Mysteries of the Supernal Shekinah & Metatron

Supernal Shekinah & Metatron

The most common teachings of the Holy Shekinah in the Kabbalah attribute the Shekinah to Malkut and Binah, Malkut corresponding with the lower, exterior Shekinah and Binah corresponding with the upper, interior Shekinah; hence, the ‘Daughter’ and the ‘Mother,’ respectively. As is known, in many teachings Shekinah is often spoken of as synonymous with Malkut and the Names of God, Adonai and Elohim, which are attributed to Malkut. These attributes within Atzilut, the World of the Sefirot, are accurate and convey secret mysteries concerning the Holy One and Shekinah, and the corresponding teachings of esoteric wisdom drawn from them are the word of the Living God, Elohim Hayyim. There is another less common attribute and body of teachings concerning the Holy Shekinah, however, that offers another vista into the depth of mysteries of Shekinah, the Divine Presence, one that is also the word of the Living God, and that by no means poses any contradiction to the standard teachings concerning the Holy Shekinah corresponding with Binah and Malkut. In these teachings of the Holy Shekinah the Shekinah is not attributed to any specific Sefirah, or Sefirot, but, in a manner of speaking, is contemplated as a distinct principle in herself, corresponding with the entire array of the ten Sefirot of Atzilut - the Divine Presence and Power of all of the Divine Attributes, or Divine Actions.

Remembering the teaching of the Sefer Yetzirah concerning the number of Sefirot, that there are “ten, not nine….ten, not eleven,” the Holy Shekinah is not to be understood in these teachings as a Sefirah, therefore forming eleven Sefirot, heaven forbid, but rather the Holy Shekinah is understood as the Divine Presence and Power, or ‘Light-presence’ and ‘Light-power,’ of all ten Holy Sefirot; hence, the Holy Shekinah of the Infinite One, Ain Sof. According to this teaching of the Kabbalah inwardly the Supernal Shekinah is inseparable from the Sefirot of Atzilut, abiding in complete unity with the Light of the Infinite, Or Ain Sof and the Holy Sefirot. In this unity ‘sparks’ of the Sefirot ‘impregnate’ her, and so within the Holy Shekinah there are ten Sefirot, from these she ‘gives birth,’ and ‘issuance’ into the Universe of Beriyah, and through Beriyah issuance flows into Yetzirah and Asiyah, and the entire matrix of creation comes into being and is sustained, all from the Holy Shekinah, the Divine Presence and Power of the Infinite One.

This, of course, is a teaching, revelation, of the great mystery of how the Holy Shekinah connects the Realm of Yichud, unity, with the Realm of Perud, separation, or how the Holy Shekinah is the intersection of the eternal realm and space-time, or the infinite and the finite; hence, how the Supernal Shekinah is the union of Adam Kadmon-Atzilut with Beriyah-Yetzirah-Asiyah.

In that the Holy Shekinah has ten Sefirot within her, ‘sparks’ of the Sefirot of Atzilut, in effect, in a manner of speaking, the Supernal Shekinah forms a ‘hidden’ olam-universe in between Atzilut and Beriyah, connecting them - Olam Ha-Shekinah, the ‘Universe of Shekinah.’ The interiors of the Sefirot within her are inseparable from the Sefirot of Atzilut, and from the exteriors of the Sefirot of the Shekinah the light and life of the Sefirot of Beriyah emits and those Sefirot come into being and are sustained. The vehicle of this transmission of life and light into Beriyah is the ‘angel of the Supernal Shekinah,’ Metatron, and like the Holy Shekinah he has ten Sefirot within him, the Sefirot of Beriyah, and because his ‘body’ is the Universe of Beriyah that olam-universe is also called the ‘Universe of Metatron.’

This naturally brings another understanding of the interior and exterior Shekinah, for in this teaching the interior Shekinah corresponds with the Holy Shekinah inseparable from the Infinite Light and ten Sefirot of Atzilut and the exterior Shekinah corresponds with the Holy Shekinah interacting with Perud, or Beriyah-Yetzirah-Asiyah; the direct involvement of the Holy Shekinah in the great matrix of creation corresponding with the ‘angel of the Shekinah,’ Metatron.

Now, all in a great and supreme mystery, inwardly, inseparable from the Holy Sefirot of Atzilut, which are inseparable from the Infinite One and are themselves infinities, the Holy Shekinah abides forever in fullness - the interior Shekinah is immeasurable, Shekinah of the Infinite One, and as the Infinite One, she has no beginning and no end, and is completely transcendent of the matrix of creation, and in the action of creation, she is unchanged. In herself, in the Infinite One, she abides perpetually in full glory and power, immeasurable, endless glory and power, radiant with all of the Holy Sefirot, Supernal Attributes. Engaging in the action of creation, continuing the play of tzimtzum, restriction, concealment, of the Infinite Light and Divine Presence, or the Light-presence and Light-power, so the Holy Shekinah restricts, conceals, herself more or less, and in effect she takes on the dance endless change, endless becoming, and she increases and decreases in her manifestation based upon what transpires in creation, and specifically based upon the thoughts, words and actions of ‘human beings.’ Thus, while inwardly the Shekinah is not changed in the action of creation, nor by creation and creatures, outwardly the Shekinah can be changed and is changed in the movements of creation and what transpires in the world, there is a play of ‘increasing’ and ‘decreasing’ in the manifestation of the Holy Shekinah within creation and the world; hence, there is this play of the interior and exterior Shekinah, transcendent and immanent, but understand she is not two, she is One Divine Presence, and in her nature and essence she is supernal and infinite - the presence and power of the Infinite One, Ain Sof.

In this you will understand that the teaching of the Zohar is perfectly true, ‘a stirring below creates a stirring above,’ and apart from a stirring below there is no stirring above; hence, the manifestation of the Shekinah in creation and the world, whether ‘full’ or ‘lacking,’ ‘waxing’ or ‘waning,’ is dependent upon creatures, and specifically upon human beings. When human beings seek enlightenment and the Holy One, and return to the Holy One, and they study and contemplate, pray and meditate, and worship the Holy One in spirit and truth, engaging in divine actions, good works, ‘cleaving’ to the Holy One and Shekinah, so there is a flow of blessings, spiritual powers, of the Sefirot of Atzilut through the Holy Shekinah into the Universe of Beriyah, or Metatron, and through Metatron into Yetzirah and Asiyah, and this world. Thus, the Holy Shekinah is with the faithful and chosen, and is manifest in fullness in this world, and the angel of the Shekinah can take up the full range of divine actions among the faithful and chosen ones, the ‘Community of Israel.’ If, however, a dark and perverse generation arises and the faithful and spiritual are led astray and turn away from the Holy One, falling into wickedness and evil, and there are few tzaddikim, righteous ones, in the world, then in effect the manifestation of the Holy Shekinah is diminished and lacking, and she ‘withholds herself and withdraws to her place,’ and it is said that the Shekinah is in ‘exile.’

As has been said, nothing changes with regards to the interior Shekinah, or the Holy Shekinah as she is in herself and in the Eternal One, but rather this play of ‘increasing’ and ‘decreasing’ happens in the exterior Shekinah, and how the Holy Shekinah relates and interacts with creation and this world, whether in mercy, compassion or judgment.

There is a secret mystery to be shared concerning Archangel Metatron. When the Supernal Shekinah gives full issuance of influxes to this great and supernal archangel so he is called ‘Metatron,’ but when the Holy Shekinah withholds herself, and is in ‘exile,’ issuing minimal sparks for the sustenance and preservation of life and little more, the alef in his name is changed to a yod and he is called Mitatron. Thus, when the Holy Shekinah is manifest in fullness, and the angel of the Shekinah can take up the full array of divine actions in creation and the world, this is Metatron, but when the Holy Shekinah is diminished, and the angel of the Shekinah is restricted in divine actions, this is Mitatron. May the Holy One have mercy upon us and deliver us from such times! Amen.

