Tzavaot: The Hosts of Heaven, and other hosts

#1 Postby Tau Malachi » Wed Mar 08, 2017 4:20 pm

Tzavaot: The Hosts of Heaven

Tzavaot is a Name of God that indicates the Divine Action of the Supernal One through the spiritual powers of heaven, angelic hosts, armies, orders or choirs; specifically it is the action of the Holy One overcoming and vanquishing wickedness and evil through the angels of heaven, but includes all Divine Actions through angels. As is known, among the angelic beings there are archonic angels, impure, admixed spiritual powers, and there are demonic angels, evil, dark and hostile spiritual powers, and at times the Name of Tzavaot extends to these, so as know the Spirit of God (Ruach Elohim) acts in secret through archonic and demonic forces, even concealed from the forces themselves, during movements of Strict Judgment. We see this in the Holy Scriptures when the children is Israel turn away from the Holy One, falling into sin, wickedness, cleaving to klippot, husks of impurity and darkness, and the archonic angels - angelic chieftains of other nations, are given power over them, and likewise, at times even demons, angels of Satan. Thus, truly, as we find in esoteric gospels, there is Tzavaot the Good and Tzavaot the Evil. As a Name of Eternal One, though, Tzavaot indicates the angels of heaven, the angels that serve the Infinite and Eternal One, seeking to fulfill Ratzon Elyon, the will of the Supernal One.

You will notice, however, that generally speaking, except for passing, indirect references to angelic hosts, Tzavaot does not stand alone in the Holy Scriptures, and in this regard is different than all of the other principle Names of God, such as Yah, Yahweh, El, Elohim, Shaddai, Adonai and so on. Instead this Name of God appears with Yahweh or Elohim, or Yahweh Elohim, indicating Divine Actions of the Holy One through the hosts of heaven in Mercy, Judgment and Compassion, respectively; first, because as we have mentioned, because Tzavaot extends to angelic forces of the Other Side, “Tzavaot the Evil,” and second, to prevent the error of idolatry - the worship of angels, spirits, or forces of nature, as though “gods” and “goddesses,” some sort of separate and independent divinity apart from the Infinite One.

Here we may add that the power of Tzavaot also extends to the spiritual powers of celestial spheres and constellations, their intelligences and spirits, and as we know, within and behind all things in creation there is an angel and a star, or constellation, driving the life, the growth and existence, and movements of things, all receiving their spiritual power from Yahweh (Eternal One) through Elohim, the manifestation of the Infinite and Eternal as the All Powerful One.

Understanding this, in prayer and invocation, and contemplation and meditation, except as a passing, indirect reference to the angels of heaven, Tzavaot does not stand along, is not invoked alone, but rather Yahweh Tzavaot, Elohim Tzavaot, or Yahweh Elohim Tzavaot is invoked, and in the invocation our focus is not on Tzavaot - the angels, nor do we cleave to the angels, but rather we cleave to the Supernal One, the Infinite and Eternal alone.

There are many teachings, instructions, that are drawn out from this wisdom of Tzavaot not standing alone, not being invoked alone, but here I’m inclined to pause, allow time for contemplation of the teaching given, and to wait upon the Holy Spirit to drawn out further teachings. This is enough for the moment, as for some this is a new pointing out and it is good for them to consider it before going on.

O Holy One, may we receive revelations of You through Your heavenly hosts, and may we acquire the wisdom of Makom - You as the Place of All! Amen.

Grace and peace you in in the Holy Light of the True Cross!

The Name of God, Tzavaot, corresponds with the Triad of Action, Yahweh Tzavaot corresponds with Netzach-Victory and Elohim Tzavaot corresponds with Hod-Glory, and these Holy Names correspond with heavenly hosts manifest in Judgment and Mercy, respectively, and likewise correspond with the wrathful and peaceful palaces of the Holy Shekinah. Understanding this, you will understand that Yahweh Elohim Tzavaot corresponds with the heavenly hosts manifest in Compassion, and with the blissful palace of the Holy Shekinah, and this is the Holy Name that indicates the entire array of heavenly hosts, and all hosts, angelic beings and spirits, that serve the kingdom of heaven and the Continuum of Light Transmission - the Messiah, the Anointing.

As is known, the Holy Name of Shaddai - the Almighty, and its variations, corresponds with Yesod-Foundation, but as the unification of Netzach and Hod, Yahweh Elohim Tzavaot may also be understood to correspond with Yesod, and therefore may be understood as the spiritual power of the interior of Yesod, the inner dimension of Shaddai. Something of this secret mystery is revealed in the Book of Apocalypse, which conveys a vision of the Second Coming of the Messiah in the End-Of-Days, and reveals the vast array of Tzavaot manifest in full force to bring about the culmination and fulfillment of Ratzon Elyon, the will of the Supernal One in this world. Indeed, for the Name of the Supernal One given in the Book of Apocalypse is Yahweh Elohim Shaddai, Shaddai indicating the manifestation of the full force of Tzavaot - heaven and the angels.

