Angel of Yahweh (Psalm34:7)

The Angel of Yahweh: Companionship of Shekinah & Angels

“The angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them” (Psalm 34:7).

The ‘angel of Yahweh,’ this is the angel of the Holy Shekinah, this is Sandalphon. As we know, the Holy Shekinah is often associated with tents, as in the tents of the great matriarchs, and later the holy tabernacle and tent of meeting. In this we may acquire insight into how the angel of Yahweh, Shekinah, ‘encamps around’ those who fear Yahweh, it is like a tent sheltering above and below, and on all sides, that faithful person dwelling within the presence and glory of the holy angel. If and when the angel of Yahweh is encamped around a faithful person in this way the spiritual forces of the Other Side cannot draw near them or hinder them, their influence being cut off, and so in all actions, all that they do, the angel of the Holy Shekinah goes before them, ‘delivering their enemies into their hands,’ removing obstruction from before them.

This ‘fear’ corresponds with the awareness of the presence of Yahweh, and with profound reverence for Yahweh, which leads to an enduring faith, trust, in Yahweh and a deep heartfelt cleaving. Thus, truly, having such ‘fear of Yahweh’ the angel of Yahweh, the Holy Shekinah, ‘walks’ with a person in this world, and when in sleep their soul ascends through the heavens so also the angel of Yahweh is with them. This awareness of Yahweh, this reverence for Yahweh, corresponds with the practice of the Three Roots: Remembering that God is always with you; setting your mind on those things that are above, in the Messiah and God Most High; and remembering your transcendence, your soul’s innate oneness with Yahweh, the Eternal One. If, indeed, you abide in faith, living according to your faith in the practice of these Three Roots, so the angel of Yahweh, angel of the Holy Shekinah, will be with you.

If this is true of those who fear Yahweh, then what shall be said of those who love Yahweh? Here we shall say, ‘The angel of Yahweh indwells those who love him, and they shall be established in the kingdom of heaven, in this world, and in the World-That-Is-Coming.’ Thus, the holy angel surrounds them and indwells them. As people mature in faith and knowledge, and as fear of Yahweh evolves becoming love of Yahweh, so their cleaving is perfected, their soul being unified with Yahweh and the Shekinah, and therefore this great angel. If and when this happens in the Messiah, through the grace and mercy of the Eternal One, so the presence of Sandalphon is joined with the presence of Metatron, the angel of Yahweh, the angel of the Holy Shekinah, manifesting Hua - the angel of the Risen Messiah. This joining of the presence of Metatron with the presence of Sandalphon, of course, assumes a complete passing away in the Infinite and Eternal One, and the realization of conscious union with the Messiah in God Most High (El Elyon).

Now, as perhaps you might imagine, if and when the angel of Yahweh is encamped around you, and more so, if and when indwelling you, with the presence of that holy angel comes the presence of countless hosts of heaven. Angels are attracted to such faithful and spiritual people, and angels are continually coming and going from their presence, and wherever they are angels abide with them in the Divine Presence, Holy Shekinah. As such, these righteous ones, tzaddikim, have the ‘ear of heaven,’ which is to say that their prayers are heard and swiftly answered, and the powers of heaven are with them, wonders naturally transpiring around them.

This verse teaches us how we may enter into communion with angels and acquire true knowledge of angels through communion and revelation; the very essence of this in in cleaving to God, whether in nearness with God or oneness with God, for as we turn to God and communion with God, quite naturally communion with the angels of God follows - it is a gift from God for those who draw close and who cleave to God in faith and love.

These are a few thoughts I was inclined to share following a stirring of my heart by this insightful verse.

May you abide in the good company of the Holy Shekinah this day and may the angel of the Shekinah go before you! Amen.

Blessings in the Holy Name of Messiah Yeshua!

We have written some basic teachings about the ‘angel of Yahweh,’ but there are further secret mysteries that it is given that we might explore, and perhaps with God’s help, considering them, we might be blessed with new insights, all as God wills and heaven allows.

Now, if a faithful person has the ‘fear’ of Yahweh, which is to say the awareness of the reality of Yahweh, and deep reverence for Yahweh, as is taught elsewhere in the Book of Psalms, they will put Yahweh always before them, and they will cleave to that Most Holy Name of the Infinite and Eternal One, and so with their soul, with their mind, heart and life, they will merge with The Name, Yahweh.