As perhaps you might intuit, this shift in Archangel Metatron to Mitatron manifests throughout the heavens, the divine actions of archangels and angels becoming more restricted, their strength and influence in creation and the world being diminished; when this occurs, God forbid, the spiritual force of the Other Side - archons and demons, increase in power and influence, and dominion, and this leads to the manifestation of severe and strict judgment. Understand, when it is said that the ten Sefirot of Beriyah are within Metatron, so all of these power of the heavens, the interior and exterior heavens, and the archangels and orders of angels - the company of heaven, are within him.

Know and believe, though, that when the faithful and chosen abide in covenant and tend the Continuum, and there are tzaddikim, righteous ones, in the world that act with full force and zeal in the Continuum, so the heavens and angels are increased, their power and influence is strengthened, and there may even be the creation of new heavens and new angels through issuances made to flow from the Supernal Shekinah. Thus, even in dark times if souls will seek the Holy One and return to the Holy One, and will tend the Continuum in faith and love, taking up contemplation, prayer and meditation, and the worship of the Holy One in spirit and truth, there is always hope, the Holy Shekinah may be ‘brought in from her exile,’ a true and proper ‘dwelling place’ being made for her - Anointed Community, ‘spiritual community of Israel.’

There is, no doubt, more that can be share concerning these mysteries of the Holy Shekinah and Metatron, but for the moment this seems to be enough and I’m inclined to pause, waiting upon the Spirit of the Lord.

May you place the Name of Yahweh before your face and may the angel of the Holy Shekinah go before you delivering your enemies into your hands this day! Amen.

Thus, when the Holy Shekinah is manifest in fullness, and the angel of the Shekinah can take up the full array of divine actions in creation and the world, this is Metatron, but when the Holy Shekinah is diminished, and the angel of the Shekinah is restricted in divine actions, this is Mitatron.

Praise the One for this most helpful teaching! I've longed to know how we may articulate this overlap of the interior and exterior Shekinah and I believe here is perhaps the most specific way to contemplate this! What a blessing!

I'm recalling in your other writings on the "shattering of vessels"—shevurot ha-kalim—a similar principle was shared of the interiors never shattering. It's only the vessels that shatter, not the interior lights. Likewise, I'm hearing how the Interior Shekinah never changes or shatters, but that it is the vessels—something of the Exterior Shekinah—that are made strong or weak depending upon the vigil of the people.

When the Kabbalah cites the proverb teaching that "the Righteous One is the foundation of the world," I'm hearing something quite related to these teaching on what determines Metatron or Mitatron. Yesod of Atzilut is the foundation of the world: Holy Tzaddik: Zer Anpin below. The force of this Supernal Light manifests as Da'at of Beriyah. Da'at is what is revealed of Keter. Here in Beriyah, Keter is manifest as Metatron. But as Da'at holds the overlap between yihud and perud, I'm hearing a nuance inside Da'at of Beriyah as the direction the shefa and ruhaniyot will move in mercy—Metatron—or severity—Mitatron.

I'm immediately taken to the Exodus narrative as a grand parable of everything you've introduced here. The people oscillate throughout the story in or out of accord with YHVH and the Righteous One, namely Moses. Where there is accord, great power and deliverance moves—Metatron. When the Children of Israel fall out in complaining and doubting the One, all of the power moves to cursing—Mitatron. See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, death and adversity (Deuteronomy 30:15). And so it goes throughout the revelation after Moses. The judges and prophets are constantly steering the interior lives of the people away from death and adversity —Mitatron—that life and prosperity may reign—Metatron. Praise be the One for this teaching you've shared!

May souls come home from exile with the Shekinah.

Grace and peace to you in the Holy Light of the Messiah, the Anointing!

As is known, Keter is called Ain, ‘No-Thing,’ for in any given Olam the Sefirah of Keter does not appear, but rather Da’at holds the place of Keter so that there are ten Sefirot as taught in the Sefer Yetzirah, ‘not nine…not eleven,’ Da’at corresponding with what is revealed and realized of the infinite potential of Keter within any Olam. Likewise, in teachings of the Great Tree of Life it is known that the Da’at of a lower, exterior Olam flows out from the Yesod of the upper, interior Olam, and so there is a dynamic interconnection of Yesod and Da’at in the overlapping of the Olamot. Thus, when speaking about Keter of Beriyah, and the manifestation of Metatron or Mitatron, or the Shekinah in ‘fullness’ or in ‘lack,’ ‘exile,’ this becomes manifest through Da’at of Beriyah, and the Great Abyss corresponding with that point on the Tree of Life.

There is, in truth, no change in Keter within any Olam, for at every level Keter is Ain and is transcendent; hence, as Metatron is in the Supernal Shekinah, reaching into the Sefirot of Atzilut, Metatron remains ever the same, ‘Little Yahweh.’ The place of change, the arising of ‘this’ and ‘that,’ light and darkness, life and death, good and evil, and the entire play of mercy, judgment and compassion, is Da’at. Thus in Da’at there is the appearance of Metatron or Mitatron, the great angel of the Supernal Shekinah in full glory and power or in diminished glory and power. Contemplating the deeper meaning of Mitatron there are some things to consider, some secret mysteries to recall.

First, as has been said, there are ten Sefirot in the ‘body’ of Metatron, these are the Sefirot of Beriyah - the spiritual universe, and so Beriyah is called the ‘universe of Metatron.’ The Sefirot of Beriyah are the spiritual powers of the Sefirot manifest as archangels - great cosmic forces, and here you may recall that Gevurah manifests as two archangels, Kamael and Samael, corresponding with righteousness and wickedness, light and darkness, good and evil in the manifestation of Judgment (Din). These opposing twin powers are within Metatron, along with all of the corresponding spiritual forces, powers, the entire array of archangels and angels, those of heaven and God, those of the demiurge and archons, and those of Samael or Satan. When the Holy Shekinah is manifest in full glory and power, and the great angel of the Shekinah appears as Metatron, or Da’at manifests as Metatron, the angels of heaven and God wax strong and hold dominion - they are in ‘ascension’; but when the Holy Shekinah is diminished and in exile, and the angel of the Shekinah manifests as Mitatron, the power and influence of the angels of heaven and God wanes, and the power and influence of angels of archons and angels of Satan waxes strong - the spiritual forces of the Other Side are unleashed, and they come into dominion, God forbid, and God have mercy upon us!

In Metatron Gevurah is manifest as Kamael, but in Mitatron it is manifest as Samael; this corresponds with a shift in Da’at, which through the power of Samael manifests as the ‘opening of the Great Abyss,’ the ‘portal to the Other Side.’ When this happens there is a manifestation of great severity - Strict Judgment, akin to the end-of-days in the world. If you wish to consider this and meditate upon this, you can contemplate the Book of Enoch 1 and the Book of Revelation, both indicate something of the manifestation of Mitatron full force, which corresponds with the power of the End-Of-Days.

Now as has been said, Da’at of Beriyah flows from Yesod of Atzilut - the Holy Tzaddik. As is well known, Yesod of Atzilut called Holy Tzaddik, ‘Righteous One,’ and this corresponds with the souls of all tzaddikim throughout all time in the Supernal Shekinah; hence, the light-presence and light-power of all of the holy and enlightened ones past, present and future. Whenever and wherever a soul enters into the enlightenment of the prophets and apostles of God - knowers of God, this presence and power of all tzaddikim, the Holy Tzaddik, is in that place, and they embody Supernal Shekinah in this world, and so wherever they go, wherever they dwell, there is the Holy Land - the Shekinah is within them and surrounds them on all sides, and the great angel of the Shekinah goes before them. In any given generation the holy tzaddikim among the faithful and spiritual, along with the devotions of the faithful and spiritual, determine the balance of the matrix of spiritual forces, and determine the spiritual forces that come into dominion. When the faithful and spiritual join with the tzaddikim of their generation and sojourn with them in the Way, there is a manifestation of Metatron, but when the faithful and spiritual are led astray and go the way of the beasts of the field - the unenlightened and wicked, then there is the manifestation of Mitatron.

