One Shepherd, One Flock (John 10:16)

One Shepherd and One Flock

“I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold. I must bring them along also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd” (John 10:16).

On the surface the plain meaning is clear. Yeshua is speaking to the children of Israel, to Jews, and here he is saying that there are those who are chosen from among other nations - gentiles, who will also receive the Gospel, the Word of God, and be united with Anointed Community - the Body of Messiah. Although the initial preaching of the Gospel and revelation of the Messiah was among the children of Israel, fulfilling prophecy, the Messiah has come for the sake of all humanity, and in the Messiah the chosen are not isolate to Israel but are to be found among all peoples, all nations. From a gnostic perspective this reflects the reality of the full embodiment of Messiah and Holy Spirit, not isolate to Adonai Yeshua, but to be embodied in all believers so that through the Holy Spirit all are united with Messiah in the Eternal One (Yahweh), and all are ordained as priests and prophets - ministers and messengers of the Living Word and Wisdom of God.

One shepherd, one flock, all united in the Messiah, the Messiah and Holy Spirit indwelling all, uniting all to one another, and all to God Most High (El Elyon). Thus, there is the Good Shepherd ever beyond, the Risen and Ascended Messiah who opened that way of the Great Ascension, Great Exodus, and there is the Good Shepherd within each and everyone of us in Anointed Community, the indwelling Messiah that leads each soul in the Way, the Holy Spirit that carries them in ascent. As we know the Messiah and Holy Spirit is inseparable from our divine spark and Divine Self - the Divine I Am, and so the ‘voice’ of the Good Shepherd is heard within the heart of the soul, and is the voice of our Divine Self.

In this we may recall the teaching of Adonai Yeshua to his disciples when sending them out to preach the Gospel, ‘Those who receive you receive me, and those who reject you reject me.’

This is the plain meaning along with the obvious inner, esoteric meaning; but there is a deeper esoteric meaning that is well reflected in gnostic gospels. As we know and understand, there is an earthly and heavenly ministry of Messiah Yeshua, the preaching of the Gospel and revealing the Risen Messiah on earth and in heaven, and the various realms that are in between. In that this is spoken in his earthly ministry when he speaks of another ‘fold’ we may also take this to refer to a celestial and heavenly fold composed of angels of creation, archons, and various luminous spirits, and even unclean and evil spirits who hear the Word of God, receive the Messiah, and follow in the Way. Thus we may understand that he is speaking of a visible and invisible assembly as ‘one flock’ - one Anointed Community, which is the Body of the Messiah.

As we know, in the formation of a gathering of disciples and followers with anointed tzaddikim, or apostles, along with the visible assembly there is an invisible assembly that gathers, the invisible assemble even larger than the visible one. When teachings and revelations are given, or blessings and empowerments, or when there are gatherings for invocation, prayer and sacred ceremony, as people come, so also angels of creation, angels of archons, and all manner of spirits - spiritual beings, forces, seeking to receive and give, and seeking draw near and worship in the Divine Presence, Holy Shekinah, all together, all unified in the Messiah - the ‘Spiritual Sun of God.’

This also speaks to the ways of the Magical Kabbalah, or divine theurgy, wonderworking, among gnostics, the invocation of all manner of angels and spirits, along with those of the Messiah and God, or the kingdom of heaven, in service to the continuum and the harvest of souls - the manifestation of blessings from God for the people and the land through them. In so doing those having received the Word are able to be of service and do good works, their knowledge and powers being used for the sake of the harvest of souls, kingdom of heaven and glorification of God. Likewise, for those who have not received the Word, but who come in peace and are seeking the True Light, so a spiritual conversion may be facilitated for them and they may receive the Living Word, the Holy Light and Spirit of the Messiah.

The Messiah comes for all people, and for all creatures, on earth and in heaven, and in those realms in between the earth and the heavens, and so it is with our labor of an energetic ‘preaching of the Gospel,’ bearing the light, healing and peace of Messiah to all our relations, all creatures, all sentient beings, understanding a universal salvation in the Risen Messiah.

These are a few thoughts arising in the moment from contemplation of this verse.

May all living spirits and souls be gathered in who are destined to be gathered in, may all who desire the Anointed receive their anointing and be uplifted in the Great Ascension! Amen.

Yeshua Shalom!

Shabbat Shalom Tau and Community!

I am lifted in my imagination by the scope of Anointed Community in this Great Work we labour together in! I am grateful for the expanding of my awareness.

this is spoken in his [Yeshua's] earthly ministry when he speaks of another ‘fold’ we may also take this to refer to a celestial and heavenly fold composed of angels of creation, archons, and various luminous spirits, and even unclean and evil spirits who hear the Word of God, receive the Messiah, and follow in the Way. Thus we may understand that he is speaking of a visible and invisible assembly as ‘one flock’ - one Anointed Community, which is the Body of the Messiah.

