Creation and Salvation

#1 Postby Elder Gideon » Sun Dec 20, 2015 10:18 am

Shabbat Shalom, Tau Malachi!

Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses’ father-in-law, heard of all that Elohim had done for Moses and for his people Israel, how YHVH had brought Israel out of Egypt (Exodus 18:1).

Rabbi Hiyya said, "This verse calls for contemplation. At first is written all that Elohim had done for Moses, and afterward is written that YHVH had brought out. Well, this is the secret: all Elohim had done—this name that protected Moses and Israel, never departing from them in exile. Afterward, the supreme Name brought them out of Egypt, for the holy Name that brought them forth inhered in the mystery of Jubilee (Zohar II:68a).

As we entered this verse, you shared something I'd not heard before, something so essential and powerful: "Elohim is Creation. YHVH is salvation."

I have been spinning this ever since. Companions also had many rich insights into what this looks like in Exodus as well as for us all in our own journey. All that Elohim had done is the process by which individuals and communities come to the transcendent, how YHVH will bring out. Respectively, Elohim is Binah doing; YHVH is Hokmah bringing out. One can't help but also hear how Elohim is the Law by which all is done, revealing YHVH bringing out by Grace all the while. There's no separating these layers, so long as one first submits to self-restraint (Elohim doing) to consciously release into Jubilee (YHVH bringing out).

There's something of the Mother I'm hearing with all that Elohim had done and what She alone can reveal of YHVH bringing out. As we're approaching the Feast of the Mother and Child, I hoped you might have more to share of this delicate and lovely mystery of Elohim as Creation and YHVH as Salvation.

Shabbat Shalom!

Thank you, Elder Gideon, for bringing this teaching to the forum. I too am finding delights in what Tau Malachi has gifted. Praise to the Queen of Shabbat!

We had before heard that YHVH is salvation, the blessed name Yeshua tells us this. However, there is something new being felt in this teaching. Salvation, redemption, becoming free of bondage, is an experience of YHVH in creation. If my recollection is proper, I believe today Tau Malachi taught us that YHVH is transcendent of creation, yet YHVH is also within creation as redemption.

Something else is arising in thought.

Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven has come near.

It has been said that teshuvah is redirecting our desire energy, turning our energies away from what is not God, directing them towards God. Can we say that teshuvah, repentance, is the vehicle of connection to knowing YHVH? So that teshuvah represents our co-labor for our redemption?

It also comes to mind to ask if redemption and teshuvah are one in Supernal Awareness? Just as mercy and judgement are one.

Anything that can be shared, or any corrections offered, will be received with gratitude.

Grace and peace to you in Messiah Yeshua!

Elohim is the Name of God in creation, the Holy Name through which creation arises and is sustained, and Yahweh is the Name of God in revelation and redemption. If we look into the story of creation in Genesis the Name of Elohim appears thirty-two times, thirty-two indicating the full array of the Tree of Life, Sefirot and Netivot; thus, Elohim speaking creation into being corresponds with the issuance, influxes, of the Sefirot and Netivot through which creation, formation and action arise, and through which all creation is sustained. As we know, in the first chapter of Genesis there is the creation of humankind in the image and likeness of Elohim, male and female distinct from one another, but then in chapter two there is another story of the creation of the Human One (Adam) in the garden of Eden as male and female in one body, the distinction, separation, of male and female happening later, and in this generation of humanity the Holy Name of Yahweh Elohim appears, Yahweh Elohim breathing into the Human One, gifting life and light, a living soul (hayyah nefesh), and we may say gifting a fiery intelligence, something of the Spirit of God (Ruach Elohim, Ruach Yahweh). This is the first appearance of the Great Name of Yahweh in the Holy Torah, and the Human One who has the “breath of the Lord God,” this fiery intelligence, knows the Lord and has knowledge of mysteries of creation and the powers of all creatures, and is able to speak them, name them, invoke them; through the fiery intelligence in the Human One there is the revelation of mysteries of creation and God, knowledge of creation and God, in a most intimate communion.

Now, in this passage of the Zohar, while indeed Elohim may be interpreted as Binah, the interior Shekinah, so also Elohim may be interpreted as Malkut, the exterior Shekinah. Look and see, the passage speaks of Elohim in “exile” with the children of Israel and, as is known, the Holy Shekinah in exile corresponds with Malkut, the exterior Shekinah. In the Zohar, most often, Yahweh corresponds with Tiferet, thus in this passage, on one level, Elohim and Yahweh correspond with Malkut and Tiferet, the Bride and Groom, or Daughter and Son.

Listen and hear, and understand! When the children of Israel and Holy Shekinah are in exile, Tiferet and Malkut are not properly joined, and this corresponds with the manifestation of Judgment and bondage; when there is deliverance from bondage, when there redemption, salvation - Mercy, and the Holy Shekinah returns from her exile, and the children of Israel return with her, this corresponds with the proper union of Tiferet and Malkut, Groom and Bride - male and female. This complete unification of Tiferet and Malkut brings knowledge of God - Da’at, which corresponds with Yahweh Elohim.

Through revelation there is knowledge of God, Da’at, and it is the knowledge of God that is salvation, or rather, conscious unification with God, the Eternal One, which is the enlightenment and liberation of souls.

As is known, a stirring below creates a stirring above, the union of the Groom and Bride below bring about revelation of the union of the Supernal Father and Supernal Mother. Da’at is generated through the union of Father (Abba) and Mother (Imma), and through union of the Groom and Bride, the Groom and Bride they ascend to Da’at, realize Da’at, the knowledge of God, and along with knowledge, as souls return to God in this way, as souls awaken and ascend in this way, there is also understanding and wisdom of God - full enlightenment and liberation, true salvation!

Tiferet, of course, is the Sefirah of the Messiah, and the Shin in the Blessed Name of Yeshua corresponds with the full awakening of the fiery intelligence in us, the full reception of the Holy Spirit and unification with the Holy Shekinah. Understand, “male” is inwardness, our inner being, and “female” is outwardness, our outer being, and the radiant, magical display of our being, our soul, arising as the reality of our experience, so inside and outside, and this is true for men and women alike, there is “male” and “female,” and they need to be unified, harmonized. In the unenlightened condition, in the illusion of separation, inside and outside appear separate from one another, there is a complete apparent separation between subject and object, and inner and outer space and what appears in them. As souls receive the Holy Spirit and awaken, though, they are able to recognize the innate unity of the inside and outside, and are able to harmonize the outside with the inside, and living according to inwardness, the inner being, the indwelling Messiah and Holy Spirit, there is an experience of nearness to God and unification with God - knowledge of God, or embodiment of God Consciousness; this is the salvation of souls. This naturally corresponds with the purification, shedding, letting go, of anything and everything not in harmony with the inner being, the inwardness of the soul, anything and everything that is not in harmony with God, the True Light, certainly so!

Here we can say that Elohim corresponds with the continuum of ever-becoming, the matrix of creation, and Yahweh corresponds with the continuum of being - bornless being, eternal being; in truth, being and becoming are inseparable from one another (Yahweh Elohim), but this must be recognized and realized, the being of the becoming must be recognize and realized, embodied - this is transcendence, liberation!

Here I’m inclined to pause, and abide, waiting upon the Spirit of the Lord.

May we be blessed to recognize and realize the Eternal One (Yahweh) within and behind all that appears and all that transpires, and so realize our innate unity with the Infinite One, the Holy One of Being! Amen.

Shalom Aleichem!