There is great power in living tzaddikim, though, to draw down Supernal Influx and manifest emanations of Metatron even in the midst of a manifestation of Mitatron, or in a dark and perverse generation. If there are at least ten tzaddikim together they manifest the fullness of Metatron, drawing Supernal Influx into the Realm of Perud, but even if there is only one great tzaddik, still with them and in them there will be a manifestation of Metatron for any who join with them in the Holy Shekinah and who cleave to them, even if they are standing very near the threshold of the Day of Judgment in the darkest of generations. If you examine Enoch 2 you will find this teaching, for though there was no one worthy to receive the Light Transmission from Enoch in his generation, following his ascension and translation into Metatron - his complete self-offering, self-negation, many souls returned to God and received something of the Light Transmission according to their grade; and so the world continued a time until the generation of Noah. Noah too is a testament of this, for through just one righteous one, though a lesser tzaddik, life in the world was preserved, and because of this there was eventually the giving of the law at Sinai and the revelation of the Messiah on the Mount of Olives. Praise the Lord!

Understand what this means, and take heart! What one does matters, what you do matters; it can make all the difference in the world. So it is, what the faithful and elect - ‘Community of Israel’ in any generation does matters, it matters very much! The balance in the matrix of spiritual forces is arrayed accordingly, whether oriented to heaven and the Eternal One (Yahweh) or to the Other Side, and you must understand the fate of the world depends upon this completely.

When Da’at is manifest as Mitatron, understand this corresponds with a dark age, a dark generation, and in such times - such as the time in which we are living, many among the faithful and spiritual are led astray, going after ‘idols,’ ‘alien gods,’ for there is a great force of darkness, ignorance, in the world, and a great confusion of good and evil, so that good is called “evil” and evil is called “good.”

Here we shall say where there is da’at, knowledge of God, Metatron is manifest, but where there is ignorance of God, there is Mitatron. Understand!

There is a virtue in a time of Mitatron, though, as we see with Noah. Whatever action is done in faith and love, even the smallest of actions, bears greater fruit, greater merit or light-power, for it is manifest in great tribulation, great pressure, stress, resistance - great opposition, and therefore it shines above all more in heaven and the World-to-Come, bringing greater glory to the Supernal One. In such times, the Holy Shekinah, heaven and the angels, are in need of our contemplations of the Word and Wisdom of God, and our invocations, prayers and meditations - all devotions, that much more, for they give them greater influence in the world to interceded, all according to the mercy and compassion of the Almighty (Shaddai).

In this light consider the sanctuary of the Holy Shekinah, the Woman of Light, prepared for her in the wilderness in the Apocalypse, rather like the ark that Noah built in a very dark time; hence, the power of Anointed Community in a time, a movement of Mitatron, holding the space of Metatron in the world and for the world, and in God and for God, laboring to uplift as many as possible in return to God, the True Light, as the End-Of-Days draws near. This, exactly is the spiritual labor of the times in which we are living.

There is, no doubt, more to these mysteries of Shekinah and Metatron, but this seems enough this evening.

It has been awhile since your most helpful response. I hoped to continue inquiring into some of the mysteries you've introduced, as I'm elated with new questions after exploring two of the three Books of Enoch. Hugo Odeberg's introduction to 3 Enoch is itself an exhilarating book of mystical scholarship. What I'm sharing comes from his work and translation of 3 Enoch that I was lucky enough to peruse from our own library.

I wish to inquire of the final, climactic chapter. Here, after a blazing vision of innumerable angels within angels, Divine powers, and actions, we learn something entirely radical. We'll remember that 3 Enoch is also called The Hebrew Book of Enoch. This entire text is a Jewish apocalypse. So when I read the midrash that during the forty days Moses was on Mount Sinai, he received all seventy aspects of Torah, Writings, Prophets, and their legal rulings that would become Talmud, all of this he received from Metatron.

The angels were furious with Metatron for revealing God's Law to a mortal. Metatron answered them saying, "Because the Holy One, blessed be He, has given me authority. And furthermore, I have obtained permission from the high and exalted Throne, from which all the Explicit Names go forth with lightnings of fire and flaming hashmalim." The Holy One rebuked the angels, saying: "I delight in, and have set my love on, and have entrusted and committed unto Metatron, my Servant, alone, for he is the One among all the children of heaven" (48:9).

I'm astonished. I never imagined that Metatron was the revealer of the Law to Moses.

Before I layer more about Tzaddikim and the Shekinah from this moment than is already present here, I wished to simply pause and reflect here on how wondrously this Hebrew text claims revelation through angels. I've heard and sensed something of this for years, but this is different. It's shifting my entire understanding of revelation itself. All physical features attributed to the Holy One are now speaking to me of angels. All metaphors of relationship with the Holy One are with angels. To read Exodus 33:11 Thus the Lord used to speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend now bears out how the Holy One speaks face-to-face to a mortal. If I'm correct, Metatron is the face speaking and interacting with Moses. A pagan ignorance might separate Divine beings from the Divine Source; a far more subtle, nuanced understanding regards how infinitely Holy is the Holy One whom we can know and with whom we can commune by way of maggidim.

Perhaps it's a silly comparison, but where I write on my computer and another reads on their computer is becoming a kind of analogy of maggidim. This device, my IP, the net, another's IP and their device are a chain of actions that are much like maggidim. Likewise, even if I and another are face to face, our neural and cognitive systems are interfacing what happens and becomes comprehensible. Maggidim are like these infinitely small and sophisticated functions between brains in the larger fields of mind itself. If all of our interactions depend upon everything so large and small, how much more our interactions with the One Without End?

So no, I do and don't commune directly with the Holy One. I question what 'direct' even means to an ego, if it's even so. Neither do I affirm a gap or separation. Both are too simple and ignorant. Reality is somehow in between. This in between is maggidim. This is also how I'm hearing your teachings of the Straight Path. We can and do commune with the Holy One, once we're conscious of how it only happens through maggidim.

Grace and peace to you in the Holy Light of the Sun of God, the Messiah!

There is something to understand. When we speak of the Sefirot and Netivot, these are the power of the universe, the universe is woven of them, they flow with, in and through the universe, and they become manifest as the universe, or Reality as It Is. You are inseparable from the universe, the individual and universal are completely interconnected and interdependent, inseparable from one another, and they are one another; you are the world and the world is you, you are the universe and the universe is you, and so you are woven of the very same spiritual powers, and those spiritual powers flow with, in and through you, and manifest as you. The Sefirot and Netivot are the powers of the universe, in all dimensions of the universe, primordial, supernal, spiritual, astral and material; in Atzilut, the supernal dimension, they are the Holy Names of God and Partzufim (personifications of God), in Beriyah, the spiritual dimension, they are archangels, in Yetzirah, the astral dimension, they are orders of angels, countless angels, and in Asiyah, the astral/material, they are the celestial intelligences and world of spirits, the spirits of all things. At the level of Asiyah, so angels and spirits are the powers within and behind all things, all that appears, and there are angels within angels reaching into the astral and spiritual into the supernal universe. Concerning this radiant display, though many, understand all is one, the Holy One of Being.

The Sefirot and Netivot emanate from Ain Sof, the Infinite One, they are the Divine Presence and Power of the Infinite, the Divine Attributes and Actions of the Infinite; the Holy Shekinah is the array of these Divine Powers, the interior Shekinah corresponding with these Divine Powers inseparable from the Infinite One, as they are in the Infinite One, and the exterior Shekinah corresponding with these Divine Powers as they ray out and manifest in the matrix of creation, the universe and various dimensions of the universe. Understand, the Holy Shekinah, interior and exterior, is inseparable from the Infinite and Eternal. The manifestation of the exterior Shekinah is called ‘Metatron,’ among many other names, ‘angel of the Shekinah,’ and the angel of the Shekinah is inseparable from the Holy Shekinah, the manifestation of the Shekinah, and all in a great and supreme mystery in the Holy Shekinah is inseparable from the Supernal One; hence the mystery indicated by one of the holy names of Metatron, ‘Little Yahweh,’ as well as ‘Prince of the Face.’

