The Aeons in Sophian Gnosticism

The concept of the aeons is subtle and complex in Gnosticism, but perhaps we can begin a discussion that might draw out something of the Gnostic wisdom found in teachings on the aeons...

The term “aeon” or “age” points first and foremost to a cycle, period or duration of time; to the extent that time and space are inseparable, the term aeon may also indicate a realm; to the extend that time and space are inseparable from consciousness, the term aeon may also indicate a formation of consciousness or state of consciousness; and to the extent that consciousness-force is a radiant display of being, the term aeon may indicate a being or entity as well – all of these ideas exist in the word aeon as used in Gnosticism. Quite naturally, there are aeons within aeons, greater aeons and lesser aeons, the “Aeon of Light” or “Perfect Aeon” representing eternity and the “Great Cosmic Aeon” representing the great cosmic cycle of existence, all space-time-consciousness, or what we may call “forever.” Within the Great Cosmic Aeon, of course, are countless millions of aeons, greater and lesser, as space-time-consciousness unfolds, flowing out of the eternal realm, the Pleroma of Light. Thus, the Entirety, the Great Matrix of Creation, is composed of the aeons – the Great Cosmic Aeon representing the Entirety, the All.

The aeons are cyclic, and they flow out of one another and into one another, interpenetrating one another, completely interconnected and interdependent with one another: space-time-consciousness is like a great circle, flowing out of the Infinite and Eternal, and flowing into the Infinite and Eternal, the Divine Being of the Becoming. The Great Cosmic Aeon may be beyond our mortal reckoning, enduring “forever,” but it has a beginning and end – the eternal realm. With the exception of the Perfect Aeon, which is the eternal realm, so it is with all that is called “aeon,” they have a beginning, middle and end. The aeons are also called “in-betweens” for they occur in between “that” which proceeds them and “that” which follows after them: the procession of the aeons is infinite, without-end.

The Great Cosmic Aeon is the “Great Cosmic Cycle,” which is to say it is the duration the cosmos or universe exists; within it are the aeons of the galaxies, within which are the aeons of the solar systems – all of which exist on various levels, from the spiritual dimensions to the material dimension; and within these are countless aeons, greater and lesser aeons, influencing the realms, worlds and universes that appear in this Great Matrix, the Entirety. In every aeon there is a ruler – a being-force that holds dominion, of which the aeon is an expression, as though a body to a soul or spirit; and countless beings exists within the aeon, all under the influence or dominion of the presiding ruler-aeon.

In that the aeons exist on various levels, from the spiritual dimensions to the material dimension, there are, in effect, upper aeons and lower aeons. In essence, aeons are akin to Thoughts in the Divine Mind, various aspects and expressions of the Divine Plan of creation. At the level of the spiritual dimensions the aeons are luminous and divine, reflecting the Divine Will of El Elyon as expressed in the Pleroma of Light or Supernal Dimensions – these are called are the “upper aeons,” greater and lesser. However, as they occur at the level of the causal, higher vital, mental, astral and material dimensions the Divine Light of the aeons becomes restricted and, in effect, the Divine Thoughts which constitutes the aeons become obscured and distorted, and the image of the aeons in the Lower Sphere is different from their image in the Higher Sphere – these are called the “lower aeons.” It is the difference between the ideal of the potential and the actual as the Divine Light of the Pleroma enters into the Entirety to be actualized and realized; until the noble ideal of the Divine is realized, the actual manifestation is fraught with shades and shadows, hence is imperfect and incomplete.

The distinction between the upper and lower aeons is the product of cosmic ignorance – the illusion of separation. The demiurgos is the personification of cosmic ignorance. Thus, while the upper aeons are under the dominion of the Divine, the lower aeons are under the dominion of the demiurgos. This is true of all aeons – they have a manifestation that accords with the Divine and a manifestation that is of the demiurge, the latter typically being a dim reflection of the former.

