Greetings & welcome!
The Internet and modern technology provides us with some pretty amazing tools to relate and interact with one another, and to build extended community, and has proved to be a wonderful vehicle for the sharing of spiritual teachings and practices; but as with everything in this world, the Internet and technological advancements come with their shades and shadows.
Recently we had to change the process of registration for new members of our forums and online community because we were becoming inundated with spam and false registrations by drug, gambling and pornography websites seeking free advertisement through membership in our forums. Needless to say we had to find a solution to the problem, bolstering our security to preserve the integrity and quality of our forums, guarding our sacred space for sharing the teachings and practices of the Sophian Gnostic tradition.
As a result we have added a new step to the process of registration in which a newcomer must send an email to our account: email@example.com and tells us a bit about themselves and why they would like to participate in our online community. This allows us to discern that the registration attempt is valid and the person is real and sincere, and then we can send them an entry code to complete their registration process.
It is our hope that new members will understand our need for the added security – it is not our intention to put off sincere individuals who desire to discuss the teachings and practices of the Sophian Gnostic tradition, or who desire to participate as a member in our online community. It is just that we are unable to manage sorting through forty and more false registrations a day to find the valid ones, so we have had to add this extra step that blocks the spammers and allows us to determine valid registration requests.
Thus far the new method we have devised seems to be working very well – we have cut off the spam registration attempts and several newcomers have been able to register as members of our forums. If for some reason you have a difficulty registering, though, please feel free to contact us and let us know, and we will see what we can do to resolve the issue and help you complete your registration process.
If you are having a problem you can send an email to the address given above, or to the email address provided on our main website – either way we will respond as soon as possible.
Blessings & shalom!
