Awakening the Serpent Power

#1 Postby Tau Malachi » Tue Aug 20, 2013 12:03 pm

The Awakening of the Serpent Power

We often speak of the awakening, sublimation and uplifting of the serpent power or fire snake, which in the East is called “kundalini.” Likewise, joined with this we speak of the generation of interior stars (“chakras”) and the body of light, the spiritual body of the resurrection; when the serpent power is sublimated, directed inward and upward, or Godward, it is uplifted through the central channel, or stellar channel, and so passes upward in ascent through the interior stars, and in fruition it is uplifted through all three channel-ways, stellar, solar and lunar, and is brought into cessation in the brow and crown star. This generates the body of light, or spiritual body of the resurrection. If and when this happens, and the serpent power is brought into cessation or repose, an initiate may experience the full influx of the Supernal Light and Truth, and the dawn of Supernal or Messianic Consciousness will transpire, the true enlightenment and liberation of the soul.

Generally speaking, there are cycles in the awakening of the serpent power, and once awakened, the serpent power grows and increases as it is “fed” by the radiant holy breath and influxes of the Mother’s Force, the Holy Light from above. The initial awakening of the serpent power is one thing, but as the serpent power grows and evolves in us it becomes a great force, a great manifesting power, and there is wonderworking power in it, psychic and magic powers. The awakening and evolution of the serpent power is very much like the “hatching of a fire snake,” the snake emerging from its egg, and then growing as it is fed. On rare occasions it can awaken in a thunderous way, as though instantly awakened in full force, but most often there are cycle of growth and evolution of this power of God in us, so that, in effect, it is awakened and uplifted again and again, until it is manifest in full glory and power.

It must be said, however, that in and of itself, the awakening and movement of the serpent power is nothing; the awakening of the serpent power itself is not enlightenment, not even when the full force of the serpent power is made manifest. In order for it to become the power of true enlightenment and liberation, it must be sublimated and uplifted, direct inward and upward, Godward, and it must be brought into cessation or repose, and taken up by the Spirit of God, Ruach Elohim.

The awakening and movement of the serpent power is not self-realization or enlightenment, but it is the force, or power, needed for self-realization or enlightenment; when sublimated and uplifted, and held in the brow and crown in hitbodedut, deep prayer and meditation, through this divine power the enlightenment experience can transpire.

As we know, the serpent power manifests as desire-energy and force of will, and as such, the sublimation and uplifting of the serpent power is all about the object of our desire and force of will, or where we direct our desire-energy and attention. Thus, it is directed through conscious intention, and the thought and desire arising from it. If our intention, our thought and desire, is for the experience of higher, more expanded states of consciousness, the opening of consciousness to new dimensions, or inner and metaphysical dimensions, and direct experience of nearness to God and conscious unification with God, or enlightenment, then the serpent power is sublimated and will ascend into repose in the brow or crown, or both. If, however, there are other intentions, or other objects of desire, so the serpent power is directed towards these and is not sublimated, and therefore will not be uplifted into repose.

This truth of the sublimation of the serpent power is well expressed in the Holy Torah when Ha-Shem speaks with Cain during his moment of jealousy and anger towards Abel.

“If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is lurking at the door; its desire is for you, but you must master it” (Genesis 4:7).

Understanding this, we may understand the “sublimation of the serpent power.” Essentially, it corresponds positive thought, speech and action, or with enacting what is good and true – faith and love; the sublimation of the serpent power, desire-energy, comes through passionate yearning for nearness and union with God, or Enlightenment, corresponding with the commandment to love Yahweh Elohenu, the Lord your God, with all your heart and soul, mind and strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself. Thus, the serpent power is naturally sublimated through passionate faith and devotion, and passionate yearning for nearness to God and conscious unification with God, or Knowledge of God through direct spiritual and mystical experience of God. Joined with this, if we love Christ and God, the True Light, and desire nearness and unification in Christ with God, so we will be passionate in our love for one another – all our relations, and engage in passionate acts of loving-kindness or charity (self-offering to God and others). In this way the serpent power is sublimated and uplifted, and is redeemed – “returned to God.”

The most direct way of this sublimation of the serpent power, of course, is taught in the Six Essentials: Cleaving to the Risen Messiah, Tzaddik and Community, gifted worship, hitbodedut (secluded prayer and meditation), and acts of loving-kindness or charity. Here you may understand “cleaving,” devekut, as passionate yearning for nearness and union – passionate love; and you may understand gifted worship as experiences of nearness and unification, glimpses that may occur even before full self-realization in Christ.

What Ha-Shem spoke to Cain directly speaks to the truth of the serpent power, for it is a power for great good or great evil – as much as a power awake within prophets and wonderworkers, and true apostles, so it is the power of sorcerers and great evil doers. If we understand the serpent power as desire-energy, then we will understand that awakening the serpent power is the generation of an incredibly great manifestation of desire, or fear – far greater than in the ordinary person, and that while a force for the enlightenment of the soul, it is also a force of great temptation, the temptations that come with greater knowledge and power.

Here we may recalled Nechash, the “Serpent,” the appears to Havvah (Eve), the “Mother of Life,” in the Garden of Eden, and we may recall the sin of prematurely eating from the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil; eating prematurely brings sorrow and suffering, and death into the world. According to Jewish Midrashim, interestingly enough, Cain is conceived by Havvah with the “help of the Serpent,” and it is to Cain that this teaching concerning the serpent power is given, that the serpent, or desire-energy, must be “mastered,” which is to say, sublimated, uplifted, and redeemed.

Here we may recall the anointing of Adonai Yeshua with the Holy Spirit in the Sacred Jordan, and the full awakening of the serpent power in him, and consider what transpired afterwards; forty days of fasting and prayer in the wilderness, and the Temptation by the Adversary, Satan (the “Old Serpent”). In this light I encourage you to go read and contemplate the story of the Temptation in the Gospel of St. Matthew, paying special attention not only to the temptations put forth by the Adversary – this desire-energy awakened in the Master, but to his responses; all of them express one Holy Intention, one Holy Thought and Desire for nearness and union with God, the True Light – his sole desire is to return to God, and to facilitate a return to God of other souls. Overcoming the temptations, so the Perfect Tzaddik (Master) completely sublimated, uplifted and redeemed the serpent power, the Spirit of God (Ruach Elohim, Ruach Yahweh) taking up the serpent power in him, and taking up his person and life, the Spirit of the Messiah becoming fully embodied in him.

As we have shared above, with the true awakening and uplifting of the serpent power comes “charisma,” or all manner of psychic and magic powers, and an incredible force of desire and will that moves great power in this world, as well as in heaven if directed towards it. These psychic and magic powers are not signs of true self-realization or enlightenment in and of themselves, but rather, they can be used to serve the kingdom of heaven and for the glorification of God, or they can be used in any number of ways for self-glorification and selfish ambitions in the ignorance of self-cherishing, and the play of desire and fear in self-cherishing. Consider the temptations put forth to Adonai Yeshua, to soothe his own hunger, or lust, to glorify himself instead of God, and worldly ambition instead of service to the kingdom of heaven and God. These, in general, correspond with the temptations, or barriers, that every initiate encounters when the serpent power awakens and moves, though for some who are bound up in great negativity, instead of manifesting as desire, it can manifest as powerful insecurities and fears, as we hear in the stories of many non-initiates who lack a good spiritual education and are unprepared, but in whom the serpent power spontaneously ignites.

Here it must be said that if we abide in faith and love, with a passionate desire for God or Enlightenment, and we abide in the Threefold Sanctuary of Grace, cleaving to the Risen Messiah, Holy Tzaddik and Anointed Community – the Living Body of the Messiah, we have nothing to fear concerning the awakening of the fire snake. We will, though, naturally have our own temptations, our own barriers (klippot) to overcome, but if we follow the teachings and guidance of our tzaddik, and we live within and follow the guidance of the inner tzaddik and Spirit of the Messiah, the Spirit of the Messiah in us will empower us to overcome whatever temptations or barriers arise, and we will be victorious in the Risen Messiah through Divine Grace.

Ultimately, it is not we who uplift and redeem the serpent power in us, but it is the indwelling Messiah and Holy Spirit that uplifts and redeems it. Unlike certain schools of Kundalini Yoga in the East, we do not seek to force the awakening of the fire snake, but rather we look to the Spirit of God to awaken, uplift and redeem the serpent power, and to lead us in our return to God. Thus, in our method, we go within and live within, and we go deeper still, and we hold the conscious intention for the reception of the Holy Light from above – our anointing and rebirth from above, and receiving this Force of the Holy Mother, so we enact an active and dynamic surrender to the Mother, co-laboring with the Holy Spirit to integrate our mind, speech and action with the Holy Light. It is not we who bring about our realization or enlightenment, or our union with Christ in God – it is Divine Grace that accomplishes this, but we have choices to make, and we must choose to surrender and engage a full self-offering to God and to the service of the true kingdom of heaven; hence, to let go of self-grasping, and self-will, along with desires and fears in self-cherishing, and instead, cleave to Christ and God, yearning for nearness and union, and enacting what is good and true – faith and love. If we are willing in faith and love, so the Lord, Adonai, is willing, and will uplift and receive our soul, bringing us into nearness and unification – true salvation.