Perhaps you may recall chapter 34 of Exodus when Moses asks to see the face of the Eternal One, but it is said that no mortal can see the ‘face’ of the Infinite and remain among the living. Instead, the Holy One proclaims that the Shekinah, Divine Presence, of the Holy One will pass by and Moses will be able to see the ‘back’ of the Supernal One. Then the Holy Shekinah passes by and there is the revelation of the Holy Name and Thirteen Attributes of Mercy; this is a manifestation of the angel of the Holy Shekinah, or Metatron.

As is known, there is Arik Anpin and Zer Anpin, ‘Big Face’ and ‘Little Face.’ Understand, in relationship to Arik Anpin Zer Anpin is like the ‘back,’ and so we may say of any appearance of the exterior Shekinah in relationship to the interior Shekinah; there is a restriction and concealment of the Divine Presence and Power of the Infinite One, more or less. Who in this world could endure a direct unmeasured influx of the force of the Infinite One, the full glory and power of the Eternal One, and continue to appear in this world?

Understand though that to have a direct encounter with an angel is to have a direct encounter with something of the Shekinah of the Supernal One, the Divine Presence and Power of the Infinite and Eternal; and with regard to Metatron, this angel of the Shekinah, this corresponds with a very great and intense manifestation of the Shekinah of the Supernal One, such that very few in any generation would be able to receive it. Let us remember here that many other prophets received revelation through archangels, such as Gabriel, but as we know Metatron is exalted beyond all of the archangels, and to Metatron all of them are ‘small.’ We can say this, however, the angel of the Holy Shekinah can manifest as any archangel, depending upon the grade of revelation and the movement, but the angel of the Shekinah proper is Metatron/Sandalfon.

Supernal princes, archangels and angels, these are all manifestations of the Shekinah, the Divine Presence and Power of the Supernal One, manifestations of the power of the Sefirot at various grades, various levels of measured manifestations of these power, or various levels of restriction and concealment. In any encounter with angels, though, there is a corresponding manifestation of the Shekinah, and if in the encounter there is an awareness of inwardness, the inwardness of one’s being, one’s soul, and the being, soul, of the angel, so there may be a ‘direct’ experience of something of the Holy One, the Infinite and Eternal.

The Holy One is within all things and surrounds all things, and yet is ever beyond all that appears and transpires; the powers of the universe move with, in and through the universe, and manifest as the universe, yet their source is ever beyond, the Concealed of the concealed - the Great Mystery!

Thus, the Infinite and Eternal, and the very first of the Sefirot emanating from the Infinite, is called Ain, ‘No-Thing.’

Of course, the very essence and nature of all things is this, Ain, ‘no-thingness’; it is the source and foundation of all.

Is there such a thing as near or far, direct or indirect with regard to Ain? Contemplate this well, and understand!

Here it seems I ought to pause and abide, waiting upon the Holy Shekinah, Holy Spirit.

May all return awake to its source and realize true freedom in the Messiah, the Anointing! Amen.

We have spoken of the ‘Metatron Continuum’ and the principle of the Holy Tzaddik - presence and power of all tzaddikim throughout all time manifesting with any tzaddik entering into enlightenment, or the most intimate nearness or oneness with the Holy One and Shekinah; we may assume that the presence and power of the maggidim, or angels, is also involved, and therefore with Moses the ‘revelation through Metatron.’

Your response is most lovely and animates everything I'm studying of Metatron. By your naming him the angel of the exterior Shekinah and attributing this same exterior Shekinah in her relationship with Creation, everything I'm reading of his being the greatest of the holy angels culminates into a new awareness: Metatron is the Master of the House of Creation. Being head of the angel of the exterior Shekinah, He is the mysterious interface with interior Shekinah. This is finally clicking. I praise the One.

Your naming the "Metatron Continuum" is also coming into new focus in my hearing. My source surveying the teachings of Metatron throughout Jewish mystical literature is making your same point that began this thread: Heralded by Enoch, tzaddikim are manifestations of one Metatron Continuum. What's new to me is how rabbis in all kinds of obscure source works attribute something of Metatron abiding within all the heroes of the Bible. This is exhilarating. Holy Tzaddik is both the enlightenment and The Way opened by Enoch and held open in every generation of righteous ones guided by Metatron, the angel of the exterior Shekinah.

My question is this: The value of 358 joining Nachash (Serpent) and Messiah (Anointed) is one very dear to our hearts in lineage: "The force that binds is the force that liberates." The gemmatria of 314 is the same in the names Metatron and Shaddai. This is famous in the Enoch-Metatron literature and an intention of the First Seal of Shemesh in the Art of Solomon. I'm aware that Shaddai is the most general Divine Name of Yesod personified by Holy Tzaddik. Shaddai now sounds like the key Divine Name of this Metatron Continuum. Am I hearing something of its gemmatria sharing a parallel importance with Nachash and Messiah? What more may we draw out of its implications?

When we consider the story of Enoch being taken up in ascension, seeding into human consciousness the Great Ascension and the reality of those great tzaddikim called “ascended masters,” truly it is a prophecy of the coming of the Messiah, and just as Metatron is the ‘angel of the Shekinah,’ so also the ‘angel of the Messiah,’ for the Messiah embodies the fullness of the Supernal Shekinah, abiding in conscious union with the Holy One and Shekinah. If there is something to be said of Nechash and Messiah in this contemplation of Metatron, understand that Nechash corresponds with the ‘Shekinah in exile’ and the angel of the Shekinah manifest as Mitatron, as explained above; Messiah corresponds with the manifestation of the Shekinah in full glory and power, the angel of the Shekinah manifest as Metatron.

Shaddai, the ‘Almighty,’ is the Name of God associated with Yesod, corresponding with Yesod of Atzilut. As is known, Metatron corresponds with Keter of Beriyah, but what is actualized and realized of Keter of Beriyah manifests as Da’at of Beriyah, therefore Metatron actually corresponds with Da’at of Beriyah. The Da’at of a lower, exterior Olam flows out of the Yesod of the higher, interior Olam, and as such Metatron is the direct manifestation of the power of Shaddai in Beriyah. Understanding what’s been said of Metatron and Mitatron, and of Messiah and Nechash, it is in Da’at of Beriyah that Nechash arises and appears opposite to the Messiah; hence, the arising of the Adversary, Satan, who is the ‘shadow of the demiurge.’

Here we may say that in Mitatron is the play of the demiurge and the shadow of the demiurge, the arising of Klippah Nogah, ‘glowing husk.’

Now, as has been said, Metatron is the manifestation of the power of Shaddai in Beriyah, the spiritual dimension of the universe; and understanding the reality of the Metatron Continuum, the holy and enlightened ones and the countless angels in the Light Continuum, the power of Shaddai is actualized and realized, and made manifest, through the holy tzaddikim and angels engaging in divine actions in accord with Ratzon Elyon, the will of the Supernal One. Thus, the wonders, the magical actions, we encounter with tzaddikim, or the prophets and apostles of God, understanding that with all of the spiritual works and wonders of the tzaddikim there is the manifestation of the spiritual power of angels, the action of angels - the ‘good company of the Shekinah.’

Indeed, any movement of Ruach Elohim, the ‘Spirit of God,’ becomes manifest through angels, and through tzaddikim; the angels, and tzaddikim, being manifestations of the Holy Shekinah, the Divine Presence and Power in creation. In this regard let us remember that according to masters of the tradition creation comes into being through the Utterances of God which the angels take up and enact, manifesting all things in creation according to the Word of God; and so it is with tzaddikim, in nearness, oneness, they enact what they see, hear and feel in the One, taking action upon the Word of God, and so doing the will of the Supernal One.

Concerning the number of Shaddai and Metatron consider this. In the fruition of the coming of the Messiah, in the Second Coming and End-Of-Days, with the revelation of the Lamb of God and supernal elders, the Holy Name of God that is given is Yahweh Elohim, Shaddai, ‘Eternal God,’ the ‘Almighty.’ The manifestation of the Apocalypse is the manifestation of the full force, full power and glory of Shaddai; in this the heavens and earth pass away, and a new heaven and earth come into being, the revelation of the World-That-Is-Coming. This, of course, corresponds with the revelation and realization of the interior Shekinah, and likewise the secret of the essence of the Metatron Continuum.

