A Prayer of the Cross: A Morning Prayer

A Prayer of the Cross: A Morning Prayer

I go out to greet the rising sun,
Praying to extend Divine Blessings:

On the top of the Holy Mountain, at dawn,
I spread out my arms, and I form the Cross,
The Spirit of Yahweh is upon me;

Come from the East, O you Shining Ones,
Come from the West, O you Ancient Ones,
O you Righteous Ones in the South,
And you Jeweled Ones in the North,
Arise, move and appear;
Come, lets us praise the Holy One!

Raphael stands before me,
Gabriel stands behind me,
Michael stands to my right,
Uriel stands to my left,
Torahkiel Yahweh is above me,
And Sandalfon is below me,
O Wings of the Winds,
Carry my voice into all directions,
Bear forth the blessing I speak;

O Heavenly Father, O Earthly Mother,
Hear my prayer!

Blessed are you, Living Father,
And blessed are you, Mother Spirit,
Blessed is the Sun of Glory,
And the Anointed Bride –
The Life and Liberation!

Let me be renewed this day, O Adonai,
Give birth to my soul, O Holy Spirit;
O Womb of Dawn, with the new day,
Rebirth me as a child of Light!

O Adonai Messiah, I offer myself to you this day,
Your will be done in my life,
Your Holy Name let be glorified,
Your Divine Kin’dom let be manifest!

Fill me, O Adonai, with Holy Awareness,
Give me strength to live this day well,
Empower my will to Good,
And grant me wisdom to see the Way;

Let your Holy Shekinah be with me this day,
And let your holy angels minister to me and accompany me,
Guide and protect me, and give me clear direction in all that I do!

Should I fall, lift me up, O Adonai,
If I should forget, remind me,
If I go astray, return me to the Path;
Empower me to walk in beauty and holiness today!

O Great Angels of the Most High, and you Righteous Spirits of the Four Directions,
Bear forth the blessing of the Holy One to the people and the land,
All creatures throughout the earth let be blessed –

Let the Light of the True Cross be in extension!

Hallelu Yah!

*This prayer could be prayed indoors, of course, with one's focus placed in the crown center.

Tau Malachi,

Thank you for this beautiful prayer. I came into the forum tonight hoping I would find a prayer to use in the morning and here it is waiting for me.

Words can not express my gratitude so please feel it from my heart.

crown center

#3 Postby yanur » Sat Dec 24, 2011 5:45 am

What a beautiful prayer. I want to pray it each day.

Doing the ritual with the rising sun is complicated for me so I would like to do it focusing on the "crown center" as suggested, but I don't know what the crown center is. Could someone define it? I am assuming it has to do with the chakra, but want to make sure there is not more to it or a different understanding of it in the Sophian tradiition.

What complicates doing the ritual is the fact I live in a valley and I don't see the sun rising or going down (something I regret, they are both so beautiful and moving within the heart).

I also want to ask if there is a Sophian "version" of the sign of the cross as Catholics do it. (In the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost) and, if not, would there be suggestions others might have about how I could do it in the Sophian tradition. I'm not even sure why Catholics do this so perhaps someone could suggest things to focus on as the sign of the cross is made.

May Mother Bless You All...

Interior Stars

#4 Postby Tau Malachi » Sat Dec 24, 2011 11:32 am

Greetings and blessings in the light of the Messiah!

In the Sophian Gnostic teachings the term "interior star" is used rather than "chakra" as in the East. When speaking of the crown center, it is the crown star, which is on top of the head - this is the place of focus for this practice. The crown star corresponds with the experience of breakthrough into supernal or Messianic consciousness, the experience of oneness with the Divine, and the awareness of the Divine I Am (Eheieh). Currently I'm giving essential teachings on the interior stars in our Shabbat discourses, and there is audio of these discourses on our website covering the root star to heart star. We will be talking about the esoteric symbolism of the nativity in our Christmas Days Shabbat tomorrow, but then will return to the subject of the interior stars the following week. Thus, God willing, there will be audio of a discourse on the crown star in a few weeks.

There is a practice of setting a cross of light into the body in the tradition, called the "Kabbalistic Cross," teachings on the practice can be found on our main website.

Peace be with you,