Understand, this Holy Name is the All-Inclusive Name and the Explicit Name of God Most High (El Elyon), and as such all of the Names of God are contained in it and depend upon it, all of them being expressions, manifestations, of the supernal and spiritual power of this Great Name of God (El). As we know, the Names of God correspond with the Divine Attributes and Divine Actions of God - the Sefirot of Atzilut, and as we know the Great Name encompasses all of the Sefirot, as well as the Paths - Netivot, and not only their reality in Atzilut, but in Beriyah, Yetzirah and Asiyah as well, the whole Tree of Life, the entirety of the matrix of creation, supernal, spiritual, astral and material. As we also know, archangels and angels are emanations of the spiritual powers of the Names of God, and therefore just as Yahweh contains all the Names of God, so also the spiritual powers of all archangels and angels - all powers of the heavens reaching into the heaven of heavens, the Supernal Abode.

If, indeed, in faith and love, and cleaving, we merge with The Name, Yahweh, or with the Shekinah of Yahweh, whether in nearness or oneness, in the Great and Holy Name is the power of the angel of Yahweh - Archangel Sandalphon-Metatron, and in this holy archangel is the spiritual power of all of the archangels and angels, corresponding with the manifestation of the Thirty-two Paths of Wisdom, or Sefirot and Netivot, in Beriyah and Yetzirah, and reaching into Asiyah through the ‘world of spirits.’ Understand that cleaving to The Name, Yahweh, and so to the Infinite and Eternal through The Name, whether in nearness or oneness, as the angel of Yahweh encamps around us, and more so when that great and holy angel indwells us with the Holy Shekinah, so with our soul is the knowledge and powers of all of these heavenly hosts, archangels and angels, all of these various possible manifestations of the Spirit of God (Ruach Elohim), and in this the faithful and chosen are empowered to shift the play of spiritual forces within and behind the great matrix of creation at the level of Beriyah, Yetzirah and Asiyah, or the spiritual, astral and material dimensions, all as the Holy Spirit inspires and God wills.

This, of course, is reflected in the wonderworking power that was witnessed with the Baal Shem, Masters of the Name, and the various prophets of God, and even more so in what was witnessed with Messiah Yeshua and the Magdalene, and the holy apostles after them - the powers of heaven and God, the angels, ministering to them and moving with them, keeping them company, as it were, in the Divine Presence, Holy Shekinah, Holy Spirit.

If and when a soul abides in this good company of the Holy Shekinah in oneness, as you might imagine, as they invoke and pray, angels move with them in invocation and prayer, and angels take up corresponding divine actions, fulfilling their prayers, so that as they pray, speak, it is done just as they have spoken it. If, indeed, having passed away in the Holy One and so abiding in oneness with The Name, the Holy Shekinah, then even with a mere thought, wish, angels often take action to fulfill their desire, all as God Most high ordains and wills. If in alignment and harmony with heaven and God, even a passing wish may swiftly be fulfilled.

As we know there are naturally limits to this in this world, in the midst of the karmic matrix and matrix of spiritual forces, but in general such is the presence and power of Holy Tzaddikim, specifically those having knowledge of God in oneness with God - the Great and Perfect Tzaddikim, as with the Baal Shem, Masters of the Name.

Let no one seeking to enter into the communion of the angels forget whose powers they are: God’s powers, powers of the heavens God created!

Thus, truly, as this verse indicates, it is those who fear Yahweh, and more so those who mature in faith and so come to love Yahweh, that will naturally enter into communion with the angels.

Here again I’m inclined to pause, resting in the Spirit of Yahweh.

May the face of Yahweh shine upon you and may you abide in the good company of the Holy Shekinah of Messiah! Amen.

And You

#3 Postby Elder Gideon » Sat Apr 13, 2019 7:34 am

Shalom Tau Malachi:

Now, if a faithful person has the ‘fear’ of Yahweh, which is to say the awareness of the reality of Yahweh, and deep reverence for Yahweh, as is taught elsewhere in the Book of Psalms, they will put Yahweh always before them, and they will cleave to that Most Holy Name of the Infinite and Eternal One, and so with their soul, with their mind, heart and life, they will merge with The Name, Yahweh.