As is also known, there are three variations of the Name of Shaddai that correspond with Yesod, and they indicate the manifestation of Tzavaot, whether in Mercy, Judgment or Compassion; hence, El Shaddai, corresponding with Mercy, Shaddai corresponding with Judgment, and Shaddai El Hai, corresponding with Compassion. Thus, whether manifest in Mercy, Judgement or Compassion, the force of Tzavaot (Netzach-Hod) is manifest through Yesod, and there is the corresponding manifestation of Malkut-Kingdom, or the Holy Shekinah - Adonai.

Concerning the Holy Name of Yahweh Elohim, Shaddai; Yahweh Elohim correspond with the unification of Mercy and Judgment, the fullness of Compassion, and therefore joined with Shaddai this implies a manifestation of Compassion. The distinction between Shaddai El Hai and Yahweh Elohim Shaddai, though, is a direct, versus indirect, influx of the Supernals; hence, Yahweh Elohim Shaddai corresponds with Supernal Compassion, a direct influx of the Supernals. This corresponds with the Messiah - the Anointing with the Holy Light and Spirit, not given through Tzavaot - the angels, but through Divine Incarnation, the direct Utterance of Yahweh Elohim, the Eternal God, the Bornless One. Praise God!

Now, understanding the meaning of Tzavaot you will understand that this Holy Name encompassed all hosts, all spiritual beings, forces, of the Realm of Perud (separation), Beriyah, Yetzirah and Asiyah, reaching into all supernal beings, forces, of the Realm of Yichud (unity), Adam Kadmon and Atzilut; if Tzavaot “stands alone,” is invoked alone, then it is an invocation in separation, as in the way of sorcery, witchcraft and false prophecy, but when joined with another Name of God, then it is an invocation in unity - the Infinite and Eternal One. If in separation, devoid of the awareness of Sacred Unity and cleaving to the Holy One, then what is invoked is Tzavaot of the Other Side (Tzavaot Ahara) - klippot, but if in unity, the awareness of the Sacred Unity underlying all things and cleaving to the Holy One, then what is invoked is Tzavaot of Heaven, (Tzavaot Shamaim, Tzavaot Tov) - spiritual powers of the Sefirot.

As you might imagine Mekubalim and Tzaddikim hold knowledge of the way of sorcery and witchcraft - the way of those who serve and invoke the spirit of the Other Side, for to have knowledge of the Holy One and Ha-Shem (The Name), and the Tree of Life, is to also have knowledge of the “Dragon,” or Serpent, and the Tree of Death - the klippot, or “fig leaves.” Having knowledge of the Holy One and Ha-Shem, though, Mekubalim and Tzaddikim have the power to overcome the spells, enchantments, and such, of sorcery and witchcraft, for through cleaving to the Holy One and blessing Ha-Shem, and invoking the proper corresponding Name of the Holy One and corresponding powers of Shamaim - heaven, they can negate klippot and diminish and neutralize the power of sorcery and witchcraft.

Understand, in the way of sorcery and witchcraft, corresponding with Tzavaot Ahara, there is no worship of the One God - the Eternal God (Yahweh Elohim), and so no knowledge of cleaving to the Supernal One (Eheieh, El Elyon), but rather certain angels, and spirits, and celestial spheres and constellations, and spirits of animals and forces of nature, are worshipped and called “gods” and “goddesses,” and these spiritual forces are invoked to bring about contradictions of the natural order, to work magic, in self-will and for self-glorification, not to enact the will of the Supreme, not for the glorification of the Supreme (Elyon). As is known, however, the existence of all things, the power of all things, comes from the Eternal All Powerful One (Yahweh Elohim), and nothing has existence, power, apart from the Supernal One; therefore, cleaving to the Supernal One, the Supreme, having knowledge of The Name (Ha-Shem), Mekubalim and Tzaddikim can bring into cessation the power of any klippah - husk of impurity or darkness, making it as nothing before the Shekinah of the Holy One, which in truth is what it is - ain, nothingness!

This is the esoteric meaning of “Tzavaot not standing alone,” for truly, all things in heaven and on earth are as as nothing before the Infinite and Eternal One, and there is nothing that exists apart from the Holy One; there is the Holy and Unique One alone, there is no other.

This is the Wisdom of Tzavaot Initiates (Mekubalim) and Righteous Ones (Tzaddikim) hold - knowledge and power gifted to them through the Holy Spirit. Praise God!

