Adam from Adamah

#1 Postby Elder Gideon » Sat Mar 15, 2014 9:18 am

Shalom!

Then the YHVH Elohim formed [the human one] from the dust of the ground, and breathed into its nostrils the breath of life; and the [human one] became a living being (Genesis 2:7).

I'm taken by beautiful word in Hebrew for ground, adamah, from which everything is formed that has form. It is literally the word Spirit-in-the Blood, Adam, with the addition of a letter Heh, making it feminine. The word for land, aretz, is also feminine. Because the ground is feminine, I wished to explore this in this particular forum, for its implications are potent.

We'll remember that context, in the contemplation of scripture in our lineage, is often attributed to the feminine. One can perhaps justify Adam, Human One, being called he or man by this feminine context of the ground, adamah. Gender in the most abstract sense may be very subtly implied between adamah giving form to Adam, who in turn flips this mystery when from 'him' is taken the bone that will make 'her', Havah (Eve).

It is marvel when one relaxes into these earliest chapters of Bereshit, how dreamlike and immaterial they really are: an immense, poetic metaphor of quantum realities, the metaphysical structure of the physical plane. The context of the dust forming the Human One is itself a grand question: If dust is the finest stratum of eroded, physical matter, from where did the dust come to form Adam? This scripture clearly answers this: The ground of course!

Stepping back, back, back, and seeing what Elohim is doing throughout chapters 1 and 2, Creation seems to be a series of separations and distinctions making possible individuality which at the same time allows for greater degrees of the illusion of separation. Detail and specificity very much characterize how I'm now hearing Creation ongoing, particularly through human inquiry: The more we learn, map, and understand, the deeper, the more subtle, how infinitely large or small all parts comprising reality are. Because of this gap between the largest and smallest, contending schools in contemporary physics cannot yet proffer how a 'unified field' holds this all together. Perhaps we will never find a 'ground' to it all at all. And yet here we are, aware of the question! Somehow, 'ground' is a word for where everything appears, suspended in nothingness.

So I'd ask what more have Masters of our Tradition found in this contemplation of adamah, ground, as context, our Beloved Sophia? What relationship has ground with how we use another word, Continuum?

Gratefully,

Elder Gideon

Grace and peace to you in Yeshua Messiah!

Adamah is an intriguing word, Adam with the addition of the letter He. As we know, He corresponds with the Holy Shekinah – the Living Presence, and as a word for “ground” or “dust of the earth” this implies the Lower Shekinah, and implies the presence or intelligence of God in creation and in nature. On one level, if Adam is formed of Adamah, we may understand the principle of an evolution of life driven by a presence or intelligence of God in creation and in nature, Adam formed of Adamah indicating an evolution of life forms that gives rise to humankind, or intelligent and self-aware life that is able to return to God, or to embody God Consciousness. When Yahweh Elohim breathes hayyah neshamah into the humankind that emerges in evolution, this may be understood as a shift from an unconscious evolution to a capacity for conscious evolution; hence, the gift of the Fiery Intelligence, the Holy Spirit, through which we are able to seek God and return to God.

Look and see! We are woven of heaven and earth, soul and body – a continuum of consciousness and a continuum of matter, or being and becoming; heaven and earth, consciousness and matter, intersect in us, and through becoming, creative evolution, heaven, consciousness, is awakened, our true being is realized.

There is a twofold manifestation of the Holy Spirit and Shekinah in this, below and above, the evolution of life below, the formation of vessels below, and influxes from above, revelation from above, as life evolves, or vessels form, to receive it. This is Adam formed of Adamah, the emergence of human beings that can receive and embody the Holy Spirit and Shekinah in full; hence, the ascension of souls into God Consciousness, or the realization of innate unity with the Infinite One, Yahweh Elohim.

Consider what is recognized and realized in the experience of God Consciousness, that God is in everything and everything is in God; likewise, that the Supernal Light that is above, is everywhere here below, and is the secret center of every particle of matter – “dust.” In this we realize that the appearance of separation is illusory, and that we have never been separate from the Infinite One, Yahweh, “That Which Was, Is and forever Shall Be.”

Understanding this you may intuit a deeper, esoteric mystery in Adamah, for the letter He equals five, and on an esoteric level may be understood as alluding to the five yesodot, the five primordial elements of consciousness. As we know, when a soul is able to abide in full unification with the Clear Light – the simple Primordial Light, the yesodot arise in their innate purity, and the Great Vision of Melchizedek arises, and with it the generation of the Threefold Body – Body of Truth, Body of Glory and Body of Pure Emanation. This corresponds with a full rebirth from above, and with the enlightenment and liberation of the soul, Supernal or Messianic Consciousness, the realization of I Am (Eheieh); hence, the fullness of God Consciousness.

Thus, Adam formed from Adamah indicates the Supernal Human Being – Supernal Humanity; a divine or enlightened humanity.

This divinity, this enlightenment, is the true nature of all human beings; hence, the breath of Yahweh Elohim in us, hayyah neshamah, which when realized and embodied generates hayyah nefesh, a “living one,” an “immortal” – the realization of bornless being, I Am.