Here we may remind of a very simple truth: Wherever your thought is, there you are; it is good to consider if that’s where you truly wish to be. Likewise, whatever your soul most desires and loves, your soul becomes, and it will become your reality; it is good to consider if what you desire is your true inmost heart’s desire, or accords with the love of the inmost aspect of your soul. Contemplate this well, and understand!

This is simple, straightforward instruction on sublimating and uplifting the serpent power, or the conscious direction of desire-energy, if anyone has ears to listen and hear, and receive it!

There is something more to be said of the temptations that will arise, some are very subtle and sublime. As an example, luminous dreams and lucid dreams, and visions of angels and the heavens may arise, and these may be more or less pure or impure, true or false, and this is all well and good as the serpent power and soul is drawn in ascent through various gradations of nearness to God. Yet, even the inmost of the seven heavens, Arabot, while an intimate nearness and communion with the presence of God, is not the experience of conscious unification with God, or a full return to God; in the ascension of the soul, or consciousness, it is important to remember our original intention and ultimate purpose, the desire to return to God, the desire for Knowledge of God and Godhead alone – the full enlightenment and liberation of the soul.

If you understand that desire for rewards in heavens, or the bliss of heavens, can be “temptations,” distractions from our ultimate purpose, unification with God and the embodiment of God, then you will understand that it is very likely from time to time along the Way we will fall to temptations, whether gross or subtle, and so be led astray. If we are able, and willing, to recognize a temptation as a temptation, or a distraction as a distraction, however, in that very instant we always have the opportunity to confess and repent of that “sin,” distraction, and so to restore ourselves to our original intention, God’s will for us, or the True Will, Desire, of our soul for the full Knowledge of God in Union.

In this light, consider the temptation of Havvah (Eve) by the serpent! It was most subtle and sublime – “When you eat, you will be like God.” Note the word “like,” implying nearness, but not true and full knowledge in conscious unification! It’s so very subtle, so very sublime – what a deception, what a distraction! God deliver us from the deceiver, the ignorance, the illusion of separation, or delusion of lack! Yeshua be with us! Amen.

This deception of Nechash, the “Serpent,” is so subtle and sublime, and insidious, it pervades virtually all exoteric religion, even Christianity; and we may rightly say that the Serpent, or anti-Christ spirit, is the “father of religion,” deceiving many and preventing their full return to God, or conscious unification with God. Although it is written in the Holy Scriptures that God become human so that the human being might become God – note, “become God,” not just become “like God,” nevertheless exoteric Christianity teaches a separation of Christ and God from us, and does not teach a conscious evolution of the soul to be and become Christ, or to experience conscious unification with God and Godhead as our Elder Brother, Yeshua, or “Jesus,” did.

This even plays itself out through much of modern Western “Esotericism,” which very often is fraught with many distractions of “occult” or “esoteric knowledge” in place of teaching a path to True Gnosis or Da’at of God – the Knowledge of God in Conscious Union, or an actual Self-realization or Enlightenment.

Here we may share an open secret. True esoteric knowledge, or knowledge of the Mysteries, corresponds with the knowledge of how to return to God; hence, how to draw near unto God, and how to enter into conscious union with God – the full enlightenment and liberation of souls.

Here it needs to be said that whatever our knowledge of the Mysteries, it is the Knowledge of God that is our ultimate purpose, and most essential to our Self-realization in Christ is passionate faith and devotion, the generation of the Sacred Heart that brings passionate love of God and all our relations.

Joined with the Six Essentials, and what I’ve taught elsewhere concerning hitbodedut, we may speak of three forms of prayer-meditation that are integral to the sublimation and uplifting of the serpent power: Primordial Meditation, Giving and Receiving, and Union with Partzuf.

Primordial Meditation generates the presence of awareness, and the release of self-grasping, attachment and aversion, and therefore prepares us for the movement of a greater manifestation of the Divine Presence and Power with, in and through us, without becoming overwhelmed, or so easily falling into distraction, and the play of egoistic desire and fear.

Giving and Receiving generates the Sacred Heart, the fullness of love and compassion, which leads to a full and true self-offering, the Great Gesture; hence, the action of Divine or Enlightened Being.

Union with Partzuf is the expression of an active and passionate yearning for nearness and unification with the God, and it reflects the truth of the innate union with Christ and God that we seek to recognize and realize, and embody. The truth is that the inner aspects of our soul have never been separation from the Light Continuum, or God, we have just forgotten our innate unity with our source, our God, and fallen into the illusion of separation.

Through these three spiritual practices, engaged with kavvanah-concentration and devekut-cleaving, the serpent power is well directed, and through God’s Grace, we will do well! Praise God!

This, no doubt is enough for one time.

O Adonai, we pray, let the Serpent be uplifted and redeemed in us, and we pray, please gather our soul into You, Atoh; as we are gathered into You, we pray that many are uplifted with us in the Great Ascension. Amen.

Yeshua Shalom!

Shalom Tau Malachi!

I am interested to know how prayer plays a role as a practice in uplifting the fire snake. I can see how some might argue that it can affirm a duality between God and the person praying, thus distracting from this aim of Union with God/Enlightenment, yet I am also hearing that we, of our will and effort cannot accomplish this union, for whatever we imagine this union to be, it cannot be this, that this union is ultimately an act of Grace. Yet I wonder if in the act of prayer if God's answers also bring some awareness of this union with the answers.

Also, I am curious because I have noticed that prayer can sometimes be a failsafe in uplifting energies when there is a strong self-grasping on my part to them. When a particularly obsessive thought "has my number" I notice that prayer, beginning with confession and repentance of the entire phenomena that is arising, from within it and then from outside of it, praying my prayer for God to look into what is troubling me and help, and giving the entire energy display to God in the prayer, the energy is simply gone. Has it been uplifted? I can confess, this effect hasn't always been my experience with such things, I suppose I had an idea that I was still the doer in prayer for many years, but the internal attitude of truly giving this to God and truly having Faith that God WOULD answer the prayer had to be cultivated. So I wonder how prayer, which might seem to cultivate the duality which has been outlined here by the Serpent who says, "you will be like Gods," turning us away from full Union with God. Yet prayer, which seems to acknowledge a sort of separation, is said to be the only weapon of the Messiah, who is in full Union with God! So this apparent duality that exists within prayer may not be actually what it seems, and I am curious how and if prayer is such a powerful agent of Union with God and practice to uplift the fire snake.

Shalom!

Grace and peace to you in Hayyah Yeshua!

This is a good question dear brother; and it is very good that it has been asked so that we can explore this mystery.

First, there is something very important that needs to be said, God, Ain Sof, the Infinite, is God, not me, not you; it is true, Christ indwells us, God is within us, and yet, at the same time, Christ and God are ever beyond us, and it is good to invoke blessings from above, beyond. There is a time and place for this, even if one were to abide in an experience of conscious unification.

Let us consider Adonai Yeshua in the gospels. On one occasion, a well-meaning aspirant calls him “good teacher,” but he responds to this man, “Why do you call me ‘good,’ no one is good but God alone.” We know he is the Perfect Tzaddik without sin, and we know that he abides is conscious union with the Living Father, and yet he makes this distinction between himself and God. On a number of occasions, in fact, Adonai Yeshua makes a clear distinction between himself and God, or Christ and God, or the Son and the Father; in this we may understand that while a son, or daughter, of God is an emanation of God, and may be inseparable from God, so God, the Infinite, is ever beyond the son, or daughter, and there is the evermore a son, or daughter, can be and become in the Holy One of Being.

At the same time, we also hear Adonai Yeshua speak of complete unity with God, the Living Father, and we hear him speak in union with God, or as God, forgiving sin, exorcising and healing, and working wonders, with an intention, word or command, and we hear him engage in utterances of the Divine I Am, God being embodied in the person of Yeshua Messiah. It is also true, though, that we hear him, at other times, pray to God, the Living Father, beyond, whether for the sake of others listening, such as in the raising of St. Lazarus from the dead, or because it is in the power of the moment in his own experience, or in invocations of Abundant Mercy from the World of the Sefirot before the crucifixion and resurrection.

If this is true with the Perfect Tzaddik or Master, then what about with us us, we who are perfect in the Messiah and El Elyon, but imperfect as we are in ourselves?

This speaks of the truth of an integral Self-realization in Christ, or the experience of Supernal Consciousness, true Christ Consciousness; this enlightenment is not a fixed or static state, but is fluid and flowing, and is active, dynamic, living, so that we do not remain in the peak state of consciousness all of the time, but rather we “run and return” through various states of higher vital and mental consciousness, along with various gradations of Supernal Consciousness and experiences of unification. If we were ever to encounter a living tzaddik who embodied something of this Supernal Realization, or this Supernal Anointing, we would witness this very clearly; at times, in the midst of working great wonders in the Continuum, or at times of Light Transmission and the revelation of the Body of Glory, so we will experience them speaking and acting from unification. At other times, though, we will see and hear them invoke and pray to Christ and God beyond, and speak and act from various gradations of consciousness in nearness, rather than unification; hence, we will watch them run and return through various gradations of consciousness and intelligence, nearness and unification, all as the Spirit of God inspires, all as God ordains in the power of the moment and flow of what’s happening.

