Fifth & Sixth Books of Pistis Sophia

In response to a question:

The Fifth and Sixth Books of the Pistis Sophia are not actually part of the Pistis Sophia tradition proper, but rather represent a later addition. There are veiled mysteries in these two books, however there is also a significant amount of misdirection by mistatement of Pistis Sophia teachings.

The most obvious example is how Yew or Jeu is spoken of in these two books - as though the "Father of the Savior," which reflects a veiled term in the Books of Jeu themselves, which call Jeu the "True God." However, the translation "True God" in English is sorely misleading - the proper translation would be better put as True Divine Being, indicating the state of Christhood or the state of supernal or Messianic consciousness. In this state one experiences Jeu (Hua) and a conscious unification with God and Godhead; hence the First Mystery.

The use a the names of pagan deities is also misleading, for what is actually meant by these names are specific Light-emanations at the level of Beriyah and Yetzirah. Using the names of pagan deities, however, these books relate that the gods and goddeses of pagan worship are lesser divinities under the dominion of the demiurgos and archons, some of which might well serve the Divine Will and Light-kingdom but many of which do not. Specifically, it relates that one would no more worship such lesser divinities than one would worship archangels or angels - hence that the soul of Light is, in fact, exalted beyond their dominion and power in the Christos.

This there are mysteries and teachings contained in these books, though they are thickly veiled and obscured. Even several mystic rites are given in them, but in a jumbled way.

As for the Books of Jeu, though our tradition draws upon certain parts of these holy books, we use an oral tradition surrounding Hua and the Tree of Life in place of them - thus much that appears in the Books of Jeu is not studied or actively used in our lineage. What is more commonly studied is the Hebrew Book of Enoch which is focused on Metatron (Hua) and directly links to the Kabbalah of our lineage.

Dear Sar Ormus,

As far as I know the 5th and 6th books of the Pistis Sophia may be found in most English translations of the Pistis Sophia, such as the one by G.R.S Mead, though I do not know about any translations into your language. You might check with a metaphysical bookstore or online :-)