May we abide in the good company of the Holy Shekinah - Tzavaot Tov, and may the fullness of the kingdom of heaven be manifest with us this day; may blessing pour out upon the people and the land this day, and may all our relations be blessed! Amen.

Shalom Aleichem!

Hosts and Ascents

#3 Postby Elder Gideon » Sun Mar 12, 2017 10:10 am

Shabbat Shalom, Tau Malachi:

if Tzavaot “stands alone,” is invoked alone, then it is an invocation in separation, as in the way of sorcery, witchcraft and false prophecy, but when joined with another Name of God, then it is an invocation in unity - the Infinite and Eternal One.

By Tzavaot in this context, I'm clearly hearing Powers, as those you describe throughout Gnosis of Guadalupe. According to a proof text in Song of Solomon, these same Powers are paired with Ascents in consciousness, all of which lift off by way of desire-energy. This is likely another conversation in itself: how Powers and Ascents work together. Your emphasis here is drawing upon the long-lasting consequences for great good or evil as souls interact with these Hosts and Ascents, by which the Bride adjures

O daughters of Jerusalem,
by the gazelles or the wild does:
do not stir up or awaken love
until it is ready!
(Song of Songs 2:7, 3:5)

Seeing these insights into Tzavaot reminds me of a conversation we had in forum called the Holy Doe where,

The Lover in Song of Solomon urges us twice by the does and gazelles to not awaken love before its time. The nouns these does and gazelles are would be their own poetic splendor were it not for the perfect homophones for two other magnificent principles: angelic hosts and ascents.

Gazelles: צְבָאוֹת: Tzva'ot
Does: אַיְלוֹת: Ay'lot

The principle of tzva'ot-hosts and ay'lot-ascents take the subject by which we're urged to a whole other level.

You taught a great deal about this in that post. In this post on Tzavaot, you delve more deeply into the intricacies of what sides these Powers and Ascents serve. What more becomes of them as the propulsion of desire-energy of which the Lover is warning us?

Gratefully,

Elder Gideon

Grace and peace to you in Adonai Yeshua Messiah!

“…do not stir up or awaken love until it is ready.”

There is no storming the gates of heaven, there is no conjuring the Shekinah, the Holy Spirit, nor the angels of heaven - Tzavaot; but rather, having faith and the desire to return to God, the desire for the knowledge of heaven and God, one must learn to wait upon the the Spirit of God, and one must invite and welcome the Holy Shekinah, wooing her, in a manner of speaking, and one must make oneself attractive to the angels of heaven, resembling them, resembling the Messiah - the Anointing.

If anyone wishes the continual companionship of the Holy Shekinah, and true communion with heaven and the angels of God, the True Light, they need to “live like an angel,” oriented to heaven, living as a messenger of heaven with knowledge of the Word of God; understand, angels are attracted to the Holy Shekinah, the Holy Spirit, and therefore they are swift to come to those upon whom the Shekinah rests, those in whom the Holy Spirit dwells - this generates the image and likeness of Yahweh Elohim, and this the angels recognize and are drawn to, and come to minister to and for visitation, communion. To “live as an angel” is to take up the spiritual works and way of the Tzaddikim - the righteous ones, holy ones, walking in beauty and holiness, the constant companionship of the Shekinah.

It is unwise to rush to enter into the communion of the angels of heaven, or to invoke them before it is time; if invoked in a state of impurity, in self-cherishing, attachment and aversion, or with selfish intentions and selfish ambitions, or self-serving interests, instead of the mercy of heaven one may encounter the judgement of heaven, distinct severity. Likewise, instead of angels of heaven, angels of archons may come, impure, admixed spiritual forces, or worse, demons may come posing as angels of God, dark and hostile forces; as is taught in the Scriptures, unclean and evil spirits - deceiving spirits, can appear like angels of heaven, angels of light, and can even skillfully quote Scriptures, the Word of God, though distorting and corrupting it, and leading astray.

Understand, sorcery corresponds with the conjuring of Tzavaot alone, apart from the Eternal God (Yahweh Elohim), the conjuring of ‘angels,’ celestial spirits, elemental spirits and whatnot for self-glorification, magic power, money and so on - as in those who sell spiritual gifts, ‘psychic readings’ and the like; and witchcraft corresponds with those who worship Tzavaot in place of the Eternal God (Yahweh Elohim), worshipping greater and lesser divinities, and various sorts of spirits, as though ‘gods’ and ‘goddesses’ instead seeking God, the True Light, or true enlightenment and liberation. All of this corresponds with Tzavaot Ahara, not Tzavaot Tov, or Yahweh Tzavaot and Elohim Tzavaot.