Basically speaking, how we often think of the experience of Self-realization or Enlightenment is false; it is not a fixed or static state or experience, but rather it’s fluid, flowing, and is ever-changing, and instead of some fixed goal or point of arrival, it’s a radical acceleration of consciousness in progression and evolution, one that is marked by a very rapid flickering between clarity and confusion, knowledge and mystery, free from self-grasping, attachment or aversion – hence a flickering with conscious awareness between Self and No Self, or Being and Non-Being (Ani-Ain).

In this regard we might consider the Hebrew word hitbodedut, which indicates secluded prayer and the deepest state of meditation; and as you may recall, this is one of the Six Essentials that I teach for the experience of an actual Self-realization in this life. Secluded prayer indicates prayers in various gradations of nearness or closeness to God, while the deepest state of meditation indicates the experience of conscious union with God, abiding in the most intimate communion, or Knowledge of God. There is one word for this, “hitbodedut,” indicating that in the midst of secluded prayer and nearness, through Divine Grace, the Spirit of God, we may experience unification, and that likewise, from an experience of conscious unification we may be “driven out by the Holy Spirit” to pray, and to run and return through various states of consciousness, all as God wills, all as ordained by El Elyon.

If we consider this, we are talking about the play, and inseparability, of spiritual humility and spiritual self-worth in the Sanctuary of Grace; we have a Union of Grace in Christ, which is our spiritual self-worth, and at the same time we have an experience of various gradations of nearness, more or less, which is our spiritual humility. There is, in truth, no conflict or contradiction between these two dimensions of our being and consciousness, or Being and Becoming; none whatsoever – this exactly is what is recognized and realized in the experience of Supernal Consciousness, or Pure Radiant Awareness.

It is good to pray, and it is good to meditate, and it is good to run and return dear brother, all as the Holy Spirit inspires, and all according to what’s happening in the moment; and in this, always, we wish to be present in the moment, awake and alert, and be where we are, and be who we are in ourselves and in God, the True Light. In this way, the Holy Light and Spirit will awaken, uplift and redeem the serpent power in us, and accomplish the Great Work in us, this Self-realization or Enlightenment in Christ.

Consider this. Without passionate yearning for nearness and union we will not experience greater nearness and union; yet, in truth, we have never been distant or separate from God in reality, our apparent separation is a relative phenomena in mind or consciousness, and is illusory. In other words, ironically, we yearn for what we already have, and where we wish to be we already are, but we need to recognize and realize this truth of our soul in Christ and God, realizing our salvation here and now, in This World, today!

So we cultivate passionate yearning, and we pray and meditate, to experience and realize this truth of our divine or enlightened nature, our Divine and Supernal Being in Christ and God – bornless being, or eternal life.

You are completely right dear brother. At the outset we do not know how to truly pray and meditate; not in the least, and as we pray and meditate in the beginning, generally speaking, it is in ignorance and separation, and we think we are the doer, rather like the demiurge and archons. We do not realize that it is all about becoming empty of ourselves, so that we might become Spirit-filled, and our faith in the power of God is weak in the beginning; we simply do not understand a true active and dynamic surrender – this understanding can only come with time and practice, and as a gift from the Spirit of God.

At the outset, we are trying to conjure the Spirit of God, but with time, as we learn to let go and surrender in prayer and meditation, we learn how to invite and welcome the Holy Spirit and Shekinah, and how to be open and sensitive to the Holy Light; in the Sanctuary of Grace it just takes ongoing practice with an open and sincere heart, and an ongoing cultivation of faith and love.

“There is no Goal but the Path,”
and as such we do not care where we are on the Path; not in the least – God knows, we do not! And it is not really any of our business! Wherever we are, we pray and we meditate, and we worship God in spirit and truth, entertaining the peace and joy of our communion with God, our Union of Grace; and for the joy of it, we labor always for progress in the Gospel, and a “better resurrection,” simply because it is what’s good and true, and is our delight!

To us, it is all a love-play with our Beloved!

Now here I will share a point of correction, or need for self-purification with some novices in the mystical journey, which relates to being empty of oneself. At times individuals will write to me proclaiming that they carry “sparks” of a great tzaddik, or even that they are “reincarnations” of a great tzaddik. These individuals need to take a lesson from Yohanan the Baptist, for we know he was the reincarnation of the soul of Elijah by witness of Adonai Yeshua, his inmost disciple, but when Yohanan was asked if he was Elijah returned he denied that he was, and he spoke the truth. The need to make great claims of oneself is a terrible obstruction to actual spiritual realization – a great klippah rooted in Klippah Nogah, or false light. If it were true, we would not need to claim anything, but rather, the Holy Spirit would reveal it to those ordained to know, and others, perhaps, might bear witness to what they have seen, heard and know in the Spirit, but we would not bear witness of ourselves. We may also learn this from Adonai Yeshua, who did not tell his disciples who he was, but rather inquired of them, “Who do you say that I am?”

The rider of the chariot speaks to those who know already, to those the Holy Spirit has drawn near and illuminated.

I share this, because if an aspirant wishes the awakening and uplifting of the serpent power, truly they need to become empty of themselves, and purify themselves from this way of thinking, and from all great claims of themselves, and instead learn to abide in the Living Presence of Christ and God, being who and what they are here and now, in this life.

Self-purification, self-negation, is essential to the cessation of the serpent power its it’s redemption.

I share this, because it relates to prayers in spiritual humility, and in nearness – there is much to be said of the power of spiritual humility; it’s transparency before the Light-presence and Light-power.

When we humble ourselves in this way, the Spirit of God uplifts us, and uplifts the serpent power in us; as Adonai Yeshua teaches in the Gospel of St. Thomas, what we experience through Divine Grace will astonish us!

May we humble ourselves before the Lord, Adonai, and walk as servants of the Living God, Hayyah Elohim. Amen.

Messiah Shalom!

Shalom Tau Malachi and all!
It is said that the human one is an energy generator, transmitter, and resistor of energy. When speaking of the interior stars Elder Gideon was teaching in our last mentoring about the three channel-ways, stellar, solar and lunar and how the solar and lunar channels meet at the root and run parallel at the navel and meet again (overlaps) at the solar plexus then again parallel at the heart center and meets again at the throat, parallel at brow and overlaps or meets again at the crown.

When drawing this out it looks like in one way a strand of DNA that we are used to viewing. My understanding is at the navel, heart and brow is where the serpent power from above rays out and Mother Spirit pours herself out to an environment of those that are fire with the light from above drawing all beings inward and upward.

Many questions arise about the overlapping and running parallel movement of the lunar and solar channels which makes one wonder. Can teachings be shared Tau Malachi about what these channels are doing in this movement and any correction to be made from above? Could these channel ways be exchanging light where they meet together at the root, solar plexus, throat?

In a recent sharing of the practice for the threefold sanctuary viewtopic.php?f=24&t=2864
It is said also that the navel is where we focus on the outer sanctuary (Messiah, Davar, Knesset)

The heart center we focus on the inner sanctuary (Tzaddik, Maggid Gadol, Kallah)

The brow center we focus on the secret sanctuary (Amet, Kavad, Malkut) in the sharing of the practice for the threefold sanctuary.

Could they be any other kavvanot for the Root, Solar Plexus, Throat and Crown stars? Thank you so much and may the Light ray out and comfort the people and the land this day!

Shalom

Greetings and blessings in the Holy Light of the Messiah!

The caduceus, a common symbol for medical doctors, has the appearance of the three channel-ways, stellar or central, and the solar and lunar. If we look into the solar and lunar channels, they begin in the root and end in the brow, and they crisscross in between each of the interior stars in their ascent; hence between root and navel, navel and solar plexus, solar plexus and heart, heart and throat, and throat and brow. Thus, manifest in their natural pattern they cross one another five times, but they do not actually intersect, instead they remain distinct from one another, and therefore little is said about these points at which they cross one another.

The stellar or central channel goes from root to crown, and runs through and connects the interior stars. The initial uplifting of the serpent power is through the central channel when the interior stars are generated or opened, and it is this that activates the interior stars in full and generates the initial manifestation of the body of light, corresponding with states of higher, or more expanded mental consciousness, the peak of which is cosmic consciousness and the overmind. If uplifted and brought into repose or cessation in the crown, and with it thought and desire are brought into cessation, this opens the way for the recognition of the Clear Light Nature of mind, consciousness or soul, and unification with the Clear Light. Abiding in this state of spacious radiant awareness (Clear Light Union), through Divine Grace the Great Vision of Melchizedek, or the Risen Messiah, may arise, and we may experience a greater influx of the Holy Light from above, the full influx of the Supernal Light. This greater influx of Holy Light generates a greater manifestation of the serpent power, and there is an ascent of the serpent power through all three channel-ways, so that it is brought into cessation in the brow and crown; this corresponds with a greater generation of the interior stars and body of light transformed by the Supernal Influx, and in this the Body of Glory and Body of Emanation is manifest.

