times past, though indeed given and shared in different ways and conditions outwardly. God continues to speak to us and reveal Godself to us, and give us direct guidance in the Way! Praise God!

In the ongoing revelation of God the commandments abide and endure, and it is the ordinances, decrees and orders that tend to change, though at times, here and there a ‘new commandment’ is given, or rather an evolution or elevation of a commandment. We witness this with Yeshua Messiah and the single commandments he gives, which we know is the essence of all of the commandments so that whoever keeps it keeps all of the commandments; hence, “Love one another as I have loved you,” which is to say love one another as God loves you. This is an evolution, or elevation, of the commandment to love the Lord you God and to love your neighbor as yourself, for now it is to love as God loves; hence, the Messiah and Holy One in you loving with in and through you, and as you. In essence the commandment is not new, but as an evolution, elevation, it is a new commandment. In general it is in this way that new commandments are given, as new revelations of commandments already in place upgrading them, as it were, and bring about a deeper understanding through renewal, revival.

Ordinances may also be evolved or elevated, but then often they are completely changed, the old being discarded as the new are revealed and set into place. An example of an evolution or elevation is with Yohanan the Baptist who took the former Jewish ordinances of bathing for ritual purity and transformed it into ‘baptism,’ a rite of spiritual conversion, transformation, and rebirth - a profound return to God. This same sacred ritual continued with Adonai Yeshua and his disciples after him. An example of casting off old ordinances as new ones come into place is with Messiah Yeshua when he said, “It is not what goes into your mouth that defiles, but it is what comes out of your mouth.” In that teaching Adonai Yeshua cast off all former dietary ordinances as a new way with food and drink was brought in. As we know Adonai Yeshua did this with many ordinances, negating them and drawing out their true spiritual meaning and essence.

Some ordinances, of course, may endure for a long time, while others do not, but when it comes to decrees and orders, generally speaking these exist in a continuum of constant change, constant renewal and evolution. There are some prophetic decrees that are enduring, but for the most part decrees and orders are constantly being given as the Messiah and Holy One are progressively unveiled and disclosed in our hearts and souls; hence an ongoing guidance in the Spirit of God of spiritual community and its individual members.

In this we may indeed understand that while much wisdom and guidance may be drawn from the Holy Scriptures, true religion, true spirituality, comes not from the Scriptures but from ongoing revelation of God, from the Living Word, Living Spirit, that is spoken in the heart and soul of those having received the Messiah - the Anointing with the Holy Light and Spirit of God.

There is, no doubt much more on the subject that might be said, but this seems enough for the moment.

May our ‘house’ be well built upon the Rock that is God Almighty (El Shaddai) and the Anointing (Messiah)! Amen.

Shalom Aleichem!

Blessings in the Holy Light and Spirit of the Messiah, the Anointing!

I’m inclined to share something more regarding commandments, ordinances, decrees and orders. First, though, it must be said that according to our Kabbalah there are relatively few actual commandments and in our teachings much that is called or translated as “commandments” are what we would call ‘ordinances.’ The original commandment ‘Be’ through which living spirits and souls are called into being from ‘non-existence’ or ‘pre-existent eternity’ is understood as an actual Divine commandment, as are the ten commandments, and the commandment to love the Holy One and to love one another. These are Divine commandments, universal, unchanging, and so enduring. All of the rest, though, correspond with ordinances, decrees and orders. We can say, however, that within commandments there are various implied commandments, and so further commandments. As an example, the commandment “Do not bear false witness” may be considered to contain commandments concerning all modes of negative and hateful speech, such as idle chatter, gossip, backbiting, slander, and so on; hence, false or impure use of the power of speech. Ultimately, though, love is the very essence of all commandments, and they are all founded upon it, so that we may say anything the goes against love is a breech of the commandments.

Having said this, there is a passage in the Gospel of St. Mark that is worthy of our consideration, one in which Adonai Yeshua directly negates an old ordinance gives a new ordinance concerning divorce.

Some Pharisees came, and to test him they asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorces his wife?” He answered them, “What did Moses command you?” They said, “Moses allowed a man to write a certificate of dismissal and divorce her.” But [Yeshua] said to them, “Because of the hardness of your heart he wrote this commandment for you. But from the beginning of creation ‘[Elohim] made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what [Elohim] has joined together, let no one separate” (10:2-9).

Adonai Yeshua was responding to a grave social injustice in his time. According to the old ordinance women had no say, had no legal rights, in matters of divorce, and in that day it was very common for men to divorce their wives and take other, younger women as wives, leaving their divorced wives in an outcast status and often in a state of destitution. Negating the old ordinance and setting in place a new one was a matter of compassion and brought some justice, and it is reasonable to assume that if Adonai Yeshua walked among us today he would have something more, something different to say, and might very well speak another ordinance concerning this issue.

What is significant, however, with regards to our contemplation is what he says of the “commandment,” or rather ordinance, given by Moses: “Because of the hardness of your heart he wrote this commandment for you.” Understand, the revelations of God, the knowledge of God, of the prophets and apostles, or great tzaddikim, in any generation extends far beyond what many among the people are able and willing to accept and receive, and as such many ordinances are given in consideration of the limitations of the faithful and society of the day, drawing them as far forward as possible in progress to that Truth and Love that God Is, but not as far as that Truth and Love can carry souls in their ascent; hence, because of a ‘hardness of heart.’ This is for the sake of faithful humankind - common folks of faith, or the ‘mixed multitude’; but naturally, spiritual humanity, the spiritual elect, guided by the Spirit of God, will go beyond such ordinances in progress to the realization of the Truth and Light. Likewise, in that the the revelation of God is ongoing, the Word and Spirit of God are a Living Presence, as peoples progress, and the collective consciousness progresses, so new ordinances are given, and new decrees and orders, all as may be accepted and received by the people.

Such things as genocide, slavery, inequality between men and women, or persecution of people of various sexual orientations, all ordinances concerning such matters are all because of a ‘hardness in heart’ or a lack of the fullness of the Love of God and awareness of the Truth of the Absolute Oneness of God. In the modern era who, having the Christ Spirit, the Messiah Spirit, and the Love of Christ, could possibly advocate in favor of these sorts of ancient ordinances given because of ‘hardness of heart,’ or human ignorance and its stubbornness that resists the fullness of the Love of God, the Truth and Light of God? Yet, look and see, even today in the 21st Century such hardness of heart, such sheer ignorance abounds, so that many among the faithful cannot hear and receive the ongoing revelation of God, and in fact many among the common folks of faith would deny and reject proclamations of the Living Word and Spirit of God given through prophets and apostles, the messengers God sends.

Among knowers of God, among spiritual Christians - ‘gnostics,’ though, there is a continual progress in revelation of the Gospel and God, and of necessity, as the Living Word and Spirit inspire, there is an evolution of ordinances, and the issuance of new decrees and orders. Yet truly, when the Messiah and Holy Spirit is the doer of our actions, and so the Messiah and Holy One is our guide in the Way - the True Guide, there is need for few set ordinances, but by way of decrees and orders in the midst of what’s happening we are guided, that and by the wisdom of the commandments that is gifted to us by the Spirit.

Following the guidance of the Holy Spirit in faith and love, so we love Yahweh, the Eternal One, and we love one another.

These were a few further thoughts I was inclined to share this morning.

May we follow the good guidance of the Living Word and Spirit in the Way, and live according to the Truth and Light revealed to us! Amen.

Yeshua Shalom!
