Jesus said, "I have cast fire upon the world, and see, I am guarding it until it blazes."

Verse 10 holds beautiful promise for humanity and creation. But what about those who don't live in close proximity to a master or adept? We can take heart in Tau Malachi's words, "A radical change occurs on a perceptible level only when the ground and conditions for it are prepared." I believe we can get to that point by our own spiritual concentration and work (along, of course, with Grace) -- and that achievement for our Souls is itself important and wonderful. But for those who get to that point and want to go further, perhaps even receive the Light Transmission, what is next if they don't live near an adept? It seems that a transmission from an ascended master might achieve the same results.

May We All Learn to Recognize Our Christ Consciousness.

Greetings Brooke!

An intriguing insight my friend and it comes with even better news. There are a few companions in our circle who have done just that--moved! Life circumstances allowed this and their heart moved from within them to translocate.

For others who cannot move, there is great news still. Through a cultivation of the spiritual life and practice and its generation of merit, the Light can be known quite directly in one's own experience. Where is distance while in prayer, meditation and even dream? Cleaving to the Indwelling Christ, many who are physically distant from our main circle have experienced this fire cast by the Risen Savior.

Be encouraged in your journey by the awareness growing within you. Give thanks indeed, dear friend, for the public access to this Gnostic Tradition! Many spiritual opportunities such as these forums, main website, and online chat are just beginning to open to you and for you in the Holy Spirit!

Wink

Greetings Brooke!

It is ideal if we happen to live close to a spiritual adept or master, a tzaddik, and are blessed to be part of the circle of spiritual companions that gather around them; but, of course, this is the actual world and the ideal is not always possible. Nevertheless, there are many different ways through which we may receive something of the Gnostic and Light Transmission – after all, it is a movement of Divine Grace regardless of the vehicle or dimension through which it occurs.

Frequently, if a person has a strong heart connection or spiritual connection to a living adept or to a living master, and they are open and sensitive to the energy dimension, they can receive something of the Light Transmission at a distance through the subtle inner dimensions. The Light-presence and Light-power of a tzaddik is not bound by space-time or their physical presence, but can extend beyond the physical presence through inner and metaphysical dimensions, such as the astral dimension. Likewise, if a person becomes open and sensitive, they can receive something of the Light Transmission from an “inner plane adept or master” (tzaddik) or from a divine being (maggid) though the inner dimensions. There may also be a direct transmission of Divine Grace, a direct reception of the Mother’s Force, the Light from above – there are many possibilities.

There is a story in Acts of the experience of Saul of Tarsus who becomes St. Paul – he experiences Light Transmission through the Living Yeshua (Risen Christ) in the visionary dimension, then goes to visit the disciple of an apostle in Damascus to be “healed” and to receive teachings and initiation – to ground and integrate his spiritual or mystical experience. Many receive in a similar way, then go and visit a tzaddik to ground their experience in the material dimension – there are, indeed, many possibilities.

Sophian practices are designed to facilitate the Gnostic and Light Transmission on many different levels. Thus, taking up the spiritual life and practice, at some point, some gradation of Light Transmission is likely; it is all a question of our spiritual development and evolution, our openness and sensitivity. The only difficulty with experiences of Light Transmission apart from an actual tzaddik and community is the various levels of subjectivity or misperceptions that may occur when there is an imbalance in spiritual self-worth and spiritual humility, or a mental-emotional imbalance. If a person is imbalanced they might assume a peak experience means more than it does or egoistically grasp at it, assuming they are “enlightened” or “realized” prematurely, or assume the information they may acquire has a greater “cosmic meaning” than it does. But, then, such are the dangers of the mystical journey in any case – the key is to allow experiences to unfold without grasping at them and to maintain a balance of spiritual self-worth and spiritual humility.

Although we may not live near an actual Gnostic community through virtue of modern technology we can participate in online community and have contact with experienced Gnostic initiates – while it might not exactly be the “ideal,” it can help us maintain a healthy balance, and serve to encourage, support and facilitate our Gnostic experience. At the end of the day, even if one is in an actual sacred friendship with a tzaddik and involved in actual community, it is all about one’s spiritual life and practice and the movements of Divine Grace that occur through it – our own experience of Divine Gnosis (the real *Gnostic Ideal*).

So, indeed, there are many possibilities – and there is that old saying: “With God, nothing is impossible.”

*If you desire to receive the Light Transmission, with faith go within, holding the conscious intention of the reception of the Mother’s Force, the Light from above; go within and live within seeking to be open and sensitive to Divine Grace – in due season the Divine will fulfill your heart’s desire. (This is an essential practice of Sophian Gnostics.)

May we be open to all the possibilities of Divine Grace; amen.

Shabbat Shalom!

Thanks, friends, for these posts. You gave me much food for thought. By the way, my husband, Peter, said he wouldn't be opposed to moving to California to be closer to the Sophian circle. As you both point out, there are sorts of possibilities -- and, with God, ALL is possible. Any such move must be led by the Holy Spirit but, who knows, it might be the right place for us one day; right now both of us just remain focused on our spiritual development.

But there may come a time when such a community will be needed, and one of Tau Malachi's statements makes that expressly clear to me: "The only difficulty with experiences of Light Transmission apart from an actual tzaddik and community is the various levels of subjectivity or misperceptions that may occur when there is an imbalance in spiritual self-worth and spiritual humility, or a mental-emotional imbalance."

I thank you all so much for this special place where I may connect with those on a similar journey to Gnosis. Thanks for the books, forum, posts, and support here which edify my soul.

May love, light, and blessings rain on all who post here!