There is naturally a certain flow of something of the radiant holy breaths through the channel-ways that sustains the ordinary life and consciousness, and likewise there are “threads,” as it were, of the serpent power moving through them, but when the radiant holy breaths are generated in full, and the serpent power is awakened and uplifted, the interior stars are ignited and shine, and the subtle body is transformed into a body of light. When the interior stars are ignited in this way, and the body of light is generation, we experience the corresponding knowledge and power, or spiritual realization – there is a distinct manifestation of the Holy Shekinah and Holy Spirit with us. The initial generation of the body of light corresponds with an astral body and spiritual body, astral and spiritual light; hence the self-realization corresponding with higher states of mental being and consciousness. When the full influx of the Supernal Light transpires, so this body of light is transformed, becoming the Solar Body of the Resurrection; in this the knowledge and power corresponding with gradations of Supernal or Messianic Consciousness dawns, intimate knowledge of the Risen Messiah in an experience of conscious unification – the realization of the Divine I Am.

In any provisional teaching concerning the awakening of the serpent power, ignition of the interior stars and generation of the body of light this process can only seem sequential and linear; however, on an experiential level, the awakening of our soul and energetic being is not necessarily so sequential or linear, but it can be very non-linear, and can be very sudden. All of this comes about through the reception of the Holy Light and Spirit of God, and as we know there is the play of Light Transmission and Divine Grace, and, in truth, it is through Divine Grace, or being set on fire with the Holy Spirit, that our soul and energetic being is awakened and we experience illumination, or self-realization in Christ.

The Six Essential are the key, with passionate faith and devotion, yearning for nearness and union, the most intimate Knowledge of the Mysteries and God. In this there can be great leaps, radical developments, and we may be gifted with all manner of spiritual and mystical experiences, and illuminations.

Concerning the kavvanot of the interior stars, there are in truth many kavvanot for each interior star. As an example, instead of the secret, inner and outer sanctuary for the brow, heart and navel, there can be the wrathful, peaceful and blissful palaces, or there can be the sun of white brilliance in the head, the spiritual sun within and behind the heart, and the belly of fire, or “pot of fire,” in the navel; these are two other kavvanot for the brow, heart and navel, and there are many more of them, based upon the correspondences of the interior stars and our intention of prayers or theurgic actions.

Here we can gives examples of kavvanot, or points of concentration, for the crown, throat, solar plexus and root.

The crown corresponds with our innate union with Christ and God, or the Light Continuum, and corresponds with who and what we are in Christ and God; hence, the Divine I Am. Thus, abiding in the awareness of our innate unity with The One (Alaha, or Eheieh) is a kavvanah of the crown star. Likewise, abiding in the awareness of our innate transcendence, Supernal Being, is a kavvanah of this holy star.

The throat corresponds with our speaking power, and with the Living Word of God, and therefore speaking in the Holy Spirit, or speaking the Word of God, is a natural kavvanah with this interior star.

The solar plexus corresponds with the force or power of will in us, and therefore the unification of our will with the Will of God is a natural kavvanah for the solar plexus star; hence, surrender or submission to Christ and the Holy Spirit in us.

The root is all about embodiment one earth, and therefore being the Living Body of Christ, or being the Living Temple of God, is a natural kavvanah for the root star.

Joined with the correspondences taught in the study and contemplation of the interior stars in the lineage, all of which reveal various kavvanot for the interior stars, remember that these stars are the manifestation of the seven Sefirot of Construction in us, from Hesed to Malkut, crown to root, and as such, the kavvanot based upon the correspondences of the Sefirot also apply to the interior stars. As an example, the throat star corresponds with Tiferet, and as such, all of the correspondences of Tiferet are kavvanot of the throat star. In this, for example, we may understand that there is a deep connection between our power of speech and the healing power of God, Rafael – changing how we speak or what we speak, has healing power.

We speak often of a focus upon three principle interior stars for the imparting of Light Transmission, or blessings and empowerments, but in any such movement of the Holy Light and Spirit of God with, in and through us, all of the interior stars naturally come into play, the Holy Light and Fire (serpent power) raying out through them.

It also needs to be said that the body of light is mutable, and that the array of the body of light can be shifted or transformed in a number of ways; hence, there can be different configurations of interior stars and the channel-ways, corresponding with different energetic transmissions, or different manifestations of the Light-presence and Light-power. Thus, while we can generate a light body with seven interior stars, we can also generate a light body with three, four or five, and when we do different kavvanot are used, for the interior stars take on different correspondences. As an example, we might consider the centers generated and body of light generated in the practice of the Middle Pillar, which is a configuration of five centers or “stars.” These have a direct correspondence with Sefirot of the Middle Pillar and the five elements of consciousness, quite different than the generation of the body of light with seven interior stars, and the eighth star above the head.

This, of course, is no different that our capacity to generate the body of light in the forms, or images, of different Partzufim; from one to another union with Partzuf the body of light, body of consciousness, is transformed into the Partzuf as we merge our mind, heart and body with that of the Partzuf, and receive the corresponding knowledge and power – hence, a different configuration of the body of light.

This capacity for the manifestation of the body of light in endless configurations or forms corresponds with the Ain Nature of our mind, consciousness or soul, and the truth of Ain Sof in us as an infinite capacity of self-generation, and the truth of Or Ain Sof in us, an endless presence of awareness.

Here, in closing, we can speak an open secret. The serpent power in us is, in fact, something of the Spirit of God and Holy Shekinah, and through our anointing with the Holy Light and Spirit, this Fiery Intelligence is awakened in us, and when awakened, it is returned to God, joined with the Holy Light and Spirit of God above and below. In this unification the serpent power is redeemed, which is to say manifest according to the Divine Intention (Ratzon Elyon).

If we consider the redemption of Pistis Sophia, or the Holy Bride, on an esoteric level it is this, for on an esoteric level, the Serpent Power corresponds with the Holy Bride and the Holy Light from above corresponds with the Bridegroom.

The Holy Light from above uplifts and redeems the serpent power in us. Hallelu Yah! Praise the Lord!

May we be blessed to gaze upon the Good Serpent uplifted, and behold the heavens opened and angels ascending and descending upon the Sun of the Human One. Amen.

Yeshua Shalom!

Hello and Blessings to you,

I am new to this site, tho familiar with Gnostic Gospels and just finished reading Tau Malachi's The Gnostic Gospel of Thomas, which resonated very strongly with me. I have been attending the Tuesday night chats and again, have enjoyed interacting with people asking and sesrching as I have been. I have stated in another post that I have been attending the Catholic Church and have read and explored many of the mystics, I am drawn to John of the Cross, Teresa of Avila, Thomas Merton and Pierre de Chardin in particular. I had a very strong experience I believe is the beginning of the awakening of the serpent power as you describe. I had an intense, nearly overwhelming rush thru my body that manifested in raised heart rate, heat thru my body and a kind of white light nearly pulsing thru my eyes. It only happened one time this intensely, but a few others similar, but again, not as intense. I also found myself at the foot of "Jacob's Ladder" I was told, but I had to look up what that meant. I had heard of Jacob's ladder, but didn't know much about it. Now I find myself going there at times during my daily meditation to pray or to pray for someone.

I am very drawn to the teachings I am finding here, and believe they are a source of truth which is very important to me. As a long time seeker who seems to always end up back at the Catholic Church, the source of true spirit and truth is important to me, and I have found myself feeling there is more than what the Church outwardly teaches, something the mystics have touched and felt. What I seek seems to be here, in these teachings. I am drawn to healing and dispelling negative energy, I have come to believe that negative energies, sometimes even entities can and do latch on to people and we do need to be released from them.

I have been reading the forums and am a bit perplexed because there is so much information. I thought I would start here and ask about my serpent fire experience, I do feel that I have a bit of a block around the solar plexus that I am wondering whether it is related to the serpent rising. I would also like to know more about healing, I just ordered Tau's Gnostic Healing and St Mary Magdalene and am starting to read those. Any other suggestions for "how to begin"? Also, I have read a book on the Kabbalah, but feel I need to know much more, there seem to be many references on the forum to Kabbalistic words and teachings and I have know point of reference.

So much great information is here, but I feel like a need a bit of a roadmap?

Thank you, peace be with you.

Greetings and blessings in the Holy Light of the Messiah!

When there is passionate devotion, during powerful movements of the Holy Spirit, the serpent power can be awakened and uplifted, more or less, and we may become aware of the energetic dimension of the Living Presence of Christ, or the kingdom of heaven; hence, a profound awareness may dawn of Christ and the Holy Spirit as a distinct Light-presence and Light-power. As you might imagine, there is an entire range of possible experiences when the serpent power is awake and in motion, experiences of many different gradations. When we experience something of this we come to understand how literal the phrase “set on fire by the Holy Spirit” is, for there is a fiery quality and often an experience of inner heat.

Praise God that you have experienced something of this! The reception of the Holy Light from above and the awakening of the serpent power – this fiery intelligence, is the true anointing, and through it we truly are reborn from above, from heaven – the Pleroma of Light. Naturally with time, along with certain kinds of practices, with God’s help your experience of this will grow and bear even greater fruit, all as God wills.