Understand, the spiritual forces that are attracted to a soul and form connections with a soul correspond with the energy of the soul, the person, their intentions, desires, their thoughts and imaginations, their words and actions. Thus, seeking communion with angels of heaven the energy and vibration of ones soul, ones consciousness, needs to resonate with heaven, and ones intentions, desires, thoughts and imaginations, words and actions, need to be in harmony with the angels of the Infinite and Eternal One. Then Tzavaot Tov will be attracted to a soul, and will engage in visitation and minster to that soul, communing with that soul in the Holy Shekinah; when, indeed, we live according to faith and love, enacting what is good and true, cleaving to the Shekinah of the Eternal God (Yahweh Elohim), seeking to serve heaven and the Holy One, then we may invoke the Spirit of God for ascents and invoke holy angels of God for the sake of communion. It is then time to “stir and awaken love.”

Seeking communion with the angels of heaven, what’s our intention, what’s our motive? If it is the desire to draw nearer to God, and for unification with the Spirit of God - knowledge of God, and service to heaven and God, then truly the holy angels will be swift to come to us, and very pleased to share their knowledge and power with us so that the will of God might be fulfilled; if, however, we do so for some other motive, some other intention, then it will not be the holy angels that come, but impure and dark ‘angels,’ unclean and evil spirits, heaven forfend, and may God have mercy on us!

Now if there is true faith so there will be the fear of God (Elohim) and love of God, and this is attractive to the angels of heaven, for this is innate to them in their communion and worship in the presence of the Infinite and Eternal; and if there is faith, so a soul will pour itself out before the presence of the Eternal One (Yahweh), and they will gather themselves in meditation, cleaving to the Holy One and Shekinah alone, and no other, and in this they will be attractive to the holy angels - Tzavaot Tov. More so, if there is true faith, they will study and contemplate the Word of God, the Holy Torah and Gospel, and seek to acquire esoteric wisdom - knowledge of the Holy Kabbalah, yearning for intimate knowledge of the essence of the Word, and this is very attractive to the angels of God, the True Light. Understand, the Torah, the Gospel, does not come through the angels, but rather through direct revelation of the Holy Shekinah, and through Divine Incarnation, and in this way it is given to us - spiritual humanity, the spiritual Community of Israel, or Anointed Community. Also understand, the essence and root of the Holy Torah and Gospel is beyond the domains of the angels; remember, “in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God (Elohim) and the Word was God (El)..”, and so it is that creation, heaven and earth, were founded upon the Holy Torah and Gospel, and as it was ordained to be from the outset, and the Torah and Gospel was given to humanity, the Word “pitched its tent and dwelt among us.” Thus, those who are Torah and Gospel Sages, and Mekubalim - initiates of the Holy Kabbalah, are most attractive to Tzavaot Tov - heaven and the angels, and likewise such souls have the “ear of heaven,” and the angels are swift to take up their prayers and invocations, and swift to impart their knowledge and power, their full ministry, their full communion.

If anyone desire communion with the angels in righteousness and truth, this is the way of entering and entertaining communion with heaven, communion with the angels in the Holy Shekinah, the Holy Spirit, through prayer and meditation, study and contemplation of the Word of God, and therefore a worship of the Eternal God, the Supernal One, in spirit and truth. When, indeed, we have taken up the spiritual life and practice - the Life Divine, in this way, it is time “stir and arouse the full love of heaven,” seeking ascents of the soul and visitations, communion, with the angels of God (El, Elohim).

In closing we can share an open secret. There is, as we know, revelation through Divine Incarnation (Eheieh), and this is supreme, the greatest of revelations, certainly so! Then there is direct revelation through the Holy Shekinah of the Eternal One (Yahweh), the Holy Shekinah passing by and resting upon, gifting Habad - wisdom, understanding and knowledge. Then there is revelation through angels (Elohim, Tzavaot), not the greatest, but rather the least; and yet, in this world which is ruled by the ignorance, the darkness, how great is this, the least form of revelation of the Eternal God! It is very great in comparison with souls completely bound up in the ignorance, the unenlightened condition, and the dominion of the klippot, the Other Side - archons and demons, certainly so!

For every gradation of true revelation and prophecy of the Infinite and Eternal let us give praise and thanks, honor and glory, and let us remember and keep the Word of God spoken to us; but all that comes from the Other Side, sorcery, witchcraft and false prophecy, let us shun and remove from us - let us turn away from the darkness and seek the Holy Light, let us separate out evil from good, and choose the good, and cleave to the Good - the Messiah and Eternal One (Yeshua, Yahweh).

May the Spirit of God open the way before us in ascent, and may we have intimate knowledge of the Way, the Word of God! Amen.

Yeshua Shalom!

Makes sense. It's always the right approach to operate and invoke the highest, unity. Things happen when you talk to the boss!