If you consider it, the Book of Revelation corresponds with the fulfillment of a continuum of prophecy initiated in the three Books of Enoch, and may be contemplated as an extension or expansion of the vision of Enoch in the light of the coming of the Messiah.

In closing we may also note that in the fruition of the Second Coming and Apocalypse there is the cessation of Nechash, and the sorrow and suffering associated with Nechash; hence, the full realization of the power of Shaddai.

These are a few thoughts it is given for me to share.

O Holy One, may your mercy pour out upon all creatures this day and may many living spirits and souls be set upon the path of the Great Ascension! Amen.

Your response above, attributing the serpent to Mitatron and Messiah to Metatron is spectacular. It folded perfectly with something Rabbi Sh'mon teaches in the Zohar of the mystery of Shabbat beyond religious observance: "Consequently, on this day, radiance increases everywhere, as we have said, The heavens first receive the source of life, and they illumine and adorn supernal glory from the mystery of supernal sefer-book Father of all, and from the mystery of sefar-counting, supernal Mother, while He derives from the mystery of sippur-story" (2:137b). In this, I hear a story narrated by the serpent manifest as Mitatron and the way of the Messiah opened by Metatron. Praise the Blessed Holy One!

In my reading of Odeberg's introduction to roles and examples of Metatron in Kabbalistic literature, he cites something I never heard before: "Metatron is Jacob's Ladder."

We recall this event from Bereshit and join it with Yeshua's allusion to the same event in John:

When Jesus saw Nathanael coming towards him, he said of him, ‘Here is truly an Israelite in whom there is no deceit!’ Nathanael asked him, ‘Where did you come to know me?’ Jesus answered, ‘I saw you under the fig tree before Philip called you.’ Nathanael replied, ‘Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!’ Jesus answered, ‘Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than these.’ And he said to him, ‘Very truly, I tell you, you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man (1:47-51).

This is an even more dizzying vision to hear that the structure of the Jacob's Ladder is interacting with the body of Metatron. What more may we make of this mystery?

First, understand that Nechash is not Mitatron, but rather Mitatron indicates a state of restriction and concealment of the Holy Shekinah, and therefore the angel of the Shekinah being diminished in power; hence, a withdrawal of the Shekinah, or the ‘exile of the Shekinah.’ This opens that way for Nechash to come into dominion, the spirit of the Other Side, and the corresponding spiritual forces, archonic and demonic. Opposite to this is Metatron, which indicates the Holy Shekinah manifest in expansion and revelation - full glory and power, and therefore likewise the angel of the Shekinah increased in power; hence, the full influx of the Sefirot, the full array of the company of heaven, being made manifest. This opens the way for the coming of the Messiah and kingdom of heaven. We can say, however, that all spiritual forces, all powers of the great matrix of creation, are within the dominion of this great angel of the Shekinah, Metatron/Mitatron, the forces of the Sefirot and the Other Side. Indeed, for such is the mystery and power of Da’at of Beriyah and Great Abyss, and Metatron/Mitatron is the manifestation of that presence and power, that knowledge of heaven and God.

When Metatron is called ‘Jacob’s ladder’ it alludes to this great mystery of all powers of the matrix of creation within Metatron; such is the knowledge and power, and dominion, of Metatron that as your know Metatron is called ‘Master of the House.’ The reality of archangels and their hosts of angels is not an easy matter to explain, let alone the reality of Metatron and the entire array of archangels and hosts of angels. Understand, though, that the hosts and dominions of archangels exist within the archangels and emanate from them, and are inseparable from them; their hosts and dominions are like a ‘body,’ the archangel like a ‘soul,’ and the spirit with that ‘body’ and ‘soul’ is the Holy Spirit, Holy Shekinah. Understanding this, in a manner of speaking, the entire array of archangels, their hosts and dominions, is like a ‘body’ and Metatron is like the ‘soul,’ unified in the Spirit of God, or Holy Shekinah.

Contemplating this you may recall that the Holy Sefirot emanate from one another, from Keter to Malkut, and that the higher, inner Sefirot contain the spiritual power and potential of those that follow. This plays out through Atzilut, and so through Beriyah, Yetzirah and Asiyah. At the level of Beriyah the Sefirot are the archangels, Metatron corresponding with Keter-Da’at containing all that becomes manifest; in turn, Metatron and the archangels contain the orders or hosts of angels, which are the manifestation of the Sefirot at the level of Yetzirah, and from them all of the lesser angels and spirits emanate that correspond with the Sefirot at the level of Asiyah, celestial intelligences, elemental spirits, and so on. This is all the manifestation of the Holy Shekinah, the presence and power of the Infinite One, supernal, spiritual, astral and material, all unified inwardly in the Holy One, and yet this great array outwardly manifests as countless individual spiritual powers, or beings-forces.

Perhaps you may recall what is taught in our Christian Kabbalah concerning the ‘Body of the Messiah’ and the ‘three light vestures,’ that this ‘body’ is composed of the Holy Sefirot, the ‘soul’ of the Messiah emanating from Atik Yomin, or Keter of Keter of Atzilut. The Messiah abides in oneness, conscious union, with the Supernal One and the Holy Sefirot, and so also with heaven and the powers of heaven, or the universe and the powers of the universe - Metatron, the archangels and angels, and so on. This is the Messiah likened to Jacob’s ladder, and if we understand Metatron as the great angel of the Messiah, so we may understand Metatron also called ‘Jacob’s ladder.’ Essentially Jacob’s ladder corresponds with the vision of the Sefirot, the Tree of Life, extending through the four Olamot, and so from the heaven of heavens to the earth.

Now, as is known, the Holy Shekinah does not become manifest in full glory and power until there is a holy vessel fashioned in humanity able to receive the full supernal influx of the ten Sefirot; hence, the coming of the Messiah, the ‘Son of the Human One.’ It is said that Metatron speaks with the prophet Moses at the burning bush, and in the revelation at Sinai, and that it is Metatron who shows the Promised Land to Moses from a mountain top before he is taken up by the ‘kiss’ of the Holy One, and this is true. Yet, as we also know, Moses caused a restriction and concealment of the Holy Shekinah, diminishing the manifestation of the angel of the Shekinah, when he refused to be the direct spokesman of the Holy One to the people, and that with the sin of the golden calf, which stemmed from this error, there came a further restriction, such that none of the children of Israel of that generation, even Moses himself, could enter into the Promised Land. This implies a shift, more or less, from the angel of the Shekinah as Metatron to Mitatron, the revelation of the full glory and power of the Holy Shekinah being restricted or withdrawn. With the coming of Yeshua Messiah and the matrix of great souls that were with him, however, the Holy Shekinah became manifest, and embodied, in full glory and power, the angel of the Shekinah being manifest as Metatron in full; hence, the uplifting of the Son of the Human One who is the manifestation of Jacob’s ladder, with a full ascending and descending of the powers of heaven, angels, and the full supernal influx of all of the Sefirot flowing through - the supernal light transmission embodied.

Understand, the Metatron Continuum corresponds with the Order of Melchizedek, and as the apostle who wrote the Letter to the Hebrews teaches us, the Messiah is the ‘high priest’ of that Holy Order, those who receive the Messiah, the anointing with the Perfect Light and Spirit, being ordained as sacred priests of that Divine and Supernal Order. In this, perhaps, you may understand that Metatron is the archangelic emanation of Adonai Messiah; indeed, for the Messiah abides in complete unification with the Holy Shekinah in her fullness, that holy angel being the emanation of the Shekinah of Messiah.

This is what is meant when Yohanan the Baptist proclaims the arrival of the Messiah, saying, “Return, for the kingdom of heaven has come near!” Indeed, the kingdom of heaven had come near, for quite literally the Messiah is the kingdom of heaven and all powers of the kingdom, the heaven of heavens.

These are some teachings I can share with you this morning, and with those who have ears to hear them.

May many receive the anointing with the Perfect Light and Spirit this day and be set upon the Path of the Great Ascension! Amen.