At the outset, indeed, there will likely be barriers or “blocks,” and over time there will be things to be worked out with the help of the Spirit of God. Practices I’ve already suggested to you will help with this, and more guidance will come as you enter into the mentoring process. The mentoring process will also help with a bit of a “roadmap,” so patience will be needed, waiting on the Spirit of the Lord.

We have a book outlining foundation teaching of our Kabbalah, “Gnosis of the Cosmic Christ.” That can wait a little while, however, until a few other explorations have happened.

Shalom Aleichem – Peace be upon you!

Thank you, Tau Malachi, just finding people that understand what I am talking about is comforting. I have been a seeker for a long time and now that a path seems to have opened for me that has more answers is exciting! I understand "when the student is ready the teacher appears" and I feel like that is happening. I have been working on the practices you recommended and I will be patient and enjoy the path.

God's Blessings to you,
Winnie

Shalom, Tau Malachi,

As the seven Interior Stars are manifestations of the Sefirot of Construction, does the eighth Interior Star correspond to the three Supernals? Can anything be said about the eighth?

Grace and peace to you in the Holy Name of Yeshua Messiah!

Yes, indeed, the eighth star, which is above the head, corresponds with the Supernals and Ain Sof, the Infinite One, and it is called the “transcendent star” or “secret star.” It is transcendent because it corresponds with the Primordial Foundation of Consciousness, or what is called the Great Natural Perfection, which abides in primordial purity, never tainted, traced, marked, stained or corrupted, nor changed in anyway; hence, it is supernal and primordial being without beginning or end. In this level of being, in the eternal realm, potential and actual are inseparable - it is the divine or enlightened being within and behind all emanations of the soul, and corresponds with the One-Who-Never-Sleeps (Adam Kadmon). It is “secret” because nothing, in truth, can be said about it and it cannot be explained, but rather it is known only through direct experience - the experience of Supernal Consciousness and realization of the Great Natural Perfection, or Primordial Foundation.

Something similar is true of the crown star, the center of the I Am, it too is “secret” in this way,

Thank you, Tau Malachi, for elaborating to the extent possible on this mystery of the eighth Interior Star. I gather, perhaps incorrectly, that there is an overlap between these Interior Stars, as they share certain characteristics. And yet, there is a distinction between them also.

Shalom,

Yes, indeed, they are deeply interconnected and are inseparable from one another, just like the Sefirot with which they correspond. Essentially they are different modes or manifestations of being-consciousness-force, or our soul incarnate. As we ascend through the interior stars, though, there is a greater and greater experience of nearness to the Holy One, and unity with creation and the Holy One; at the level of the crown star there can be an experience of supernal and primordial consciousness inseparable from one another, a profound Non-dual Gnostic Awareness, and in this experience the crown and transcendent star are woven together, in a manner of speaking.

Blessings!

Shabbat Shalom!

A few questions are arising in contemplation of the serpent power. We speak about the ascending force awakening as a gradual, and cyclical thing. First, there might be small sparkings, then greater flames, then ascension through the interior stars. Is the same true of the descending force as well? Because the teachings speak of the heart as a transition point. So is the descending force stopped from going any further than the heart in the majority of beings? Does this stopping imply a lack of grounding the energy of the Holy One? And does it imply a lack of embodying Mercy? That is, the qualities of God? As the 13 attributes of Mercy: "The LORD, the LORD, God, merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth..." Exodus 34:6-7.

With the connection to mercy, does the full reception of this descending force come when we open our hearts? To others, and to God? Also, when we speak of the opening of the heart, are we talking about those who have faith and care for others? or can there be atheists who care deeply for others, who may have this opening of the heart as well? And is it perhaps, a partial opening? Like a lens that is only partially dilated, versus fully dilated? Because we talk of the ascending force as this force for evil or good, and it is the descending force which tempers it. I am also wondering if the difference between the ascending force awakening and all three channel ways being opened is Mercy and the opening of the heart?

Blessings on this Shabbat; may our mind and hearts ever be joined to the Mercy of God!

Shabbat Shalom,
Marion

Grace and peace to you in Messiah Yeshua!

Understand, any teachings given on the awakening of the serpent power, opening of the interior stars and generation of the body of light are provisional and must speak in the most general terms concerning these mysteries. There are a number of ways that we can speak of the soul’s awakening and enlightenment, or returning to God, the True Light; this is just one of them, one for those who might have a focus oriented to knowledge of God in the way of power.

As is known, there is the One Way, the Straight Path, which is within and behind all true religions, all authentic wisdom traditions; and yet, truly there are countless ways to return to God, the Absolute Light, as many as there are stars in the night sky or as many as there are human hearts. Those who find their way, though, and return to God, the True Light, they will have found the One Way that we speak about and sojourn.

That said, the actual manifestation of the awakening of the soul and the realization of the soul will not be exactly the same from one to another, but from one to another, in fact, may be very different. Do understand that the revelation of the Divine never occurs in the exact same way twice. With some it might be a process through gradual cycles of development, for example, while for some there might be a process of radical leaps, evolutions. Consider the reception of the Holy Light from above and the movement of the descending force, it could be very gentle, gradual, or it could be very sudden, provoking a swift radical change in consciousness and the person. This, naturally, is also true of the ascending force, or ‘serpent power’ proper, in truth it can be gradual or swift. We can say this, however, the fullest influx of Holy Light from above and uplifting of the serpent power from below does not manifest at the outset of the awakening experience; if and when there are sudden awakenings there will be a need for purification and integration before the fullness of the Divine Presence is realized and embodied.

In a similar manner remember that the interior stars can be generated, ‘opened,’ from top to bottom, or bottom to top, or from the center, the heart star, radiating out, up and down; also for some there is a brow center generation, radiating from the brow to crown and then down, which is somewhat different in experience from the top bottom, crown to root, and there is also for some a navel star generation, radiating down to the root and the up, which is somewhat different in experience from the bottom to top, root to crown. These are all possibilities in the generation, opening, of the interior stars.

Depending upon these developments, and coinciding with them, is the pace of the generation of the body of light.

So, truly, there are many possibilities with all of this.

As for those who proclaim themselves to be atheists who do not believe in “God,” but who strive to live as compassionate human beings and strive to have right thought, right speech and right action, and to do what is good and true, having kindness and love for people. Ironically, such individuals might have greater proximity to the Holy One than many people who loudly proclaim their faith in “God” in the exoteric religions of the world. Also, ironically, regardless of what they believe or do not believe, there is One God, the Most High, ever beyond, and yet, within and surrounding them, within all things, and God is with them, whether they are aware of it or not. Understanding this, regardless of the belief a person claims, if the conditions are present the Spirit of God may touch them, awakening their soul, awakening something of these faculties and powers of the soul, their inner being, certainly so!

Do understand, all such things, it is God that does them, and with God anything is possible - God is the Almighty, the Infinite and Eternal, and God is gracious and merciful and compassionate! Remember, at times the Spirit of God even touches active evildoers who may have some positive karma, merit, from previous incarnations, individuals for whom we might not be able to identify the conditions for such a radical movement of Divine Grace, but nevertheless we witness a very powerful movement of the Holy Spirit with them that causes them to turn to God, the True Light. Truly, anything is possible to God, the Most High. Praise God and thanks be to God, the Infinite One!

Concerning the co-creation of the conditions, however, for the full manifestation of Divine Grace, generally speaking the mind and heart opening to God, the Absolute Light, is key, as is a generation of love and compassion for others; this along with cultivating other qualities of the Divine, or other positive character traits. Generally speaking, we do need to co-create the conditions necessary for the full action of Divine Grace, the Holy Spirit, and as we do so the Spirit of God is set in motion and we receive the Holy Light from above.

Here we might remember that the interior stars correspond with Sefirot, or Names of God and qualities of God. As an example, El and Mercy correspond with the crown star, as do the Thirteen Attributes of Mercy, and the various other qualities, attributes, that are associated with the Mercy of God. In this, perhaps, you may understand that the cultivation of qualities of God, attributes of God, corresponds with the generation or ‘opening’ of the interior stars. Those who claim their “chakras blew open” but who are devoid of this reflection of God the True Light in them are mistaken, for were that the case these qualities of God would be suddenly reflected in them, there would be a very radical transformation of the person and life.

These were a few thoughts that arose to share.

May the face of God Most High shine upon you today, and may you abide in the good grace of the Messiah, the Anointing! Amen.

Shalom Tau Malachi!

There has been a contemplation of the body of light. I was contemplating how in dream-time, whether or not there is a divine, mundane, or darkly splendid experience, the appearance of the dream-display is still in the ignorance. Though it seems, the luminous experiences are more helpful—they are an upliftment of the display. I keep wondering, why does the ego need the display in the first place? What happens if we let go of the display all together? Perhaps that is what is meant by "dreamless sleep"?