Many thanks and blessings for finding this most luminous moment in the Psalms. Phrasings such as these continue to surprise my assumptions of what I’m reading and imagining of revelation.

The angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them (Psalm 34:7).

Your corresponding the angel of Yahweh with the Shekinah lends profound commentary on a mystery we recently discussed from Zohar of a surprising noun phrase in Torah:
Rabbi Hiyya said, “What is the difference here and in all such places, as is written: ואתה (Ve-attah), And you, bring near to you; And you, you shall speak to all who are wise of heart (Exodus 28:3); And you, you shall command the Children of Israel (ibid. 27:30); And you, take you choice spices (ibid. 30:23)? Well, all is in supernal mystery, to include Shekinah with him (II:179b).

I’m hearing your teaching graft beautifully into what Rabbi Hiyya is proposing of embodiment. How Yahweh moves with, through, and as one comes only through fear and love of Yahweh. Through your teaching from this psalm, I’m hearing something parallel, how the angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. While this psalms’s language sounds like the angel of Yahweh has her own camp or tent separate from oneself, a deeper push into this mystery of her encamping recalls other points throughout scripture that suggest how a tent figures for one’s own body, as when

The Lord appeared to Abraham by the oaks of Mamre, as he sat at the entrance of his tent in the heat of the day (Genesis 18:1), and

the Word became flesh and [Greek, pitched his tent] among us (John 1:14).

And you, seems to hold the entire essence of everything you’ve described in this writing. And corresponds to Vav, the Six; you is final-Heh, Malkut. In this, I hear a mystic formula of embodiment, how “He and His Name are One.”

‘The angel of Yahweh indwells those who love him, and they shall be established in the kingdom of heaven, in this world, and in the World-That-Is-Coming.’ Thus, the holy angel surrounds them and indwells them. As people mature in faith and knowledge, and as fear of Yahweh evolves becoming love of Yahweh, so their cleaving is perfected, their soul being unified with Yahweh and the Shekinah, and therefore this great angel.

I cite these examples to ask how the fear and love of Yahweh might suggest one’s embodiment of the angel of Yahweh, the Shekinah. How may this mystery of the angel of Yahweh who encamps interact with the embodiment described by And you?

Grace and peace to you from Messiah Yeshua and El Elyon!

‘And You’ (Ve-Atoh), as has been said, this is Tiferet, and more so the Six, and Malkut, indicating the union of the Six with Malkut, Shekinah. This unification of the Six and Malkut is brought about by the faithful and chosen who turn to Yahweh, the Eternal One, and who cleave to Yahweh in invocation, prayer, meditation and contemplation, worshipping Yahweh in the fear and love of Yahweh. This phrase ‘and you,’ however, specifically indicates unification in love, and so in oneness, the soul who cleaves passing away in Yahweh, merging with the Holy Shekinah of Yahweh - the presence and power of the Eternal One. As we know, Moses was Baal Shem, Master of the Name, and it has been said of him that he was as the ‘husband’ of the Shekinah and she was to him as a ‘wife’; hence, a bond of passionate love, intimate knowledge, the Holy Shekinah in him and he in the Holy Shekinah, though to the station of prophethood, not apostleship, let alone the state of the Messiah, the Anointed of God.

When the Six and Malkut are united in such a holy and enlightened one as Moses, so that one is a holy vessel receiving the full influxes of the Six and the Holy Shekinah is manifest in fullness with them; the Holy Shekinah moves with, in and through them, and at times manifests as them, and so it is with the angel of Yahweh, angel of the Holy Shekinah, and all the hosts of heaven. Needless to say, when such holy ones unveil the Living Presence with them it is an intense and overwhelming glory and power, beauty and holiness, though at times, under certain circumstances, it might be fierce and terrifying, all depending upon the movement of the Holy Shekinah and those to whom the Shekinah is revealed, whether in mercy or judgment, or the Name of Yahweh or Elohim.

Now with Adonai Yeshua, the Messiah ‘pitching his tent among us,’ understand, he was the Shekinah and kingdom of heaven completely, and the Shekinah and kingdom of heaven were him, manifesting in this world as him, the Lord (Adon, Adonai). This was different than with Moses or any other prophet before him, for in him was the complete realization of the Absolute Oneness of El Elyon (God Most High) and so in ‘cleaving’ he reached into the Essence and Being of Yahweh corresponding with Eheieh.