To gain some insight into this one merely needs to consider the influences of aeons in human consciousness – the various noble and divine ideals that occur in human consciousness versus their actualization in the world. If we consider the luminous ideals of “democracy” or “socialism” and see what has become of them, then we can gain a sense of the distinction between the upper and lower aeons; for such ideals are an expression of aeons, and in their origin they are luminous and divine, but in their actual manifestation within the material world they are far from the ideal upon which they are founded, and certainly less luminous and less divine than in their conception. The ignorance takes hold of the noble and divine ideal and it becomes distorted by the “Self-willed Triple Power” (demiurge); hence, self-grasping, greed-lust, fear-hatred (the unenlightened condition). Thus, as divine and angelic beings labor for the fruition of the Divine Will of the “upper aeons,” titanic and dark forces enter in to usurp the energy-intelligence of the aeons to their own ends; thus, the influence of archons and demons of the demiurgos come into play, generating the “lower aeons” which are admixed.

This, of course, is all a natural part of the process of Creative Evolution – an involution for the sake of evolution, as Divine Being is actualized and realized in the Sphere of Becoming, the Entirety. Likewise, it gives us insight into the necessity of the Divine Incarnation (the Gnostic Revealer), and the Light-bearers who enter into the realms, worlds and universes of the Entirety. In essence, they serve to clarify the aeons and to uplift the consciousness of sentient beings from the lower aeons to the upper aeons, ultimately drawing souls into the awareness of the Perfect Aeon, so that the Will of the True Light might be made manifest through the aeons.

Within any of the realms, worlds and universes of sentient existence (the Entirety) there are many and diverse aeons that enter and influence the development of life, and within any given world system there is a progression of great aeons and the various lesser aeons of which they are composed, which represent cycles in the development and evolution of life in that world. Along with these great aeons are what are called “Aeons of the Light Transmission” initiated by the Gnostic Revealers or Light-bearers who enter into the realms, worlds and universes of the Entirety for the sake of the enlightenment and liberation of sentient beings. Essentially, these are emanations of the Aeon of Light or Perfect Aeon within the Entirety – within the upper and lower aeons.

In the Sophian Tradition the Aeons of the Light Transmission are associated with the Sacred Circle and the six Archangels which correspond to it: Metatron-Sandalfon, Uriel, Gabriel, Michael and Raphael. Metatron-Sandalfon (or the Great Angel Hua) represents the Aeon of Light that is being actualized and realized, and Uriel, Gabriel, Michael and Raphael represent the four Great Aeons of the Light Transmission, cycles or stages that occur in the Christ revelation when viewed from the temporal dimension.

Metatron represents the Aeon of Light, and Sandalfon represents what is actualized and realized of the Aeon of Light in the world at any given point in space-time; the Archangels, which correspond to the four directions of the Sacred Circle and the elemental powers, are the fourfold influx of Divine Light into human consciousness, or four cycles through which the Divine Light is actualized and realized.

The Aeon of Uriel is the first cycle of Light Transmission, the beginning of the Divine Revelation in human consciousness – the awareness of the Divine Light arises in consciousness, and streams of Light Transmission are manifest. As the Aeon of Uriel unfolds, the awareness of the Sacred Unity dawns, and the idea of the One Source of All, God Most High, enters human consciousness – the Holy One within and beyond the Many. In this cycle salvation or enlightenment is largely conceived in terms of the collective, the people or tribe; likewise, instead of thinking of her or himself in terms of “I” as an individual, a person thinks of her or himself in terms of “we,” the people or tribe. Generally speaking, the religions engendered are somewhat “primitive” and focus on judgment and law, and there is a radical taint of the demiurge in them, as the Divine is conceived as being separate and apart, outside of the prophet or sage, and beyond the people. (Most basic forms of world wisdom traditions and religions arise during this period and create the foundation for virtually all wisdom traditions or religions that will appear – all that follows being an evolution and refinement of these basic forms.)

The Aeon of Gabriel naturally flows out of the Aeon of Uriel, and represents the refinement and evolution of previous revelations – there is an individuation process in which individuals no longer think of her or himself in terms of “we,” but rather in terms of “I,” and salvation or enlightenment becomes an individual or “personal” experience, independent from the peoples or tribe of which they may be a member. Specifically, the awareness dawns of the possibility for individuals to experience conscious unification with Divine Being or a state of enlightenment, and this potential becomes activated within human consciousness; while something of this occurs in the Aeon of Uriel, in terms of a select few, all of humanity is understood to have this potential as the Aeon of Gabriel unfolds and comes to its fruition. In the Aeon of Uriel myths are told of the Redeemer or Enlightened One among gods and goddesses, and prophecies are spoken of the Redeemer or Enlightened One that is coming to humanity – something of the Divine Incarnation is transpiring, as Light-bearers enter into the human life-wave to teach and initiate; yet, it is not until the dawn of the Aeon of Gabriel that the Divine Incarnation is recognized and received, and the Gnostic and Light Transmission is manifest in full.