So, I was contemplating this in terms of meditation. There are the methods of Primordial Meditation, then there is no method—just being. Is this what is meant by the realm of no practice? I was also contemplating this in terms of the serpent power. I remember the teaching that in order to experience a certain mode of consciousness, one must have the corresponding energy in the body of light. This is what we're doing with study, practice, and initiation—building the energy in our body of light. The serpent power is a generation of energy, and when fully generated, it runs through all three channel ways, and we also talk about it resting in cessation at the crown.

Is this cessation the state of dreamless sleep, the sleep that is awake—the sleep that does not need to take up a form, but is content to abide with the Holy One, at One, at Peace? I am also reminded of how we often say: In order to give our life to the Holy One, we must first have a life to give! Is this life we give related to the full generation of the serpent power? And is this also related to the teaching we heard a few Shabbats ago of "Unless I die, I cannot create"? I'm hearing this as: unless you bring the full force of your energy into cessation, you cannot be and become at-One with the Holy One? Is energy here synonymous with desire and fear? Is it similar to a black hole, where all of this matter is compressed into this tiny speck, and comes into cessation? In effect, no longer existing—dying, and through this death, a new universe is created! In this new universe, is the potential for intelligent life that may choose to seek the Holy One, Praise God!

Blessings and Shalom!

Blessings to you in the Holy Light of the Messiah!

The arising of dreams itself isn’t the ignorance, but rather it is the lack of awareness that one is asleep and dreaming, and more so the lack of awareness that the dream is a radiant display of one’s own mind, consciousness or soul, and therefore viewing the dream as a reality separate and apart from oneself - the illusion of separation. In this illusion of separation, twoness, self-grasping, desire and fear arises, and this is the manifestation of the ignorance. Whether one abides in dreamless sleep awake, fully aware, or one arises in dream awake, fully aware, there is no difference; whether in a state of formlessness or form there is no difference, form is formless, and formless is form. This is ‘seen’ in the experience of non-dual gnostic awareness, or pure radiant awareness.

Dream, or the imaginal, is among the natural faculties of the mind, consciousness or soul, and it corresponds with one of the essential qualities of the mind, consciousness or soul, the endless capacity of self-generation. Thus, the imaginal, the power of imaging, imagining, along with the generation of thoughts, is natural to us, innate to us, but do understand that this power comes from God, the Most High, and is an attribute of God.

Although dream is the most obvious manifestation of imagination, and most accessible window, as it were, to the reality of the ‘world of imagination,’ which has a deep correspondence with the astral and spiritual dimensions, in truth our entire perception of reality, revelations of God, and so on, depend upon the imaginal. This is hinted at when various teachings prepose to us that all of the realities of our experience are ‘dream-like,’ including the physical or material world. Here it may be said that when souls are awake and abide in oneness with God, the True Light, they are aware of the illusory or dream-like nature of the physical or material reality as well, and are aware of the Holy One within and behind it all, all that appears being the manifestation of the radiance of God, the Absolute Light, from which they are inseparable, having an innate unity with their Source and Foundation.

You may recall the idea put forth in numerous wisdom traditions of creation as the ‘dream’ the Primordial One, or the Most High; ‘dreaming,’ creating, corresponds with the very Being and Nature of God, and the desire of God in it, according to the Great Prophets, is for the revelation of Godself, that God should be known - hence, that there be knowledge of God.

This naturally imbues creation and creatures with a desire for self-awareness, self-knowledge, self-realization, the entire play of self-generation existing for this purpose, understanding that the True Self is inseparable from God, the True Light. In this regard understand that the arising of dream, and the various realities of our experience, are all vehicles of Self-realization, though in the ignorance we do not recognize Reality as It Is.

Concerning the generation of the body of light, various grades of expanded consciousness or ‘stations of the soul,’ and spiritual practice, devotions, such as invocation and prayer, meditation, study and contemplation, there is a generation of light-power in these actions, but more so they create the conditions necessary for the full action of Divine Grace, the Holy Spirit, and through Divine Grace we are blessed with influxes of radiance from God, the Absolute Light; hence, through spiritual practice there is preparedness and cooperation with the Spirit of God, the formation, as it were, of a fit vessel for the Holy Light and Spirit, or the Divine Presence. Although, indeed, we are called to enact devotions and works, and these themselves are gifts to us from God, the ascension of the soul through the various grades of faith and knowledge, and realization, does not happen through our own efforts, but through Divine Grace, or blessings bestowed upon the soul from the Most Gracious One, Most Merciful One, Most Compassionate One, God Most High (El Elyon).

According to the Holy Scriptures of the Three Branches of the One Faith, we cannot bring about our Self-realization, or enlightenment and liberation, on our own, but only through divine intervention and intercession; hence, Divine Grace. Understand, Divine Gnosis or Habad is a gift from God, God reveals to us the secrets of Divinity, and ultimately the secret of secrets, that inmost knowledge of God Most High that is even hidden from the highest of the angels. It is ordained, though, that we worship God, the True Light, and that we seek God and strive for the knowledge of God, and all in a great mystery God has made this integral to ‘finding,’ or our experience of the self-disclosure of God.

Concerning the attainment of ‘no more practice.’ This corresponds with an inmost grade of oneness, conscious unification. In this state a soul abides in communion, in invocation, prayer, meditation, contemplation without end, the various movements called ‘practices’ or ‘devotions’ occur naturally and spontaneously, and we may say that this corresponds with the state of ‘God praying to God,’ such as we have witnessed in Adonai Yeshua. If and when this lofty state is present there is, in truth, no need for the various methods of prayer and meditation, but if such things were taken up for the sake of others as ‘signs’ for them, it would be the Divine Presence that was the doer, so ‘no more practice,’ ‘no more practitioner.’ The true secret mystery of this state cannot be spoken, but it can only be hinted at. So these words are hints, nothing more.

Regarding the cessation of the serpent power, and the awakening of the serpent power for the sake of bringing it into cessation. Understand, in its essence and nature the ‘serpent power’ is desire, love, and the purpose of awakening love is to love, and to merge with the ‘object’ of love; when the unity of the love and the Beloved is realized, there is a certain cessation of the lover and love in the Beloved - there is only the Beloved, the Holy One.

Now the teachings on the serpent power, interior stars and generation of the body of light correspond to the way of power. As we know, there are various ways, the way of knowledge, way of love and devotion, way of action or works, way of power, way of transformation and way of perfection, the latter corresponding with the Straight Path. The realization of union through any way or combination of ways brings the knowledge of the One Way, or all of these ways. In the way of power, awakening the full force of will and desire, the full power of the soul, and uplifting it to God, the All-Powerful, there is the recognition and realization of all power as God’s power, there is no more ‘my power’ and ‘god’s power,’ and so on, there is just the All-Powerful One (Shaddai); in this there is a ‘cessation’ of the serpent power, and this leads to the realization and embodiment of the One Divine Presence and Power.

These are some thoughts I can share with you today.

May the blessings of God Most High rain upon you this day!

Shalom Tau!

Thank you for the clarification teaching! Now I understand that I was contemplating this in a dualistic way! The radiant display of one's mind is not the ignorance, rather it is the illusion that this display is separate and apart from oneself. The duality of "bad" and "good" in the mind is very powerful, perhaps this is why we teach the necessity of the sublimation of the serpent power—desire and fear?

I wish to ask about something you said in your previous post, and hinted at again in the last one:

"There are a number of ways that we can speak of the soul’s awakening and enlightenment, or returning to God, the True Light; this is just one of them, one for those who might have a focus oriented to knowledge of God in the way of power."

Later on, you detail 5 different ways in total that the interior stars may open:

"In a similar manner remember that the interior stars can be generated, ‘opened,’ from top to bottom, or bottom to top, or from the center, the heart star, radiating out, up and down; also for some there is a brow center generation, radiating from the brow to crown and then down, which is somewhat different in experience from the top bottom, crown to root, and there is also for some a navel star generation, radiating down to the root and the up, which is somewhat different in experience from the bottom to top, root to crown. These are all possibilities in the generation, opening, of the interior stars."

Do these 5 ways have any correspondence to the 5 ways: The way of power, the way of work, the way of knowledge, the way of love, and the way of the weave? In these teachings, I remember it being said, that there are many ways to God, and eventually we will all realize the way of the weave, though every person might have certain propensities?

I believe you said, the way we talk about most frequently, of the descending force sparking the ascending force is associated with the way of power? How then, does the way in which the ascending and descending force move correspond to the way in which the interior stars are opened? Would it be top to bottom, as the descending force moves at first, or bottom to top? What is the difference in the pace of the generation of the body of light? Previously, I had conceived of each of the interior stars as holding the same amount of energy, just different modes of consciousness of the One. Based on these teachings, that the body of light can be generated at different paces, are there stars that hold more or less energy? Is the way that we open the interior stars, by way of the descending force then the ascending force the reason that it is a more lasting realization? Because I've heard it said that our way is a longer way to full realization, and when it does dawn in a person, they are very resilient to outside influences and not so easily taken off the path.

I am also wondering if our way of opening the interior stars has anything to do with how we focus on the sun in our heart as the basis for every practice?

May the Holy One illumine our minds, our hearts, and our lives with these teachings!