Concerning the angel of Yahweh encamped around those who fear Yahweh being like a tent sheltering them, and those who love Yahweh being indwelled by the Holy Shekinah, and so also the angel of Yahweh, it is quite literally like this. Understand, there is, as it were, a field of invisible radiance, glory, and spiritual presence and force in the environment surrounding a person of true faith and love, and more so anointed tzaddikim, or holy apostles, so that drawing near to them one enters into this, a great sphere of light-presence and light-power, and hidden angelic presences. One quite literally is in the ‘angel of Yahweh,’ or Yeshua, and Holy Shekinah, as though going into a ‘tent of meeting.’ If with one in a union of love, embodying the fullness of the Shekinah, Holy Spirit, and so the angel of Yahweh, such as with anointed tzaddikim, then one will enter an even greater radiance, supernal and divine; and one will find this ‘great angel’ in them and surrounding them. Indeed, if one were to be present in a moment of the revelation of the Holy Shekinah with them, a revelation of the Body of Glory and Body of Emanation during invocation and prayer, as much as behold angels of God swiftly coming to them, as though from the expanse of outer space, so you would behold angels emanating from them, from an infinite expanse of inner space within them - so surrounding on all sides and within them, though indeed ever beyond, held within the Infinite and Eternal One. This we know from our experience of Supernal Light Transmission and various experiences of spiritual empowerment with living tzaddikim in gnostic apostolic succession.

This union of the outside and inside, or outer space and inner space, is implied by ‘and you’ in the Torah with Moses, though as previously stated, at the grade of the station of prophethood not apostleship or the Messiah. As we know, however, Moses reached into the inmost grade of prophethood, as did Elijah after him, and so is accounted as the greatest among the prophets of the old covenant, certainly so! It is said that the radiance with him was so intense that he had to put a veil over his face for the sake of the people of that time, as they could not endure his countenance and he was not able to fully conceal the Holy Shekinah with him, that or the Holy One did not wish him to conceal it.

As for Abraham in the ‘door of his tent,’ this suggests prayer in aliyat neshamah, a mystical ascent of the soul or transference of consciousness. It has been said by some masters of the tradition that the angels that appeared followed him when he descended and returned to his body, visiting him on earth as he had visited them in heaven. If and when there is a full and conscious union with the Holy Shekinah and embodiment of the Holy Shekinah, such movements in prayer are very common, the Holy Spirit and angels often carrying the soul in ascent during prayer and contemplation. Thus as much as the visitation of angels in this world there is visitation with the angels in heaven and before the Throne of Glory - so deep and intimate knowledge of the angels of God along with the Names of God.

These are a few thoughts I can share with you today.

May the radiance of the Supernal Crown pour out upon many this day, may many receive the Messiah, the Anointing with Supernal Light and the Spirit of God! Amen.

Shabbat Shalom Tau and Elder!

This teaching deepens the Three Roots for me as I am seeing a ladder of ascension from faith (Malkut) into awareness of the supernal crown (Keter).

Through Sandalphon in faith, as we have fear and awe of God, God is with us. This holy angel is setup as a tent in and around us. A physical tent protects from the elements of nature and from creatures that prey upon the dwellers within. For when I am aware of distraction and negativity and set my intention on things above, I can know this holy angel is close for:
“the spiritual forces of the Other Side cannot draw near them or hinder them, their influence being cut off, and so in all actions, all that they do”.
God protects us from the archons and Satan in our journey. As we travel through the stations, fear matures into love, which speaks of an ascension where:
“the presence of Sandalphon is joined with the presence of Metatron, the angel of Yahweh, the angel of the Holy Shekinah, manifesting Hua - the angel of the Risen Messiah”.
God is with me transcendent in this union. Praise God for this Grace!

This angel of the Holy Shekinah is the Archangel of Malkut. The Name of God associated with Malkut is Adonai. It is said that this name is the most accessible name of God. In this light, is Sandalphon the most accessible of angels?

May the faithful and spiritual be drawn up in the Great Resurrection and Ascension,
Bevan.