In the Aeon of Uriel, though Light-bearers (avatars, bodhisattvas and buddhas) may come among the peoples to teach and initiate them, for the most part the peoples cannot receive the Gnostic and Light Transmission in full, but like conceptions of the Divine prevalent in the Aeon of Uriel, the Light-bearers are received god-like beings, as though distinct and separate from human beings; in the Aeon of Gabriel, however, Light-bearers come to be understood as being among the people – as representative of the potential of union with the Divine or enlightenment within humanity. This, in effect, activates Fiery Intelligence in human consciousness and sets in motion an influx of the Divine Light within human consciousness, the Spiritual and Supernal Light: it activates our potential for Conscious Evolution. Thus, more and more, individuals from among the peoples experience Divine Illumination, and the noble ideal of the enlightenment and liberation of individual soul-streams takes root; there is a progressive acceleration in the development and evolution of human consciousness, as various cycles of the influx of Divine Light transpire in the human life-wave.

At the shift between the Aeon of Gabriel and the Aeon of Michael there is an influx of Great Light, the Supernal Light, which invokes the arising of an equal and opposite Darkness, the Great Shadow (Great Beast or Dragon); a dissemination of esoteric knowledge openly occurs, as well as radical advancements in knowledge and understanding within all aspects of human study and endeavors, and there is access to greater and greater power on material, psychic and spiritual levels. It is the “Age of the Apocalypse,” when the shades and shadows that have trailed along with the human development and evolution must be reintegrated into the Light – the Great Shadow of the Human One faced, and a harmonious integration of “I-consciousness” and “we-consciousness” manifest. In essence, a new and higher consciousness (Christ Consciousness) begins to dawn in the larger collective of the human life-wave, but the influx of Light is followed by a fall into Darkness and Chaos, and a Great Conflict between the Light and the Darkness ensues before the new and higher consciousness dawns in full. (This spiritual movement is captured perfectly in the twelfth chapter of the Book of Revelation.)

Essentially, these aeons are cycles of the development and evolution of human consciousness from the level of the bestial and vital consciousness to the level of mental consciousness, progressing towards the Supramental or Supernal Consciousness. The Aeon of Michael represents something akin to the labor pain experienced by the Mother and Child as new humanity is born – a Supernal and Divine Humanity, as prefigured in the Gnostic Revealers, the Enlightened Ones. Throughout this process individuals are emerging into the Supernal or Supramental Consciousness (Christ Consciousness); at fist only a select few, here and there, who are the initial Light-bearers, but then, with the advent of the Gnostic Revealers, more and more individuals experience the dawn of Supernal or Supramental Consciousness, until the influx of the Supernal Light occurs in the larger collective of humanity. As the new and higher consciousness actually begins to become established in a larger segment of the collective humanity, the Aeon of Michael gives way to the Aeon of Raphael – in which the “Reception of the Holy Bride” is complete and the realization of the Christos, the True Light, is fulfilled in humanity.

Of the fruition of the Aeon of Raphael it is said, “Sandalfon is taken up into Metatron, and the image of the Great Angel Hua shines forth, the Pleroma of Light being realized and actualize in humanity – hence, the Great Resurrection and Ascension, or Great Transformation. Thus, the Circle of Creative Evolution is complete, coming full cycle through the “fall and redemption,” involution and evolution.

This procession of the Aeons of Light Transmission, of course, is a perception from the perspective of the temporal dimension, or space-time consciousness, and is by no means as linear a process as it sounds; in fact, these “four” aeons are really one Divine Aeon, one Great Movement of Light Transmission – the appearance of the Perfect Aeon of Light as it is actualized and realized within our world. Yet, in our experience within the context of the temporal dimension, these aeons are very distinct, and we can clearly see their influence in the world as they unfold.

