Length of Days & the Navim - Prophets

Length of Days & the Navim

As is known, length of days or long life is a blessing that flows from Hesed-Mercy and corresponds with living to a ripe old age, such as we see in the Torah with Abraham and Sarah who live beyond one hundred years old. Length of days, however, is also associated with Yesod-Foundation, and the Holy Name of Shaddai El Hai, the Almighty Living God, length of days being transmitted to Malkut-Kingdom and to souls through Yesod, and likewise through the Holy Tzaddik “who is the foundation of the world,” preserving and sustaining life and light in the world. In association with Yesod, the dream sphere and mirror of prophecy, though, there is another esoteric meaning of length of days, one that plays out in the experience of the navim, the prophets, and prophetic and apocalyptic tzaddikim.

Listen and hear, and understand! When the Holy Spirit sets a soul on fire, and there is an anointing of a prophet and wonderworker, and an initiate begins to experience luminous revelations in dream, as well as fully lucid dream, and begins to experience heavenly and prophetic visions, just as they have a life in this world, so, truly, they have a life in dream and vision, and in the realms and worlds of the inner dimensions, spiritual and astral, and through grace perhaps even the supernal dimension. Understand, in the astral and spiritual dimensions, and inner universes and worlds, there can be a very different experience of space-time, and in the supernal dimension there may be an experience of timeless-eternity inseparable from time-eternity, and therefore experiences of lucid dream and heavenly or prophetic vision can be like a vast expanse of time, or even seem like a lifetime. For those gifted ones who are virtually always lucid in dream and who have the capacity of aliyat neshamah, mystical ascensions of soul or transference of consciousness, aside from the potential experience of vast durations of life in the inner dimensions and inner worlds, their nights are like entire days or weeks of life, and as such they experience length of days, length of life, truly so!

This, of course, is also an esoteric understanding of the blessing that rests upon those who “arise at midnight to study and contemplate the Holy Torah,” for being uplifted by the Holy Spirit, or having the capacity of lucid dream and aliyat neshamah, souls may ascend in the night to receive teachings from holy souls in the Garden of Eden, or they may ascend to the fifth heaven, Maon, and enter into the heavenly schools of great navim and tzaddikim to study and contemplate the Holy Torah and Gospel with them, or they may ascend beyond and enter into the palace of the Messiah - the Supernal Abode, to “study and contemplate” the Holy Torah and Gospel with the Lamb of God, and the supernal elders and supernal princes, and ascending to any of these heavenly realms, so the holy ones return with new teachings and revelations, and corresponding blessings to share with those who draw close to them.

As is known, consistent lucid dream, the capacity of aliyat neshamah, and the experience of prophecy and apocalypse, is an innate continuum of communion with those who come into being as Baal Shem, Master of the Name, or Sacred Tau, Light of the Cross, and as such, awake in this world, and awake in sleep and dream, and in ascensions of the soul, or movements in Body of Glory in the inner dimensions, something of the One-Who-Never-Sleeps is realized and embodied in this world.

Now as you might imagine, the experience of this presence of awareness, this full awakening of the soul, merging with The Name, or with the Holy Shekinah and Spirit of God (Ruach Elohim), transforms the entire experience of walking in this world, the experience of incarnation in the material dimension being joined with the conscious experience of traveling in the inner dimensions, astral, spiritual and supernal; hence, the experience of meta-dimensional being, for whom, in truth, there is no more sleep, no more death, but rather an experience of conscious transition throughout shifts of consciousness between various dimensions, waking consciousness, dream and vision, and the afterlife states - realization of bornless being, eternal life, or endless length of days.

As you might also imagine, this explains the vast array of the Kabbalah, or teachings and revelations, shared by great tzaddikim in each generation, their teachings and revelations reflecting this realization and reality in their experience, their Mochin Gadlut, or the manifestation of the Perfect Thunder Intelligence, certainly so! For quite naturally by day and by night they study and contemplate the Holy Torah and Gospel, and they do not depart from prayer and meditation, but they abide in a virtually constant continuum of communion, or nearness and conscious union under most conditions, and therefore the Spirit of God becomes embodied in them and manifests as them in their divine action of teaching and initiating, and uplifting souls and the world in return to God, the True Light.

In every generation there are living tzaddikim that embody this realization. In the Holy Kabbalah it is said that there are at least ten in every generation, though some masters of the tradition have said there are at least twelve in every generation. These holy and enlightened ones are among us today, walking in the world with us. I write about them for the sake of the contemplation of the Greatness of God, and the incredible love and mercy of God, and the immeasurable grace of God, through which these holy and enlightened ones come into being and are sent to us, and I write this as praise and thanksgiving to God in awe and wonder, marveling at the works of God and ongoing revelation of God. I also write of the delightful mystery of these realized individuals among us for the sake of sharing a simple spiritual practice, for if we have faith and love, and we believe in these great tzaddikim living among us, perhaps through the grace of God we might be able to encounter one of them, and perhaps even be able to draw close, but if not, if we open our mind and heart to the existence of these holy lamps of our generation, so we may receive something of their radiance and blessing even if never meeting them in this world, or we may receive the visitation of their angels in dream or vision, or during prayer and meditation, for their radiance and angels are active in this world, as are those of ancient tzaddikim of the past and the ascended masters, or supernal elders.

