The Lord’s Prayer: Mysteries & Kavvanot
The prayer begins:
“Our Father in heaven…”
As we know and understand, the Father, Abba, is Hokmah-Wisdom, and as a Partzuf Abba is Atzilut, the World of the Sefirot, and this is our point of focus as we speak these words, with our heart and soul, mind and strength we cleave to the Holy Sefirot, which is the Mystical Body of the Risen Savoir.
We may contemplate the teaching of the Master, “You who have seen me have seen the Father (Abba).”
Arik Anpin, Atik Yomin, Adam Kadmon – all of these are in Abba, and so cleaving to Abba we may gaze into these deep mysteries, all to the extent that we unify our soul with the Holy Sefirot, drawing upon their shefa (influxes) and receiving the blessing of their ruhaniyot (essences).
We may contemplate the teaching of the Master regarding the bread and wine as his “body and blood.”
“In heaven” is the Holy Mother-Imma, the Virgin of Light in whom the Messiah is conceived, gestated and born – the Mother, the immanent and revealed presence of God, inseparable from the Father, the transcendent and concealed presence of God, one Holy Shekinah, above and below. So also, this heaven is the “eighth heaven,” the heaven of enlightenment and liberation, the Pleroma of Light from which the Messiah emanates, which is likewise is the true abode of our holy soul, transcendent.
We may contemplate the teachings of the Master, “In my Father’s house there are many mansions.”
Likewise we may meditate upon the Woman of Light and her Holy Child in the Apocalypse.
“…hallowed by your name.”
This is Yahweh, the Light Continuum, within which is Adam Kadmon, Atzilut, Beriyah, Yetzirah and Asiyah, and so our point of focus is the Great Name and the remembrance of all, from the primordial and supernal worlds to the material world, as the emanation of the Shekinah of Yahweh, the Holy One – all in God, God in all, and God transcendent of all.
(The essence of Yahweh is Eheieh, I Am or I Shall Be, and so if we have the strength and knowledge we can cleave to Eheieh at this point. This cleaving is Clear Light Dissolution and the arising in our innate purity, the realization of the Great Natural Perfection.)
We may contemplate the I Am Statements of the Master.
“Your kingdom come.”
This is Supernal Malkut, and corresponds with the Name of Adonai, and so our point of focus of cleaving to Adonai, the Messiah and the Most High as revealed to us; so also this is the awareness of the Light Realm within and all around us, our knowledge acquired in our experiences of the Light Transmission, and our desire to share or extend that Holy Light, the Light of the Messiah, the Light of the True Cross (Shin-Tau, the Great Seth).
In other words, our focus is the reception of the Shekinah of the Messiah, her coming to rest upon us for the people – our drawing down the ruhaniyot and shefa of the Supernal Sefirot for the people. Thus, we bring this Holy Light down through the world of souls and world of angels into this world, holding and anchoring the Divine Presence and Power for the world, laboring in the harvest of souls.
We may contemplate the teaching of Yohanan and Yeshua, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”
Likewise we may contemplate the teaching of the Master, “The kingdom of heaven is spread out upon the earth…”
“Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
This is Ratzon Elyon, Keter, Eheieh, and taking up the will of the Most High (Elyon), our focus becomes drawing all up in the Great Ascension, the divine rapture of all.
We may contemplate the revelation of the Risen Messiah and the ascension of Yeshua Messiah, and so, too, the Second Coming.
"Give us this day our daily bread."
This is Tiferet-Beauty, or Rehamim-Compassion, the Sefirah of the Messiah, corresponding with the Blessed Name of Yeshua Messiah, and our focus becomes cleaving to Tiferet and the Risen Messiah for the people, and the heart-wish for the salvation or happiness of all.
We may contemplate the teachings of the Master, “I am the true bread of heaven.”
“And forgive us our debts, as we have forgiven our debtors.”
This is Hesed-Mercy, corresponding with the Name of El, and our focus becomes the invocation of mercy for the people, the dispelling of sin and death, the dispelling of negative karma.
We may contemplate the prayer of the Master on the cross, “Father, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.”
“And do not bring us into the time of trial, but rescue us from the evil one.”
This is Gevurah-Severity, corresponding with Elohim Givor, and our focus becomes the invocation of Divine Guardianship or Protection for the people, the driving out of all shades and shadows from among the people – all receiving holy sanctuary in the Risen Messiah.
We may contemplate the saying of the Master, “Get behind me Satan!”
In fruition of this prayer or invocation we arise in the Light Body, appearing as the Risen Savior – in holy union, and intoning the Kabbalistic Cross we invoke the full Supernal Influx, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the people, Thunderbolt Illumination. This completes and seals the movement, completing the prayer or invocation.
These are the essential mysteries and kavvanot of the Lord’s prayer taught in the tradition, and by name it is a prayer of Adonai, which means that the Holy Shekinah of the Messiah prays this prayer in us and as us – such is our view when we pray the “Lord’s Prayer.”
Here we may say that this entire prayer is in the Kabbalistic Cross.
May the prayer of Adonai be fulfilled among us. Amen.