Much more may be said regarding the various aeons that influence our world, as well as of these four Aeons of the Light Transmission, but this is enough for the beginning of a discussion of the principle of the aeons in Sophian Gnosticism, and specifically, perhaps a discussion of the four Aeons of Light Transmission as they occur in Sophian Teachings.

May we realize the Perfect Aeon of Light in the midst of the aeons; may we recognize our perfection in Christ and embody it – Amen.

Shalom Tau Malachi!

I notice that this process of evolution, from Uriel to Gabriel to Michael to Raphael, follows the path of dissolution and death as revealed in the chapter on Yesod in Gnosis of the Cosmic Christ, earth dissolves into water, water into fire and fire into air, air then into spirit-space. I imagine that one teaching behind this is that we ultimately are to evolve beyond the body and this level of physical reality. Another might be a teaching about our individual death, that it is an evolutionary process, ultimately.

It is interesting to consider this in light of Adam who had taken the fruit of the tree of knowledge of Good and Evil. It is said he ate of this tree and then invoked his death, and death into the world. It is also said that he ate of this and came into materiality. It is also said that he ate of this and received the transmission and initiation of Pistis Sophia. Since this process of evolution follows this path of death, it seems as if Adam abided in the Perfect Aeon originally, but invoked something, which appears to be cyclical in nature, perhaps invoked these Cosmic and other Aeons? But I sense something more here... as though this process of evolution, this descent of light and the spark of the period of Uriel began with this event... but what does this mean? I hope this isn't too far afield of this contemplation... :oops: .

The Great Ascension, The End of Days

Greetings Brother Philip!

Your insight into the parallel between the dissolution of the elements that occurs in the process of dying and the procession of the Great Aeons of Light Transmission is right on the mark, my friend; though, rather than “death” the procession of the aeons points to the Great Resurrection and Ascension – divine rapture.

We enter into the Entirety and the material dimension as into a womb, actualizing the divine potential of the Living Father through the Divine Mother – conceived and growing in her until our gestation is complete and we are born to the Pleroma of Light, reborn of the Mother Spirit into union with God and Godhead. According to Genesis, the form of Adam (the Human One) is fashioned by Elohim (Imma-Mother) and the soul and spirit of Adam is imbued into this form by Yahweh Elohim – the Mother-Father; the form of the Human One is generated by the Entirety, based upon the archetypal pattern of the Human of Light in the Pleroma, and the Soul of Light is the emanation of the Pleroma of Light. It is like the seed of the Father in the womb of the Mother, the body and all of creation being the Matrix of Coming Into Being.

We enter into material incarnation in order to transcend the need for physical or material incarnation – it is a process of the development of consciousness beyond the body, and the development of a continuity of self-awareness throughout all states of consciousness. When we are able to generate the Body of Light, the Body of the Resurrection, and develop consciousness beyond the physical body, and we are able to maintain the presence of awareness when we depart the body, then there is no death but we go forth to eternal life – hence, the Great Ascension.

This, in essence, expresses the attainment of Christ Consciousness – it is the development of consciousness beyond the body, which at the same time infuses the body with consciousness (Supernal Consciousness). The full influx of consciousness into the body brings about the fruition of consciousness beyond the body. If we look into the progression of the Great Aeons of the Light Transmission we see an increasing influx of Divine Light (greater consciousness) into the body-world, which leads to the divine rapture of consciousness beyond the body-world. The Aeons of Light Transmission labor towards this, as do all of the upper aeons which have their root in the Kingdom of Heaven, the “eighth heaven.”

In the kingdom of heaven, also called the Treasury of Light, there are thirteen Great Aeons and there are 365 aeons within them, and within the 365 aeons are countless aeons. The Thirteenth Aeon is in the midst of the twelve aeons and the Human One of Light and Pistis Sophia are the Divine Ruler – the Christos, and it is the Gate of the Light Realm, the Pleroma of Light, the eighth heaven being the glory of the Light Realm. The twelve Great Aeons surrounding the Thirteenth Aeon correspond with the archetypes of the Human One of Light, and the Twelve Powers of the Twelve Saviors are the Divine Rulers of the Great Aeons, which are as Archangels of the Pleroma – Rays of the Light of the Human One. The four Aeons of the Light Transmission emanate from this Matrix of Light Aeons, and they contain the Divine Power of the Twelve Great Aeons, the twelve being in the dominion of the four, which are emanations of the Thirteenth Aeon.