Shalom, just noticed that the word 'encamps' is the Hebrew word 'chanah' (חָנָה; het-gimel-heh), which I read as a protective boundary in our journey to see the presence of God. :) Bevan.

Tzaddik, Great Angel, and Holy Bride

#7 Postby Elder Gideon » Sun Apr 14, 2019 8:08 pm

Shabbat Shalom, Tau Malachi:

If with one in a union of love, embodying the fullness of the Shekinah, Holy Spirit, and so the angel of Yahweh, such as with anointed tzaddikim, then one will enter an even greater radiance, supernal and divine; and one will find this ‘great angel’ in them and surrounding them.

With Brother Bevan, I too have another question regarding Sandalphon, the angel of Yahweh encamped around apostles. I’m hearing more details of the dimensionality of the inner sanctuary.

We’ll recall that the outer sanctuary with Yeshua at the head, the gospel its heart, and the anointed community of women and men as its body mirror the inner sanctuary: Tzaddik at the head, the ‘great angel’ its heart, and the Holy Bride its body. I’m feeling a relationship between this angel of Yahweh and the Holy Bride, who participate in mysteries of the Shekinah and Sandalphon.

I wish to back up to further ask about another nuance of “And you": Ve-Attah. In Gnosis of the Cosmic Christ, you list attributes for every sefirah. In the chapter concerning Yesod, you cite Zer Anpin below as the Holy Tzaddik. This is tremendous. It suggests a deep interconnection between Tzaddik, Messiah, and the partzuf of Tiferet. All of this I hear in “And.”

“You” concerns Malkut, as we’ve already established, the appearance of the Shekinah personified by the Holy Bride. If I’m understanding this correctly, another relationship exists within “And you” of Holy Tzaddik and Holy Bride, the head and body of inner sanctuary. It seems that the Holy Bride is the supernal dimension of the Presence—the Shekinah—encamped around any emanation of a Holy Tzaddik. As you’ve just taught, recognizing this is the ‘great angel’ of the Light Transmission that reveals this encampment of many angels within and all around the company of an apostle.

Sandalphon is the archangelic dimension of what is meant by the Holy Bride, the Divine Presence visible and manifest. How are these principles interacting within the inner sanctuary, the encampment around the Holy Tzaddik?

Gratefully,

Blessings to you in the Holy Light of the Messiah, the light of all prophets and apostles of God!

When speaking of the Great Tree of Life, the ten Holy Sefirot as they manifest in the five Olamot-Universes, in each Olam Malkut-Kingdom is the most ‘accessible’ Sefirah, the first that is reached in the ascent of the Soul into an Olam, and therefore the various manifestations of Malkut, the Name of God, archangel, order of angels and ‘celestial’ attribute may be said to be the most accessible. At the level of the world of neshamot and archangels, or Beriyah, this would be Sandalphon. This, however, would be a general truth and a very limited view of archangels and angels, as by nature their hierarchy, orders and arrays are not so linear, but they are meta-dimensional and more fluid or mutable. As an example, how many among the faithful of the outer church have knowledge of Sandalphon and the name of Sandalphon, verses Michael, Gabriel or Raphael, so as to invoke the archangel? Therefore which is more accessible, or more commonly invoked?

Also, with regard to the faithful who as yet have not realized intimate nearness or oneness with God, invoking the Name of God and name of an archangel, if an angel were sent, or were to appear to them, it would be an angel or order over which the archangel presides, or would be an emanation bearing their name, not the full presence of the archangel, for the full manifestation of an angelic presence would be completely overwhelming and overpowering to most souls walking in this world. Yet concerning archangels, with those souls among the spiritual elect able to reach into the world of archangels - Beriyah, all of the archangels are equally accessible, save perhaps those of the Supernals, and specifically Metatron.

Now, the angel of Yahweh, or angel of Shekinah, is indeed Sandalphon, and if and when there is an intimate nearness of a soul with Yahweh, there may be an ‘encamping’ of Sandalphon around them; likewise, if and when a soul passes away in Yahweh, entering into oneness with Yahweh, so Sandalphon may also be within them - within them and surrounding them on all sides. However, if remaining in twoness, the illusion of separation, if an intimate nearness, let alone oneness, is not realized and embodied, the angel of Yahweh that encamps around the faithful will be an emanation from Sandalphon bearing the name, or rather an angel from an order bearing the name, not the full presence of Archangel Sandalphon.