Your response explaining more nuance how Mitatron and Metatron open the way of the Serpent and Messiah respectively is most helpful. It is too simple and therefore an incorrect distortion to equate principles too quickly. Without the detail you've provided, one concludes falsely and builds upon that. God forbid!

What's exhilarating about your detail is how realities called "Serpent" and "Messiah" begin from something much finer and subtler figured by Mitatron and Metatron. The apparent 'two' here emphasize what happens over time for souls approaching in twoness or oneness, religious observance or spiritual practice. How subtle is the 'divider,' the ignorance that insists on barriers to The One.

By reflecting on your detail and revisiting my source on 3 Enoch, I found many more nuances I wouldn't have been able to see earlier. Joining and expanding upon two ideas you raised—Jacob's Ladder and the relationship of the Metatron Continuum with Melchizedek—I'm taken by an attribute to Metatron as Yesod Olam or "Foundation of the World." Of course, this denotes the same of the principle of Tzaddik, but joined with what you've shared of Metatron as Jacob's Ladder, this now illustrates something I've felt for years but have not had to words to contemplate further.

To read 3 Enoch is to feel how maggidim are a multi-dimensional energetic fiber from the inmost, secret places of primordial holiness to our physical environment in this very moment. In chapter eight, for example, there's a vision of the angels over whom Metatron presides, each who 'removes his crown for the glory and falls on his face' before the angel above-within. All the angelology here is a continuous, endless picture of energetic structure within structures. Maggidim are these metaphysical structures. The sense that continually comes to me is tissues. Our body is made of inseparable layers of tissues supported by chemical bonds founded upon atomic and sub-atomic forces. As we're each an infinite microcosmic world, Jacob's Ladder suggests as much of the macrocosmic fabrics of beings-forces.

From where this begins and to where it ends, you've directly corresponded for the first time in my hearing with the Order of Melchizedek. Later Kabbalistic literatures makes radical equations of Metatron with Adam Kadmon. The six letters of Bereshit— בראשית—can mean 'He created six'— ברא שית—each letter corresponding to the six letters of the name of Metatron. In other words, something I've never considered of the holiness of the Order of Melchizedek is now present directly in this Hebrew text calling Metatron the "First of God's Creation" and "The first letter, the Alef" and "the image in which God created man."

From your recent writings of the Generations of Adam, Gate One, you introduced:

There is Adam Elyon, the ‘Supernal Human One,’ and Adam Ha-Rishon, the ‘First Human One,’ and at the outset of the creation of the Adam, before the ‘sin’ of Adam and the ‘fall,’ they are inseparable from one another. The Holy Kabbalah teaches that the souls of all humanity were within the ‘body’ and ‘soul’ of Adam Elyon, Adam Ha-Rishon, and likewise, the spirits and souls of all creatures, the entirety of creation, heaven and earth, being within the Human One of Light.

This aligns all that I've felt of the vision of the Risen Savior first beheld by Our Lady Mary: She beheld Jacob's Ladder as a portal of the Second Adam reaching all of the way through Metatron, behind creation, and beyond into Adam Elyon. Here is the High Priest of the Order of Melchizedek. Praise Elyon!

There is much here, more than might be my portion or merit to know. But I'm feeling this connection of the Metatron Continuum with the Order of Melchizedek of our Christian Kabbalah. Is Magdalene beholding Metatron and beyond at the empty tomb? If so, her place to first see this opens up another line of contemplation from 3 Enoch of the Shekinah. I'll wait to ask after any inspiration you have to share more of our teachings of this relationship between Metatron and Melchizedek.

There is the divine action of Metatron in any significant revelation of Yahweh, the Eternal One, and there is the divine action of Metatron at any point in space and time that a soul becomes realized, enlightened, or there is the anointing of a prophet or apostle of the Eternal One, and likewise, yet more, in the flashing forth of supernal glory in the ascension of great holy and enlightened ones or revelations of ‘ascended masters,’ such as Enoch, Moses or Elijah. How much more so in the revelation of the Risen Messiah and the Magdalene’s ascension with the Messiah into the Supernal Abode? In that instant there was a flashing forth of supernal radiance on earth and in the heavens, and the revelation of the angel of the Shekinah of Messiah, a full revelation of the one called ‘Metatron.’ As we know, like Enoch and others, Lady Mirya withheld her soul from full reintegration with Or Ain Sof, the Light of the Infinite, and uttered a vow, the intention to continue to incarnate throughout the generations of Adam in woman’s form until all is accomplished, until the End-Of-Days. This is an exact expression of the holy and enlightened ones, the great and perfect tzaddikim in the Metatron Continuum, their love and compassion, and Great Gesture; hence, their desire for the enlightenment and liberation of all, and their active compassion in the labor of the harvest of souls, the Great Work.

As the Shekinah was manifest and revealed in full glory and power in the Risen Messiah, so also the angel of the Holy Shekinah, Metatron.

Understand, the Magdalene embodied the same supernal realization as Adonai Yeshua, and as such she held the same knowledge and power of the Metatron Continuum, certainly so!

Now understand, all in a great and supreme mystery, at times in the revelations of the Holy Kabbalah Metatron is called ‘Adam Kadmon’ and ‘Adam Elyon,’ which is to say the ‘angel of primordial enlightenment’ and ‘angel of supernal realization,’ and this is the ‘foundation’ of the Metatron Continuum, primordial enlightenment, supernal realization, and this corresponds with the Great Natural Perfection within all souls, the reality of souls as they are in the Infinite and Eternal One. Who, what, is the ‘Second Adam’? This is the realization and embodiment of the ‘One Soul’ corresponding with Adam Elyon, which is the truth and perfection of all souls in their inmost essence and nature, the realization of the Supreme Will in creation, the completion and perfection of creation - the Great Tikkune.

Thus it is said that with the revelation of the Risen Messiah there is the generation of a new heaven and earth, and new humanity - a new generation of humanity emerging from the ‘Second Adam’ or ‘Great Seth.’ Essentially, receiving the Messiah, the anointing with the Perfect Light and Holy Spirit, souls receive something of their essence corresponding with Adam Elyon, and in this is the power of ‘salvation,’ enlightenment and liberation. As we know there is this play of light transmission in the Messiah, and this light transmission is the manifestation of the Metatron Continuum in the heavens and on earth; those who receive this initiation and bring it to fruition are ‘ordained’ as ‘sovereign-priests’ of the ‘Order of Melchizedek,’ the order of primordial and supernal enlightenment.

This is the labor of Metatron, the regeneration of Adam, humanity.

There is a secret mystery to be spoken, though, for in relationship to the Supernal Shekinah, or Olam Ha-Shekinah, Metatron is called ‘small,’ and likewise as we know Metatron is called ‘Little Yahweh.’ Thus, though inwardly inseparable from the Shekinah of Elyon, the Supernal One, outwardly Metatron is distinct from the Supernal One, a measured array of that Divine Presence and Power; from our perspective seemingly immeasurable, but from the perspective of the Infinite and Eternal restricted, measured - ‘concealing to reveal.’ Perhaps you may recall the teachings on the Name of God Tzavaot - ‘Hosts,’ that it is the Name of God that does not stand alone, that appears in the Holy Scriptures always joined with another Holy Name and that is always invoked with another Holy Name. Something similar is true concerning Metatron, Metatron does not stand alone, and must not be confused with El Elyon, the Supreme, but always the Holy Shekinah is joined to Metatron, and though revealed with, in and through Metatron, and as Metatron, the Shekinah of the Supernal One is ever beyond; and so it is with the Messiah as well, the Messiah being within and yet ever beyond.

In this regard you may consider something you saw in your reading of 3 Enoch, the many names of Metatron that are joined to the Great Name of Yahweh, such as the name Torahkiel Yahweh and so on. This implies restricted, measured, emanations of Yahweh, or the Shekinah of Yahweh, various divine actions of the Supernal Shekinah; also, revelations of Yahweh, or the Shekinah of Yahweh, through concealments, or ‘garments.’ These names joined with Yahweh, though, indicate supernal dimensions and realities of Metatron, the ‘Supernal Prince,’ Sar, head of the sarim, ‘supernal princes’; hence, mysteries of Metatron reaching into Atzilut and the palace of the Messiah. Then there is ‘Jacob’s ladder,’ Metatron reaching through Beriyah, Yetzirah into Asiyah, uniting the heaven of heavens with the earth.