The play of masculine and feminine with Adam and Adamah indicates the Being of the Becoming, and indicates an awakened soul, a realized soul, embodied; hence, a return to God through the full embodiment of God Consciousness as we see in our Elder Brother, Messiah Yeshua, and in our Elder Sister, Lady Mirya.

This embodiment of the awakened soul, or God Consciousness, is preordained, predestined – it is the Original Intention of God in creation, Ratzon Elyon; from the very beginning God set this into motion, and the Spirit of God will bring this to fruition. In this we may understand that salvation is universal, and that all will eventually return to God, all will eventually be enlightened and liberated. Praise God!

There is something more that we may share concerning the mystery of Adam formed from Adamah. We may understand Adamah as the collective, and an unconscious unity – herd consciousness, and we may understand Adam as the unique individual, and individuation. Conscious unification with God – God Consciousness, comes through our realization of our unique individuality, and individuation; for only when our unique individuality is realized can we merge with the universal and the Infinite One and remain an individual, remain awake and aware.

Thus, Adonai Yeshua teaches us that, “the path is narrow that leads to life,” indicating the realization of our unique essence, yechidah, or our bornless being, I Am.

If we understand the need for individuation, and the realization of our unique individuality, then we may understand Judgment, or Gevurah, in a very different light, and perhaps may gain insight into Gevurah of Atzilut, for it is through Gevurah that individuation occurs and our unique individuality is realized. I mention this because the color red is indicated by Adamah, and red is the color that corresponds with Gevurah in the Holy Kabbalah.

In closing we can also speak another mystery concerning Adamah. Adamah is the name of one of the seven earths, the one nearest to Eretz, the earth in which we live. I’ve shared some basic teachings on the seven earths elsewhere in the “Order of St. Uriel” forum. Here, though, we may recall that Adamah is a very magical realm, and that in it one can discern the spirit of all things and their hidden or magical powers, and with this knowledge one can invoke those spirits, or angels, and their spiritual powers, and can direct those spiritual powers in the play of wonderworking, moving with the Spirit of God, Ruach Elohim, as a co-creator and co-redeemer. Adam being formed of Adamah alludes to this power that is actualize and realized in us as we awaken and return to God – this power of a true human being, a man or woman of God. Enacted according to Ratzon Elyon, the Will of the Supreme, this corresponds with our capacity to draw into things their spiritual essence and power, and to awaken and draw out the divinity that is within everything; hence, the human being awakening and uplifting all creation in return to God.

This, of course, is an esoteric understanding of Adam “naming” all creatures.

O Holy One, blessed are you, and blessed is your Name, and in your name, Yahweh Elohim, may we call out the name of all things as they are in you. Amen.

Shabbat Shalom!

Greetings Tau Malachi and Elder Gideon!

I’ve been stalking this thread since Gideon’s first post on the subject. I’ve been contemplating this Adamah and all that has been said.
I find it fascinating that Adamah is Adam with a Heh added to the end. We know that Adam’s meaning is spirit-in-the-blood. The letter Heh denotes window or something that lets things pass through.

I am hearing that that nature and creation as aspects of Shekinah are what allow God’s presence to shine through into the humanity. This makes me think that this teaching points to what we are made up of is the vehicle or access point for conscious evolution. My mind went to a vision of us opening a window in ourselves through the desire to know God and ourselves. This window opens and the True Light shines in and transforms. This window is in every particle of our being.

There seems to be a great mystery in the fact that Adamah is the unconscious unity where Adam is individuation. I see the Bridal Chamber with Adam and Adamah joined – the windows wide open – and we become an individual in unity. I can’t help but think of the thread where Tau Malachi and Elder Sarah are discussing this exact concept of being awake in Union (viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3029).

As always I’m blown away by the beauty of these teachings. Amazing simplicity with such complex ramifications!

Shalom, Yonah

Greetings and blessings in the Holy Light of the Messiah!

Yes, indeed, at first the Spirit of God labors in secret, and the evolution of life, consciousness, is largely subconscious and unconsciousness in much of creation, which we see in the mineral and vegetable realms, and throughout a large part of the animal realm, and then shifting from the animal realm into the human realm the evolution of life, consciousness, becomes semiconscious and can become fully conscious – a conscious evolution becoming possible in humanity. As souls pass through incarnations in these various realms evolution becomes more and more conscious, there is a growing presence of awareness and intelligence, and an evolution of the force of desire, or will, and an increasing co-creative capacity.

This is entirely reflected within the human realm, for as we know there are three “races,” or three gradations of human development and evolution, the bestial or material, the faithful or psychic, and spiritual humanity, and with the coming of the Messiah there is a fourth “race,” one that is more than human, one that is supernal and divine, enlightened. The bestial or humankind is largely unconscious, driven by the bestial nature, nefesh behamit, and the drive for material life and material things, with little, if any, desire for conscious evolution, a return to God, or enlightenment. The faithful or psychic humanity is semiconscious, having a religious impulse, and a desire for God, or enlightenment, and so engages in a somewhat conscious evolution, putting forth some effort in the Path of Return, though still in a strong delusion of lack, or illusion of separation. Then there is spiritual humanity in which a zeal or passion to return to God, or seek enlightenment has arisen, and a growing sense of nearness and oneness, and therefore a greater drive for conscious evolution, more or less, hence the mystics that appear among us. Then, from among spiritual humanity, are those who awaken, those who experience conscious unification, more or less, and who venture beyond mental being and mental consciousness into God Consciousness, or Supernal, Supramental Consciousness.