Remembering that the presence and power of all the archangels is in Sandalphon, and so all orders of angels are in Sandalphon, emanations of ‘Sandalphon’ - angel of the Holy Shekinah, may assume any of these forms and manifestations of the powers of heaven.

What is the most common angel of Yahweh with a soul? It is the holy guardian angel of a soul, so an initial ‘encampment’ is most likely to be this, the guardian angel given to a soul.

In this, perhaps, you may understand that there are all manner of grades of manifestation of the ‘angel of Yahweh’ encamping around a soul, directly corresponding with stations and states reached in the ascent and realization of the soul. Likewise in this, perhaps, you may get a sense of the non-linear and meta-dimensional nature and being of the angels of God, those of creation and the heavens, as well as those of the Supernal Abode.

Concerning what is taught of Adonai in the Holy Kabbalah, that it is the Name of God that all can invoke from any condition, even those souls having gone far astray, this speaks of the great mercy and compassion of El Elyon (God Most High). Remember, the Names of God correspond with the Holy Sefirot of Atzilut - the supernal universe, and in that all may call upon this Holy Name, so all have a way to turn to God and open to the Holy Light and Spirit of God, anywhere, anytime, under any circumstances. As we know, however, as spiritual Christians we have received and even greater Holy Name that is also given to all, the Name of Yeshua - Adonai Yeshua Messiah, which when invoked in sincere faith and love may bring about direct Supernal Influx, the radiance of the Supernal Crown (Keter). So in the Messiah we have a better Holy Name for all, and all in a great and supreme mystery within that Blessed Name is the Name of Yahweh.

Having put the ‘angel of the Lord’ in some context it must be said that we must not underestimate or place a conceptual limitation upon what God can and does do with the sending of angels, as well as the sending of spirits of ‘saints,’ tzaddikim, to people of sincere faith, who pray and worship in faith, and live according to their faith in love and compassion, even even if a deeper nearness and oneness is not realized. God is great! God Most High is the Most Gracious, Most Merciful, the All-Forgiving, and is the Most Awesome and Most Wonderful, and so with God anything is possible, and there is no limit to what God can do and will do for the faithful! Praise God!

Now concerning the Threefold Sanctuary of Grace and the manifestation of the Inner Sanctuary, understand, if an anointed tzaddik in Messiah - a gnostic apostle, the ‘great angel’ is Hua, the angel of the Risen and Ascended Messiah, which corresponds with the union of Metatron and Sandalphon; and here we may say that this is the angel of the Shekinah of Messiah, the Holy Bride, the Magdalene, or Kallah Messiah (Bride Messiah).

Of Course, when Yeshua and Mirya walked in this world together, his angelic presence would have resembled Metatron and hers would have resembled Sandalphon, and in their mystical union so something resembling Hua would have flashed forth in the world - the angelic presence of the complete and perfect image of the Human Being of Light.

Yes, it is true, the holy tzaddik corresponds with the Partzuf of Zer Anpin ‘below,’ a manifestation of the ‘Little Face’ of God in this world, and so the anointed tzaddik is the manifestation of this Holy Partzuf as realized and embodied in Messiah Yeshua. As we know, Zer Anpin corresponds with the world of angels, and therefore this suggests that the presence of a holy tzaddik is as a holy place with angels coming and going from their presence continually, and more so, abiding in oneness with Yahweh and the Holy Shekinah, so their body of light and very person is like a portal through which angels emanate, entering into this world. On occasions when there is a revelation to us of the Holy Shekinah with a tzaddik we may actually glimpse and perceive something of this reality with them, seeing for a while into the subtle, inner dimensions of the space around them and in them, beholding something of the great luminous assembly with them; what we behold, of course, is the truth and reality of the soul within us, and more so the Messiah and God within us, for if realized and embodied in them, so it is the divine destiny of us all - if with one us, then possible for each and everyone of us. Praise God!

These are a few thoughts I can share with you today.

May you abide in the holy tent of Yahweh and find refuge under the shelter of the wings of Shaddai, the Almighty! Amen.

Shalom Aleichem!