In closing we may speak an open secret for the sake of contemplation. The ‘fullest’ revelation of Metatron corresponds with the End-Of-Days; there is some hint of this in the Book of Apocalypse. You may wish to consider this secret mystery.

These are a few thoughts I was inclined to share with you today; let us abide, waiting upon the Holy Spirit, and see where she carries our contemplation, see what further she might reveal and make known.

May the Holy One bless many souls this day with influxes of the Holy Light and Spirit, and so many many experience the face of the Eternal One shining upon them! Amen.

As we know there is this play of light transmission in the Messiah, and this light transmission is the manifestation of the Metatron Continuum in the heavens and on earth; those who receive this initiation and bring it to fruition are ‘ordained’ as ‘sovereign-priests’ of the ‘Order of Melchizedek,’ the order of primordial and supernal enlightenment. 


I’m wondering given this teaching, if we can say that Metatron acts as a point of focus in creation for the Supernal light? Given this, it is deepening my understanding of the phrase: “You are a priest forever, according to the Order of Melchizedek.” I’m hearing this as, you are a point of light in creation.

There is something else; the divine name for Binah is Yahweh Elohim. One of the principle names for Metatron in Continuum is Torahkiel Yahweh. They are both joined to the Great Name, Yahweh; which as you have said, implies an inseparability from Yahweh, the Father. In the name for Binah, Yahweh comes before, and in the name for Metatron, Yahweh comes after. I’m wondering if in the name for Metatron, this implies that Yahweh shines through the Torah, hence Torahkiel? Which also expands an understanding of Torah! Does this further elucidate the name “Little Yahweh”? If the labor of Metatron is the regeneration of humanity, the generation and fruition of the Light Transmission in the heavens and earth, then can we say that each time supernal enlightenment is realized, that this is a manifestation of “Little Yahweh”?

This brings back to the name of Binah, Yahweh Elohim, which means “The One and the Many”. I’m wondering if a principle work of Metatron is the realization of the One with the Many? This also reminds of what you have said of the fullest revelation of Metatron being the End-Of-Days. Because we have been told that the End-Of-Days is the manifestation of the Supernal Light in a larger collective of humanity. This would imply more of the One being realized in creation, the heavens and the earth, and a greater matrix of faith for the Light Transmission in creation.

May the Light of the Infinite One be realized this day, in the One and Many! Amen.

Blessings to you in the Holy Light of the Messiah!

The context in which various names of Metatron appear followed by the Name of Yahweh is in a movement of ascension in a great vision, and this indicates something of the mystery of these names and their powers. On one hand they indicate the root of Metatron in Atzilut and Ha-Shem, and indicate Metatron as an emanation of the power of Ha-Shem, or Yahweh; but also they are invocations of ascents, the initiate arising from grade to grade as they invoke these names, and likewise, the initiate unifying the corresponding powers with the Holy One as they ascend, returning to be One.

Concerning the Names of Yahweh and Elohim, at times the Name Elohim Yahweh, ‘God the Eternal One,’ is used with an intention of ascension. Yahweh Elohim, though, corresponds with the invocation of influxes of the Sefirot and Shekinah - the Name of the ‘Eternal God’ in creation; hence, Elohim as the Name of God creating, and Yahweh Elohim as the Name of God completing the generation of Adam, the Human One, the fruition of creation.

Unlike Tzavaot, Elohim is a Name that stands alone, but it is, indeed, a Name that is deeply interconnected with Metatron, but then there is a connection of Metatron with all of the revealed Names of God. Remember that what ‘Metatron’ represents is involved in all revelation, and therefore in the revelation of the Names of the Holy One. As has been said, compared to the Supernal Shekinah, or Olam Ha-Shekinah, Metatron is ‘small,’ and therefore the influxes, emanations of the Shekinah to Metatron correspond with restriction, measuring, and concealment; hence, the power of the Name of Elohim. Also, understanding what’s been said concerning Metatron and the Metatron Continuum, speaking of Metatron there is a manifestation of the truth of ‘one and many in unity, as indicated by Elohim.

Yes, Metatron is like a focal point of the Holy One and Shekinah, and the Sefirot at the level of Beriyah, but then so also any angel or soul at its corresponding level is a focal point of the powers of the Holy One. In fact this hints at the very nature of the arising and existence of all beings, all creatures, each is like a focal point of the universe and the powers of the universe, inseparable from the totality, the universe, and holding something of the totality within it - something of the Holy One.

Concerning Yahweh and the Holy Torah, remember that we are taught in the Kabbalah that the letters of the entire Torah from beginning to end are a Name of God; likewise we are taught that Torah is a direct manifestation of the Holy Shekinah in the revelation of Yahweh, the Eternal One.

These are a few thoughts I can share.

The Advocate

Feast Day Shalom, Tau Malachi:

How much more so in the revelation of the Risen Messiah and the Magdalene’s ascension with the Messiah into the Supernal Abode? In that instant there was a flashing forth of supernal radiance on earth and in the heavens, and the revelation of the angel of the Shekinah of Messiah, a full revelation of the one called ‘Metatron.’ As we know, like Enoch and others, Lady Mirya withheld her soul from full reintegration with Or Ain Sof, the Light of the Infinite, and uttered a vow, the intention to continue to incarnate throughout the generations of Adam in woman’s form until all is accomplished, until the End-Of-Days. This is an exact expression of the holy and enlightened ones, the great and perfect tzaddikim in the Metatron Continuum, their love and compassion, and Great Gesture.

Praise the One! Until now, I've not heard Our Lady's vow as of the highest order in the Metatron Continuum. The Perfect Master ascended, while she vowed to remain, incarnating again and again, until the fulfillment of all things. In the context of this Holy Continuum, her vow is more radical than I ever appreciated. Praise be She!

In light of this vow, I hear the Messiah's teaching of the Advocate in St. John differently:

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, to be with you for ever (John 14:16).

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you (John 14:26).

‘When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father, he will testify on my behalf (John 15:26).

Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you (John 16:7).

These mysteries of the Advocate remind me of what I've read of a similar role of Metatron, who's both an advocate, intercessor, and intermediary. How may we hear these principles of Metatron in light of the Messiah's teaching of the Advocate?

Grace and peace to you in Hayyah Yeshua, the Risen One!

The Holy Light of the Messiah is the light of all prophets and apostles of all wisdom traditions of this world, and of the universe, and the Shekinah of the Messiah, this is the light-presence and light-power that indwells them, that moves with, in and through them, and becomes manifest as them; understanding this, so you may understand that the angel of the Shekinah goes before them, ‘delivering their enemies into their hands,’ and giving to them all knowledge and power necessary to accomplish their spiritual work and mission, the Advocate, who is the Holy Spirit and who is Metatron, or the Metatron Continuum.

Understand, there is the Shekinah, the Holy Spirit, the ‘Advocate,’ and there is Metatron, the ‘Advocate’; in Perud the manifestation of the Shekinah, Holy Spirit, is as Metatron, and as the entire array of tzaddikim and angels, greater and lesser tzaddikim, greater and lesser angels, and so the Advocate is with them, more or less, guiding and empowering their divine actions, all as the Supreme wills, all as the Supernal One ordains.

There are naturally gradations of the revelation and manifestation of the Advocate, for those able to ascend into the palace of the Messiah, the Supernal Abode, so there may be the direct manifestation of Shekinah, Holy Spirit, as Advocate; likewise, in the experience of supernal consciousness, merged with the Supernal Shekinah, so there is a direct manifestation of the Shekinah, Holy Spirit, as Advocate. Yet, in divine actions within realms and worlds of the spiritual, astral and material dimensions there is the manifestation of the angel of the Shekinah as the Advocate, angels being involved with all movements of the Holy Spirit in creation, in heaven and on earth.