Most move unaware of the angels, archons and spirits behind and within physical reality. A recent teaching indicates that the divine spark is within all these beings for all exist within God, the True Light. In this post, the instruction is to know that Anointed Community includes both souls and spirits. Knowing we join with these beings through our thoughts, words and actions, how might we further acknowledge and participate with them?

The Wedding Feast is one example that comes to mind. I read in one version of the practice: “invite all beings to the Wedding Feast, that all who desire to receive the Spirit of Truth might partake and be blessed". Another idea is the practice of making an offering in nature, “if anything is taken from nature, some offering is made in exchange and it is taken with respect, asking in prayer.”

May many spirits return, being drawn to the Light, knowing they have their being in the Holy One!

Greetings and blessings in the Holy Light of the Messiah!

Just as we may learn to see signs of God Most High in all manifestations of nature, and more so to perceive all things, all creatures, as a veil of God and face of God, and learn to ‘see’ God within all things, knowing things in their inwardness, so also we may learn to see, hear and feel the angels of creation and spirits within and behind all things that appear, this becoming an integral part of our communion with the Messiah and Holy One. In our experience this is a natural, progressive development of awareness as we live inside, become more and more aware of our own inwardness, and become more and more open and sensitive to the Spirit of God within and all around us.

Perhaps you may recall the story of St. Francis preaching to a flock of sparrows, or his inclusion of livestock in services of worship. Such actions reflect an intuition of the truth of the Gospel we are sharing, an illumination of his heart and mind by the Holy Spirit, such that he would sing and speak to all creation, even the sun, moon, oceans, and whatnot, while worshipping and giving praise and thanks to God. In his eyes, all creation, all creatures, were his siblings in Messiah, ‘brothers’ and ‘sisters.’ It is much the same with those of us who sojourn the Gnostic Path, and so with angels and spirits too, they are our siblings, part of our divine and enlightened family. We pray for all our relations, and we invite all our relations into our communion with the Messiah and Holy One.

The Magical Kabbalah, of course, is filled with teachings and practices of theurgic invocation and ceremony, invocations of all manner of angels and spirits as we engage deep prayers and ceremonial gestures offering invisible spiritual assistance and interventions for people in need. In those spiritual works, merged with the Divine Presence, Holy Shekinah, Holy Spirit, invoking and blessing angels and spirits, so in the Blessed Name we invite them to share their knowledge and power with us as we shares ours with them in the Divine Presence, and we charge and send to accomplish various corresponding actions as heaven and God intends. I’ve written many teachings and practices revealing how this may be done, things to get newcomers started; but then, the way of the ‘magical,’ theurgy or wonderworking, is an art, and ultimately it is a creative play in the Spirit of God.

The ‘Order of Uriel’ forum, for example, teaches much about this.

One central way of opening to this, of course, is a communion with God in nature and creatures, and so a communion with the living spirits of things in the environment from places, stones and earth, to waters, sky and winds, to plants and trees, and animals. Just as we learn to be fully present with other people in the Messiah, with love and compassion for them, seeing them and hearing them, so with all things in nature and creatures. Here I’ll say that it is a playful and creative affair, and needs some imagination, and in this regard we may take a lesson from little children and their very creative magical consciousness! Quite frankly, thinking as a ‘reasonable adult’ - or ‘boring adult,’ just won’t do! Instead we must learn to feel with our heart and belly, and let go to a playful joyful communion, and have some fun in the Spirit. Yes, fun!

If it first it seems funny, silly, foolish, who cares? I will tell you this, though, if we keep at it we will find that it leads to very powerful, wonderful, movements in the Spirit, and a deep communion with heaven and God, and with angels of creations, living spirits, celestial and elemental, and spirits of various sorts, along with the creatures themselves.

It’s all about walking in beauty and holiness, and the love of the Messiah, delighting in creation and creatures - the works of God Most High, the creator of heaven and earth.

In this light read again the various teachings and parables of Adonai Yeshua speaking about nature and creatures, and every day life of peoples, and feel his love and joy in those things he observed and spoke about. He clearly had a deep communion with this Good Earth and everything in it just as he did with heaven and God - all in the One God. So too consider the many psalms that invoke creation and creatures to praise and worship in the presence of God; many ways of such invocation are taught in the Book of Psalms - they can be quite mystical and magical.

May the good grace of God be with you this day, and may you know wherever you are, God is with you in the very place - Emanuel! Amen.

Shalom Aleichem!