This same pattern is reflected in the lower aeons, but in the place of the Thirteenth Aeon is Heimarmene, the Sphere of Fate, which if the abode of the demiurge, Yaldabaot. The lower aeons are as dim lights compared to the upper aeons, and represent partial or imperfect manifestations of the radiant aeons above – they are filled with shades and shadows, and are akin to a “work in progress.” However, to the extent that the intention of the Divine Aeons above becomes fulfilled through the lower aeons, the lower aeons are reintegrated into the upper aeons, living spirits and souls passing up in the Great Resurrection and Ascension. This is the purpose for the Divine Incarnation of the Gnostic Revealer and the emanation of the four Great Aeons of Light Transmission – the tikkune (healing or rectification) of the lower aeons, the fulfillment of the Divine Plan in the Matrix of Creation.

The image and likeness of Yahweh Elohim is a Body of Light – Supernal Light, and this is the form of Adam Ha-Rishon, the First Human Being, who is the image and likeness of the Human One of Light, Divine Being (the Christos). From this pattern the generation of the Human One manifest below, under the dominion of the demiurgos and archons of the lower aeons, and under the dominion of the demiurge the Human One becomes divided – Adam and Eve, and through dualism in consciousness souls become bound up in the gilgulim and Entirety, unaware of their True Being in the Pleroma of Light (Light-continuum). Thus, the Body of Supernal Light becomes a body of spiritual light, and the body of spiritual light becomes a body of astral light, and the light becomes bound up in matter as souls involve in the material dimension – consciousness manifesting in dualism. This is completely interconnected and interdependent with the generation of Heimarmene and the lower aeons of the Great Matrix – the realms, worlds and universes of sentient existence, for the Great Matrix is as the Body of the Human One through which the Soul and Spirit of the Human One is actualized and realize: hence, the Light of Christ and the Holy Spirit.

The elements have their root in the Clear Light, the Supernal Light, and the pure primordial elements are the Supernal Light; but as subtle dualism enters into consciousness they become manifest as spiritual light, and then as astral light, and in gross impurity of dualism they become light crystallized as matter, which is the realm of darkness and chaos – death. Quite naturally, the Path of the Great Ascension follows the dissolution of the elements into the innate purity of their true nature, the Clear Light, Supernal Light.

Everything in the temporal dimension shall eventually pass away, the heavens and the earth, for nothing in the Entirety is eternal – only the Kingdom of Heaven, the Pleroma of Light, beyond the Entirety is eternal. Just as the purpose of the womb if the birth of the child, so is the purpose of the Entirety the enlightenment and liberation of the soul: Self-realization in Christ (Christ Consciousness). Should we be surprised that the fruition of Conscious Evolution is transcendence of physicality and the material dimension?

Indeed, that which appears as “death” is our passage into the eternal realm, the Realm of Light, if we have realized consciousness beyond the body and do not fall into unconscious oblivion during our soul’s transition out of the body. However, if we fall unconsciousness in death – falling into forgetfulness, and we do not remember our Soul of Light (Christ in us) as inseparable from the Divine Light that appears in the afterlife experience, if we fall again into dualism, then we will not enter into repose in the Realm of Light, but will continue in our bondage to the gilgulim and dominion of the demiurge, the gravity of ignorance.

Many are inclined to talk about the Judgment, the Apocalypse, and the fate of the world, fearing the eventual End-Of-Days; but they do not look and see that the End-Of-Days is inevitable in their own lifetime, for everyone who is born into this world eventually dies, and for that person it is the End-Of-Days. The question is not if the End-Of-Days will come, but rather when it will come, for such is the natural climax of this life – we depart this body-world some day, eventually. The real question is: Are we prepared for the coming of the Lord, the day we go out of the body and meet the Lord “in the air”? Have we recognized and realized the Light-presence (Christ) and Light-power (Holy Spirit) in us so that we might experience a conscious and rapturous union with the True Light, entering into repose in the Light-continuum?

The progression of the Great Aeons reflects this process of Self-realization in Christ – the Great Resurrection and Ascension.