Look and see! These stages of the development and evolution of souls are reflected in the spiritual journey of each and every one of us, from the outset of the path, through the generation stage to the fruition state. We all begin, more or less, in the ignorance, and at the outset, whatever the stirring or awakening in our soul, we are largely unconscious and without self-awareness, self-knowledge. Then, as we are set upon the path, receive our spiritual education, take up the spiritual life and practice, and acquire experience and skill we become semiconscious, our awareness, intelligence, and various human qualities grow and increase, and more and more an actual conscious evolution emerges, and our evolution accelerates, and we acquire the zeal, the passion, for a return to God, or for enlightenment, and we seek it with the full force of our being, our life, and through Divine Grace we may awake and ascend.

Within and behind all of this, from the unconscious evolution, to the semiconscious evolution, to the full conscious evolution, is the Spirit of God, or Divine Intelliegence, driving, inspiring, an evolution to the Highest of Life, or a return of all to God, the enlightenment and liberation of all. All of this is the manifestation of the Spirit of God as Adamah, and as Nature, and we may say that Nature, and “Adamah,” is becoming conscious of herself in humanity, and that the Spirit of God, Ruach Elohim, Ruach Yahweh, is becoming awakened and realized, and embodied. The ultimate fruition of this evolution, of course, we behold in the Christ, the Buddha, the Avatar; hence, a Divine or Enlightened Humanity, one that embodies divinity or enlightenment in full. This is the awakening and realization of Supernal Adam, and Adam Kadmon, as discussed elsewhere, and whether aware of this or not, all living beings are involved in this, every single one of us is part of this creative evolution, this Great Ascension, returning to God, the True Light.

The He in Adamah has everything to do with the development and evolution of awareness, intelligence, and the force of desire, will, for the Highest of Life, and for the realization and embodiment of this Living Presence that we call God, or the Divine; and it is through embodiment that souls awaken and ascend, and return to God, fulfilling Ratzon Elyon, the Will of the Supreme.

In this we may contemplate something Adonai Yeshua said to a group of Pharisees, “These stones will become children of Abraham before you are able to enter into the kingdom of heaven.” What if, rather than proposing that the souls of these religious men would never return to God, the Master was teaching of this greater journey and evolution of souls through the mineral, vegetable, animal and human kingdoms into the kingdom of God – God Consciousness, and he was saying that even the life within stones, dust, sand, and such, will evolve and be uplifted in return to God? This exactly is our view and understanding of his teaching, though, indeed, if his words were literal and true, those souls to whom he spoke had countless lives ahead of them before their eventual enlightenment and liberation. God help them!

This view, or vision, of creative evolution, and an evolution without end, going into the Infinite One (Ain Sof), is, of course, at the very heart of the Gospel of the Second Coming of Christ in Glory, an the awareness of an ongoing revelation and embodiment of the Divine, an ongoing realization of the Christ-Spirit. When we understand this view, this vision, so we become aware of the Cosmic Christ and Primordial Christ, and we become aware that we are called to embody the Christ-Spirit in full just as our Elder Brother, Yeshua did, and so also our Elder Sister, Mirya did; this, in fact, is what faith in the Magdalene means, that we believe we are also destined to embody the Christ, destined to be and become Christ, the Anointed.

When we receive our anointing with the Holy Light and Spirit of the Infinite One, though, this requires a conscious evolution, a zealous and passionate pursuit of the spiritual life and spiritual practice, the Path of Return; and if we understand the priceless, precious opportunity we have in this life, having encountered a lineage of Light Transmission and received our anointing, we will engage in a conscious evolution with full passion, the full force of our desire, our will, joined to the Spirit of God, and enacting the will of God.

In this regard, consider the original followers of the Way before the spirit of the Other Side took over Christianity and the Church, and doctrines, rites and rituals were set in place of a true conscious evolution into Christ, and a lukewarm spirituality and faith replaced zeal for the realization of the kingdom of heaven; they were zealous, passionate for the Lord, and for the kingdom of heaven, and they lived the Life Divine with the full force of their life, their being, even unto the hour of their death. The enlightenment and liberation of such as these is assured, for they embodied the Truth and Light of the Risen Christ and Ascended Christ, and walking with God in this life, cleaving in faith and love, so in death the Christ-Spirit uplifted them in the Great Resurrection and Ascension.

If we will walk with God, cleaving in faith and love, so the Christ-Spirit will uplift us. This is the promise we have in Christ, this is our hope in Christ, and this was ordained, predestined, from the very outset of creation; hence, the intention of Yahweh Elohim in the creation of the Human Being, and all the generations of Humanity. Praise God!

May Ratzon Elyon be fulfilled among us! Amen.

Shabbat Shalom!