Blessings and Shalom,
Marion

Blessings to you in the Holy Light of the Messiah!

What I was sharing is that the entire body of teachings on the awakening of the serpent power, generation of the interior stars and body of light correspond with teachings of the ‘way of power.’ That’s not to suggest that the same energetic movements do not occur with those who sojourn in the various others ways, but rather that these teachings directly speak to methods, practices, in the way of power, and so may be a more significant focus for initiates called to that way on the Gnostic Path versus those called to some other ways.

Now, in the Anointing, in the play of Light Transmission, there is always the reception of the Holy Light from above, the ‘Mother’s Force,’ and it is this that stirs the generation, opening, of the interior stars and the awakening of the serpent power; hence, a movement of Divine Grace. As to the order of the generation of the interior stars, it can happen in a number of ways as I’ve shared, and this will depend upon God’s will for the individual, and the unveiling and self-disclosure of God to the individual. Likewise, it’s connected to the soul root of the individual and the tikkune that has been given to them by God Most High to accomplish in their sojourn within gilgulim, incarnations. Essentially, the of experience awakening and revelation, realization, from one individual to another may be very different. In fact, with each individual it is different, unique, because God, the Unique One, the Absolute Light, never repeats Godself in revelation, never assumes the same form in revelation, from one to another, nor from one time to another, but with each soul there is a special, unique revelation, and so special, unique Divine Gnosis or Habad. The various orders in which the interior stars may be generated, opened, reflects this; but do remember and understand that these interior stars correspond with Sefirot, attributes or qualities of God, or Names of God, and that souls are drawn from the Sefirot, so the various openings are the reflection of soul roots, more or less, and their tikkune.

Until the interior stars are generated, opened, there cannot be a full movement of the descending and ascending force of the serpent power, but rather there are obstructions, blocks, to the flow of power, energy, or ‘light and fire’ of the Holy Spirit. Regardless of the order of their opening, when open there can be a full movement of the serpent power, which then fills the channel-ways and these ‘vessels of light’ within the subtle body, in effect manifesting the knowledge and power of the Holy One associated with those ‘vessels,’ or stars. So the initial generation, opening, of the interior stars is ‘preparedness,’ the creation of the conditions necessary for the full action of Divine Grace, the Holy Spirit, manifesting as the serpent power in the individual, When the necessary conditions are present, then the full action of Divine Grace, the Holy Spirit, transpires - the initiate will truly be ‘on fire with the Holy Spirit.’

It’s all a matter of the bestowal upon us by God; ultimately our awakening occurs as God wills it, all according to our destiny, or as ‘preordained’ by God. Praise God!

May God bless us with understanding! Amen.

Shalom Tau Malachi!

I was contemplating how you said that the arising of dream and the various realities of our experience are vehicles for realization. Therefore, is the mind itself, and it’s endless generation of realities, a merkavah? Understanding that the merkavah is a vehicle for realization? What then, may be said of the merkavah in relation to the teaching that we must divest ourselves of the mind? Does this mean that we must divest ourselves of what we think the mind to be so as to embrace a greater mind? I am visualizing this as an ever ascending spiral, where, at each rung, we must “get out of” the last merkavah, and enter a new one, capable of ascending further. “

“…there is the recognition and realization of all power as God’s power, there is no more ‘my power’ and ‘god’s power,’ and so on, there is just the All-Powerful One (Shaddai); in this there is a ‘cessation’ of the serpent power, and this leads to the realization and embodiment of the One Divine Presence and Power.”

Praise be to God for this teaching! This is making so much more sense now, as I’m hearing when we say “cessation of the serpent power”, we are saying cessation of the thought that “i” have power, that all power is not God’s power. In this way, does the power of the serpent—Necash, become the power of the Messiah, which both equal 358?

There is a question that came in contemplation: We speak of the ascending and defending force, and these are two apparent opposites, one is cooling, one is heating. This reminds me of the teachings of the union of opposites we were having a few years ago: http://www.sophian.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2540. It’s also reminding me of how we sometimes speak about the interior stars as roses, and when they bloom, they emit their full glory and fragrance. Because when a rose blooms, it is a convergence of many things, wind, rain, soil, sun. No-one and nothing can force a rose to bloom; I remember as a young child trying to “help” a rose to bloom—I ended up severely mangling the poor flower, and it never really recovered. In the same way, you have taught, if and when there is an opening of the interior stars, it is by God’s power, and God’s alone that this comes to pass. At the same time, we can create the necessary conditions for the bloom, and if we tend the rosebush faithfully through the years, if will bloom again and again, more and more glorious than before. I’m hearing your teachings of a greater and greater opening of the interior stars—a greater and greater realization in “The One”. So that, we never “arrive”, there is never a time where the Holy One will not embrace us more and more, that we cannot love the Holy One deeper and deeper, Praise be to God!

I had a question about something you had said previously:

“…at the level of the crown star there can be an experience of supernal and primordial consciousness inseparable from one another, a profound Non-dual Gnostic Awareness, and in this experience the crown and transcendent star are woven together, in a manner of speaking.”

Is this the meaning of “Their crowns are in their heads”? I had never fully understood the meaning of this phrase before. Am I hearing that by “crown” is meant, the Messiah? I’m also hearing crown as that which is ever beyond, the infiniteness of God. To be “in the head”, does this speak of embodiment? When their is no longer a separation between my power and God’s power?

Grace and peace to you in Messiah Yeshua!

First understand that the mysteries of the Holy Merkavah run very deep, and as is known they correspond with the knowledge of the way of prophecy and revelation. As much as we can speak of how we may co-create, co-generate, a purified vessel, vehicle, merkavah, in consciousness through which the revelation or self-disclosure of God may transpire, so there is also the Holy Merkavah that God, the Most High, emanates, creates, corresponding with the diverse forms of God’s revelation. Thus, while we may speak of the merkavah in terms of a vehicle in consciousness, or body of consciousness, body of light, there is also something much more to the Holy Merkavah in the Kabbalah; hence, God’s ‘Chariot-Throne.’ The formation of that from God’s Essence and Being is known to God alone.

That said, as is known, the ‘Living Merkavah’ of God is the Risen Messiah, according to Christian Kabbalah, and in this something of the formation of the merkavah in human consciousness and something of God’s formation of the Holy Merkavah intersect.

With this in mind, in speaking of the formation of the merkavah in consciousness this would not be isolation to mental consciousness and mental formations, but rather there would be vital, mental, spiritual and supernal formations, understanding ‘consciousness,’ ‘soul,’ spanning these various levels, and likewise understanding the ‘body of light’ in full generation spanning these various levels - this ‘ subtle body of consciousness.’ This corresponds with a ‘vehicle’ for the ascension of the soul to God, an ascension into prophecy, revelations, self-disclosures of God; hence the formation of a ‘merkavah,’ a ‘chariot.’

Here we may share an open secret. The Names of God, the Holy Sefirot, form the Holy Merkavah of God, upon which God is ‘enthroned,’ in which God ‘rides’; in our formation of the chariot, God the Most High, the fullness of the Essence and Being of God, does not ‘ride’ in it, but rather, the Names of God, the Divine Attributes, the Holy Shekinah ‘rides in it. Contemplate this well, and understand!

Nechash, Messiah, this is as you have said, and it is a lovely insight you’ve shared. Nechash is a state of ignorance, when we continue to think anything is “mine” or belongs to “me”; hence, the entire play of dualism, twoness, separation. So, not only the delusion of “my power,” but any quality you can name, knowledge, love, forgiveness, seeing, hearing, and so on. In the awakening, uplifting and cessation of the ‘serpent power’ there is cessation of the illusion of separation of all aspects of the self, though indeed self continues to arise in the play of Ani-Ain, Self/No Self, God/ Not-God. In this cessation all is ‘returned to God’ to whom all creation, all engendered things, belong; hence, returning to be One.

Understand, there is no end to Self-realization because there is no end to the revelation of God, the Infinite and Eternal; realization corresponds with the revelation or self-disclosure of God, and throughout our journey, unless we turn away or go astray from the Straight Path, the revelation of God, the Most High, never ends. Thus there are countless gradations, levels, stations of spiritual and supernal realization, Self-realization, God-realization.

So a Great Prophet, one who already possessed incredible knowledge of God, was told to always pray, “Lord, please increase my knowledge.” If any true prophet of God has been told this, then what are we to do? This is a continual prayer and heart-wish of gnostics, those initiates who have knowledge of God, Divine Gnosis, and so it must be with us.

These are a few thoughts that arise to share on this Shabbat morning.

May the Holy One increase our knowledge, and gift us with understanding and wisdom! Amen.

Shabbat Shalom!

Shalom Tau Malachi!

I have been contemplating what you have said of “my power” and “God’s power”. This image came, of a generation of energy, and then throwing it up to God—a full self offering, self-sacrifice of everything that had been generated. There was such joy and bliss in the offering, and a natural inclination to want to offer more, so there was a further generation of energy, and then another offering. The image transpired in a wheel, as in a gilgul—an endless generation and cessation.