May we open our hearts and minds to these holy lamps that we might receive something of their radiance and blessing!

O Holy One, may your tzaddikim and maggidim continue to incarnate among us until all is accomplished in the End-Of-Days! Amen.

Greetings and Blessings in the name of Yeshuah Messiah!

Thank you for these teachings. I'm hearing something I had never contemplated before that is in this message. I've always heard "lengthening of days" as the idea that through spiritual life and practice we can take the power of the World to Come from Shabbat into the rest of our week. The way I heard this teaching is that any time that is "lengthening of days" was a time that would be accounted to our Soul and be "real" instead of shadows that would fall away.

What is interesting about the teaching in this thread is that not only are our days able to be lengthened, but also our nights through dream and spiritual practice. I'm also hearing that not only are they lengthened based on the physical time of our sleep, but in the time of the dream - which has it's own time frame, which could literally be "lifetimes"? Am I hearing all of this correctly?

There is something very magical about this teaching that brings even more awe and wonder in this dance we call incarnation. It seems that in one physical incarnation we could have innumerable "incarnations" during dream time and lengthen days exponentially.

Thank you!
Shalom, Yonah

Grace and peace to you in Hayyah Yeshua, the Risen Messiah!

Yes, indeed, during a nap in the midst of the afternoon, dreaming, it can be as though one lives an entire day, week, month, year, or an entire lifetime, and awakening only fifteen to thirty minutes have passed in this world, and in the night, passing through many dreams, so it can be as though one has lived numerous lives, experienced numerous incarnations, and yet only hours have passed in this world. Similarly, joined with the capacity of luminous and lucid dream, tzaddikim who have the ability of the transference of consciousness, or aliyat neshamah, mystical ascensions of the soul, may shift the center of their consciousness, their soul, into a body of light, astral, spiritual or supernal, and engage in journeys and divine actions that seem to span significant durations in the realms and worlds of the inner dimensions, and yet only a relatively brief span of time has passed in this world. Thus, in an hour of meditation, for example, they can engage in many spiritual works, many more than could be accomplished in one hour in this world, or this space-time continuum. When souls awaken in this way, needless to say, their experience of space and time is very different from that of ordinary individuals, and truly they experience great “length of days,” a vast duration of life filled with all manner of experiences beyond the body in the inner dimensions, inner planes, and awakened, enlightened, they are conscious of these divine actions as a meta-dimensional being living a meta-dimensional life; such is the reality of great tzaddikim, or the holy and enlightened ones.

This, of course, corresponds with the development of consciousness beyond the body, and more so, with the generation of a presence of awareness throughout the various states of consciousness, waking consciousness, sleep and dream, and death and the afterlife states, and in fruition there may be an experience of conscious dying at the culmination of this life, a transference of consciousness at the time of death so that, rather than falling into an experience of mindless unity, or unconscious oblivion, an initiate may experience a conscious transition, not “tasting death,” not falling unconscious. This corresponds with the realization of eternal life, bornless being, or “length of days without end.”

This is an esoteric understanding of length of days, and there is no contradiction to the interpretation of length of days as you have cited. The two teachings are intimately interconnected, for truly here, in this world, we are actualizing and realizing our existence in the World-That-Is-Coming, establishing our soul in the kingdom of heaven, certainly so! All that we enact that is good and true, in harmony with the inner aspects of our soul and the Eternal One, generates a parallel movement and manifestation in the kingdom of heaven, “rewards in heaven” as it has been called in the Holy Scriptures. As perhaps you might imagine, with the development of consciousness beyond the body and a greater generation of the presence of awareness, so there may be a greater establishing of the soul in the kingdom of heaven, or the World-To-Come.

Understand, in the inner dimensions, astral, spiritual and supernal, there are very different experiences of space and time, from one to another durations of time can be different, and expanses of space and existence can be different, ranging from various space-time continuums of time-eternity, the astral and spiritual universes, to timeless-eternity, or eternal realm, the supernal and primordial universes. Curiously enough, what may seem like a relatively short duration in this world can be a very long duration in realms and worlds of inner dimensions, and likewise what may seem like a very long duration in this world can be a very brief duration in realms and worlds of inner dimensions; hence, the experience of space and time is not so linear or sequential in the inner dimensions, and in the eternal realm, the supernal universe, there is timelessness.

If you consider this, this hints at the visions of great prophets, whose knowledge of things that have and will transpire transcend our ordinary experience of space and time, or reality, as though gazing from an whole different angle and experience of space and time, or the heavens and earth. Thus, they can see what to us might be a “distant future,” but to them it is a present reality, one intimately known as though lived. For those holy ones taken up in the spirit often, needless to say it expands there is experience of life, “lengthening life,” and it is as though they have a hidden life, or lives, in dream and vision, and mystical ascensions of the soul.

Perhaps you may recall that it has been taught that the holy and enlightened ones enter into the enlightenment experience that their spiritual evolution and realization is not over and has not come to an end, but rather that their evolution and realization accelerates and becomes much swifter and more dynamic than we can fathom in an ordinary state of consciousness. This present teaching hints at how this is so, and hints at the greater travels and divine actions of souls as they awaken and become realized.

Shalom Aleichem!