The ‘Continuum,’ ‘Light Continuum,’ ‘Metatron Continuum,’ as you know and understand these are all synonymous terms in our Christian Kabbalah, and they imply the play of initiation, anointing, light transmission, through which living spirits and souls are awakened, and so may enter into the experience of enlightenment and liberation, the Great Ascension. In this ‘Advocate’ connotes the knowledge and power of the ‘Continuum of Light Transmission,’ the full array of light transmission. If we consider the Risen Messiah imparting the Holy Spirit to the disciples in the upper room, joined with the supernal influx they received in the upper room on Pentecost, this is the ‘leaving of the Advocate’ with them, the full knowledge and power of the light transmission, or the anointing with the ‘Perfect Light and Holy Spirit.’

Here we may say that any movement of light transmission in this world is a movement of the angel of the Shekinah, the manifestation of the angel of the Shekinah corresponding to the grade of light transmission that transpires; the inmost grade of light transmission corresponds with the angel of the Shekinah manifest as Metatron, and ‘reaches beyond’ into the direct experience of the Supernal Shekinah in conscious union.

These are a few thoughts it is given for me to share with you.

Many praises to The One for illuminating these dimensions of the Advocate. I never appreciated until inquiring into the literature how often on Metatron-Enoch intercedes on behalf of Israel. Midrashim cited by Odeberg describe how "when Satan tries to accuse Israel on high, Metatron makes him confused so that he us unable to bring forth his accusation....He records the merits of Israel and seals the records: When the wrath of the Holy One is kindled against His children, then Metatron prays for them and reverses decrees of judgment."

When heavenly courts rule in severity, it appears that this pattern of the Metatron Continuum moves its envoys to intercede. When Abram for ten tzaddikim in Sodom and Gomorrah, or Noah by building the ark, or Moses with his own life, their intercession escalates, generating the merit necessary to reverse the decree of heaven. The Perfect Tzaddik goes farther than anyone before, offering himself in intercession in the Great Gesture. Our Lady seems to take this to another plane, offering to reincarnate in woman's form in every generation until the End of Days.

The moment of her vow surprised me in our recent study of the Zohar. Concluding an exquisite teaching of the forty-nine gates of understanding, Rabbi Eleazar draws upon the twenty-five letters of the Shema with the twenty-four letters of "Blessed be the Name of His glorious sovereignty" which sum forty-nine. The last word of the Shema is ahad—one. The last word of "Blessed be..." is ve-ad—and ever. Earlier, Rabbi Shi'mon explained that "to prevent the evil eye from dominating [the Shekinah], we interchange the letters, not saying ehad, one, openly. But in the time to come, when the evil eye will be eliminated and no longer prevail over Her, She will be called one openly" (2:134a). This unification of ve-ad and ahad will come when "all those [forty-nine] letters join as one and ascend to forty-nine gates, in the mystery of Jubilee. Then one must elevate ve-ad, and ever—no further—upon which gates are opened, and the blessed Holy One considers that person as if they had fulfilled the complete Torah, which appears in forty-nine facets, completely" (2:139b).

I believe something of this mystery described here of for ever unifying with one is the Fiftieth Gate of Understanding, the consummation of the Gospel. Given the Advocate taught above, how is the Metatron Continuum shifting here in the Bride's recognition of the Risen Savior and her willingness to incarnate again and again until the End of Days?

Blessings to you in the Holy Light of the Messiah, the light of all prophets and apostles!

Yes, indeed, Metatron intercedes on behalf of spiritual Israel, or faithful and spiritual humanity, and Metatron labors to diminish the power of the spirit of the Other Side, the power of the angels of archons and demons, the demiurge and Satan. Understanding the Metatron Continuum, as we have discussed it, this transpires through direct emanations of the presence and power of Metatron, as well as through the sending of tzaddikim and angels into the world to shift the balance of the matrix of spiritual forces. If we consider what is taught of the divine actions of the Risen Messiah in the ascension according to esoteric gospels, he assumes various appearances, emanations, extending the Light of the Cross and diminishing the powers of archons and demons, shifting the matrix of spiritual forces in the heavens; this naturally is the divine action of the great angel of the Shekinah of the Messiah, the Shekinah of Yahweh, Yeshua.

As we have said, though, the manifestation of the ‘angel’ of the Holy Shekinah changes depending upon the divine action of the Shekinah - the angel being the divine action. If a direct emanation of Metatron, then Metatron, but if indirect then another from among the archangels such as Michael or Gabriel, and so on.

Concerning the Fifty Gates of Understanding, the forty-nine gates correspond with the matrix of creation, the heavens and earth, and all that is in them, and they allude to an evolution to the Highest of Life - the Messiah and Holy One; hence, the play of creative evolution, the realm of becoming, the fruition of which is conscious unification with the Infinite and Eternal One, and full reintegration with the Light of the Infinite, Or Ain Sof. Thus, the fiftieth gate corresponds with the realm of being - bornless being, and the forty-nine gates corresponds to the realm of becoming, or we may say ‘coming into being.’ It is the Messiah, and the Messiah alone, that opens and reveals the fiftieth gate, for that gate is the Pleroma of Light and is the Messiah; and so it came to pass that with the coming of the Messiah, and specifically in the revelation of the Risen and Ascended Messiah, that holy gate was opened and the transmission of supernal light was manifest in this world, in spiritual humanity.

As you may recall, though Enoch entered into supernal realization and embodied the Supernal Shekinah, there were no righteous souls, no spiritual human beings, able to receive the light transmission from him, and therefore the Holy One took him up in divine rapture; at that time there was no matrix of souls - spiritual Israel, to receive the Messiah, and so the Messiah did not come. When Enoch was taken in ascent, as has been taught, he withheld himself from full reintegration with the Infinite Light, and as such he did not open and reveal the fiftieth gate.

Moses was able to open forty-nine gates, as did Enoch, but like Enoch the karmic conditions of his generation did not allow for the coming of the Messiah. There were, indeed, those who could receive something of the light transmission from Moses, and there was a formation of spiritual Israel, but at that time Israel was greatly impaired and the matrix of souls was not sufficient for the Messiah to be well received at that time. This, as we know, continued throughout the time of the judges and prophets until the return of the soul of Elijah and the appearance of Adonai Yeshua at the Sacred Jordan. The complete opening and revelation of the fiftieth gate, however, became possible through the sacrifice of Adonai Yeshua on the cross and the resurrection that followed, and there with the Magdalene, the Holy Bride, and the light transmission that transpired between them that holy of holies among the Fifty Gates was revealed, the secret of secrets. Through Yeshua Messiah and the Magdalene, the Apostle of the apostles, so the entire matrix of souls gathered with them received the full influx of the Perfect Light and Holy Spirit, and the continuum of light transmission was established in the world through the apostolic succession.

From that time Metatron stands as the great guardian and advocate of the transmission of the supernal light made manifest in this world and the gnostic apostolic succession that bears it, and with her holy vow so the Magdalene returns in every generation to labor for the full reception of the Bride - enlightened womanhood co-equal with enlightened manhood, the fullness of the Human One of Light, and with her soul’s return in each generation, so to ensure that this continuum of light transmission remains in the world until the fruition of the Second Coming in the End-Of-Days, the full realization of the World-To-Come, or “New Jerusalem.”

Ve-ad, ‘and ever,’ this corresponds with the Holy Shekinah, Holy Bride, manifest in the realm of ever-becoming, corresponding with the forty-nine gates, and achad, ‘one,’ this is the Holy Shekinah, Virgin of Light, manifest as the realm of eternal being, corresponding with the fiftieth gate; hence, being and becoming inseparable, the fruition of becoming in the realization of oneness, conscious union with the Eternal One, Yahweh.

In the Risen Messiah the ‘evil eye’ that may be cast upon the Shekinah is ‘plucked out,’ it’s power vanquished! Hallelu Yah! Praise the Lord!

This, of course, corresponds with the manifestation of Metatron/Sandalfon/Hua as the angel of the Holy Shekinah in full power and glory. Praise God!

These are a few thoughts I may add to your contemplations.

May all who desire it abide in the good company of the Holy Shekinah of Messiah this day, free from the evil eye of the Adversary, free from sin and death! Amen.