This contemplation brought up several questions: Most beings in the ignorance live in a state of separation, and exist in the realm of the gilgillim, the endless transmigration of souls. Is this generation of energy, and the subsequent cessation of the energy a kind of enlightened gilgulim? As in, working within the confines of the law, in this world, yet having a kind of immunity, and not necessarily being subject to the law?

With the contemplation of gilgulim, there was a contemplation of cessation, i.e. rest. We know that when the serpent power is generated, both modes of the serpent power join in the heart and reach their cessation at the crown. This cessation is most interesting, because it implies that they rest in the only star that is not in the body proper, the crown star. Does this imply that the only true rest comes from the realization of the self, as inseparable from the Holy One?

With this contemplation of rest, came a contemplation on Shabbat. For six days we work, and on the seventh, we rest. Does this correspond to the serpent power moving through each of the six centers, and then resting in the seventh? I also love this contemplation of the work of the world, and the work of God. You have said, that if one looks at what a Tzaddik does on Shabbat, it may seem like work; teaching, initiating, praying, with and for the people. In reality it is not work, but resting in the presence of the Most High. Then, in the days of the week, we give of our energy to the world, as Yeshua said: Give unto Cesar what is Cesar’s.

I was also contemplating rest in the hyper-literal sense of: “On Shabbat, we rest.” As in, we rest continually on Shabbat, or Shabbat is our true rest. In this way, we do not only rest on the day we set aside for Shabbat, but anytime there is resting in the Holy One, there is Shabbat! In “Gates of Light”, Rabbi Gikatilla brings out the teaching of God resting on the seventh day from his work in creation, meaning that God actually rests on creation! Likewise, in Kings 2, after Elijah is taken up, Elisha performs the same miracles Elijah did, and they say that the spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha. So here, it seems to imply “resting” means, at-one; God is at one with creation, Elijah is at one with Elisha, and we are at one with Shabbat.

Something struck me with how you said that I Great Prophet was told to pray: “Lord, please increase my knowledge.” If the Lord increases the Prophet’s knowledge, then the mind with which they were praying previously must therefore cease. The knowledge they previously had must pass away before new knowledge can take root. They must therefore pass away, and be reborn. Does this speak to the earlier contemplation of gilgul?

Holy One, we give all praise and thanks to you this day; may You and your Name be One on the face of this Earth! Amen.

Shalom!

Blessings to you in the Holy Light of the Messiah!

There is something of an open secret. Our capacity to generate light power, or any form of power spiritual or material, comes from God, the True Light, and is itself a manifestation of the power of God, the Almighty; hence, the Breath of God, the Holy Spirit in us, stirs and generates light power, and various forms of spiritual and material power. In this you may understand that when we offer ourselves to God in truth we are returning to God what is God’s; basically speaking, the entirety of creation belongs to God, it is God’s property, and God can do with it what God wills. Thus, truly, we are returning to God what is God’s, or rather remembering that it has always been God’s.

The light and life that’s in you and me, it is God’s light and life, God’s power, and this light and life in you and me is inseparable from the light of life of all engendered things, the entire universe of God’s creation. Therefore what flows through you and me, and manifests as you and me, comes not from ourselves, but from the universe and God, and ultimately it is all from God, to God and for God - God is the only Reality. Do you see? The ‘returning’ of power to God is all about the recognition and realization of this truth of God, the All-Powerful, El Shaddai.

There is something more in this play of ‘return,’ though, for all in a great and supreme mystery although, indeed, all that we are and all that we have is given to us by God, God has made it so that we can give something ‘new’ back to God. You see, returning God’s power to God, it is a question of what we do with our light and life, and the that powers that God has given to us; ‘returning’ power to God is about serving God with the powers given to us, bringing ourselves into submission to God, enacting God’s will, rather than our own self-will. Thus, we serve the Real, not the unreal - we choose to do good, not evil. The very purpose of the revealed law is to teach us how to do this, to teach us to discern between good and evil, the Real and unreal, and how to align ourselves with the will of the Most High, Ratzon Elyon.

This submission, this surrender, is active and dynamic; cultivating divine attributes, so we engage in divine actions, good works, all as God wills. In this way life and light, and powers, are manifest as God wills, as God has ordained.

There is, indeed, a sanctuary of grace and ours is a ‘union of grace,’ but Divine Grace and the Divine Law are not mutually exclusive, rather the revealed law teaches us how to co-create the necessary conditions for the full action and manifestation of Divine Grace, and through the law the order or structure of creation is determined. Thus, until the End-Of-Days the law remains in effect. It is true, however, that when one is no longer the doer of the actions, when the false self and self-grasping is extinguished, one is no longer bound up in the law of cause and effect, no longer bound up in secondary causes under the law, but rather the Holy Shekinah, the Divine Presence is the doer, the primary causes, or Names of God, are the actions, and the soul is unified with the Cause of causes, the Holy One of Being. This corresponds with the full action of Divine Grace, Holy Shekinah, Holy Spirit, and in this way there is a transcendence of the law of cause and effect, the karmic continuum, and such a soul is free from the Judgment.

Understand, though, incarnate in this world and taking up actions in this world, even if a soul transcends the law in this way, still there is a play of the law, for creation is founded upon the law and this is a conditional reality, and engaging with other spirits and souls most remain bound up in karmic conditioning, the karmic continuum, and therefore in interactions with them there will be the manifestation of the law, and this will determine what actions can be taken up, and what, how and when those actions are to be done. As an example, suppose it is given to a tzaddik to impart a special blessing or empowerment to a companion, or something of the light transmission. Such a transmission can occur with or without various outward signs or gestures, but it depends entirely upon the power of the moment in revelation, the conditions of the moment, including the karmic condition of the one who is receiving and those who are present at that time. As God wills it, and as the conditions allow, so the tzaddik will take up that divine action, or rather, the Divine Presence manifesting with, in and through them, and as them, will take up that action, and that spiritual transmission, the unveiling and self-disclosure of the Divine Presence, occurs as God wills it. As a specific example, the passing of the Mantle of Elijah, under certain conditions, could indeed transpire without the outward sign of throwing an actual physical mantle over an initiate, but generally speaking that’s not the way that spiritual empowerment is imparted, but rather the throwing of the mantle is integral to that movement, action, of the Divine Presence, and the use of the physical prayer shawl is a manifestation of the will of God, or the ‘command’ of God as set down in the revealed law and word of God. Yet, if the conditions were present and there was a reason, a divine inspiration to do otherwise in the power of the moment, and so it was ordained by God, and was the will of God, this could indeed come to pass in a different way with no outward signs at all. Regardless, do understand that this is an action of Divine Grace, the Holy Shekinah, Holy Spirit, whether with or without outward signs, and yet there is the play of the law either way in this conditional reality.

Here we may share another open secret. It is said that through Divine Grace alone souls attain salvation, or enlightenment and libration, and that through the law no soul is able to attain salvation on its own. This is true. Understand, however, that in truth it is impossible for us to remember and keep a commandment perfectly without some taint or flaw through our own efforts alone, and likewise it is impossible for us to overcome and transform a base human traits and generate in place of the divine attributes through our own efforts alone, let alone rise up through the various grades of soul and various stations through our own power and effort. Such developments, evolutions, happen only through the mercy and compassion of God Most High, through the help of the Holy Shekinah, the Holy Spirit; hence, honoring the law, cleaving to the Names of God and Divine Presence, it is Divine Grace, the Divine Presence, that completes those works, those actions, and perfects them. In this you may understand that although indeed in the Messiah we abide in a sanctuary of grace, a union of grace, if we have faith and love we will naturally live in harmony with the law of God and enact the spiritual essence of the commandments. It is through God’s power, however, that all of this will be accomplished and brought to its fruition.

Now there is something to be said about the ‘crown star.’ Once introduced to the teachings of the Straight Path, remember that there is a different understanding of all other teachings in the Kabbalah based upon those inmost teachings of the Way; hence, those inmost teachings are applied to all other teachings, understanding that the Self-realization spoken of in the Straight Path is the enlightenment experience from which all other teachings flow. Understand, there is One God, but the forms of God’s unveiling and self-disclosure, or revelation, are many, and every revelation of God is unique, no two are alike. From one time to another, from one person to another, God never repeats Godself, but rather God assumes a new form in revelation from one to another, and as we know, drawing near to God and realizing oneness with God, there is an ongoing revelation, an ongoing unveiling and self-disclosure of God. The ‘form’ through which God reveals Godself to a soul is their supernal image (zelem), or rather their Christ Self or Divine Self, and it is through that ‘form’ that a soul worships God and enters into conscious unification with God, the True Light, according to the knowledge, understanding and wisdom that God has given them through unveiling and self-disclosure. That Divine Self, that Divine I Am, corresponds with the ‘crown star,’ and the place of this self-disclosure of God is in the heart and center of the head; hence, the illumination of the heart and mind, and soul, with the Holy Light and Spirit.

Uplifting or ‘returning’ power to God corresponds with the Divine Self taking up our person and life, the Divine Self taking up its given labor and action according to the will of God, all as ordained and predestined in God Most High.

May God bless us with a greater self-disclosure so that we may know ourselves with God and in God! Amen.

Shalom Aleichem!