Around the turn of the previous century the Aeon of St. Michael dawned, and with around the turn of the millennia we began the entrance into the Age of Aquarius; in terms of the world we have entered into the Age of the Apocalypse, the Aeon of Divine Revelation. Far from doomful, it is a time of spiritual hope with great potential, for it is a push towards dawn of Supernal or Supramental Consciousness, and the development of consciousness beyond the body – like the butterfly emerging from the chrysalis, the Risen Christ is the symbol of this hope among Gnostic Christians.

I do not think you have veered from our topic at all, my friend, but rather you have focused it on what is most essential and relevant in the subject we are discussing. Praise to the Mother Spirit who gives insight to her children!

That's a whole new way of seeing them!.As I read Metatrons cube came straight to mind. 13 circles! And the platonics fit too. Is that associated. I wonder , are there upper versions of the four archangels too?. Some kind of kerub? And can they represent the yod he vau he with metatron and sandalfon as shin. The impression sense I got from the description is of pulses , circles rippling outwards. And a sense of movement like a good snake, sections of its body manifesting. How might ratziel fit in. Very interesting , thanks!

Grace and peace to you in Hayyah Yeshua, the Risen Messiah!

First it needs to be understood that there are archangels and angels, which is to say ‘greater angels’ and ‘lesser angels.’ The archangels corresponds with ‘cosmic forces’ of the spiritual dimension and universe - Beriyah - while angels correspond with spiritual forces of the astral dimension and universe - Yetzirah, though there are angels that reach into the spiritual universe. In this you may recall what I shared elsewhere concerning ‘permanent’ and ‘temporary’ angels; hence, archangels and angels, greater and lesser angels.

Among archangels there are also those that reach into the supernal dimension and universe - Atzilut - being supernal angels, and there are supernal orders of angels with them. These, of course, are existences, entities, beings, forces, beyond the comprehension of ordinary mental consciousness being supernal, supramental, and they are only known in the inner dimensions of the soul and its mystical ascents beyond the ‘Throne of Glory’ into the Supernal Abode, Pleroma of Light.

Understand that there are many different grades and kinds of angels within every order of angels that can be named - greater and lesser angels, with countless grades in between the greatest and the least. Thus there are archangelic beings, forces, from all angelic orders, so there are archangels from among orders such as kerubim, seraphim, and so on, and those orders are not ‘above’ archangels, or the great angels ruling them.

The six archangels associated with the directions of the sacred circle at times are spoken of as connected with kerubim, and at other times seraphim, and in very esoteric teachings they are call sarim - supernal princes; hence, their root being supernal. According to the Holy Kabbalah the kerubim are guardians of the exterior Shekinah, and worship in the exterior Shekinah, and seraphim are guardians of the interior Shekinah, and worship in the interior Shekinah; the array of the six archangels - great angel of the Supernal Shekinah, inseparable from the Holy Shekinah.

The six archangels are, indeed, emanations of the holy letters of the Great Name: Yod - Michael; He - Gabriel; Vau - Raphael; He - Oriel; and the Shin of the Blessed Name corresponds with Metatron-Sandalphon. In that these archangels are direct emanations of the Presence and Power of Yahweh, Yeshua, so their root is supernal - supernal princes (sarim).

Brilliant!. It's good to learn more about the angels and their relationships. Applying the circle to aeons. Are these six, to be found traced back in the human one of light ( i hope my terminology is accurate) in the 13 th aeon. They would emerge from zer anpin ?.and Metatron- sandalafon. From kether or malkut?.

In pistis sophia, there is the seeding of wombs, with the 12 saviours powers. Would a series of wedding feasts, arranged to celebrate these 12 have a tikkune mediated by the womb experience of the wedding sacrament. Bringing their image to our realm. I'd love to start meditating on these 12, what is the best list of apostles to use please. Has mary magdelane, the power of the 13 th Aeon too. How much can we glean from scripture the nature and works of these 12 saviours?. Are there many clues to how we should incorporate their mission into our lives, I see 12 gates of new Jerusalem , these are the various saviour s in the world to come?. Have these saviour s , shekinah counterparts too. Where could I learn about them.

Greetings and blessings in the Holy Light of the Messiah!

In your previous writing you inquired about Ratziel and I did not address your question. If you recall I’ve shared with you that ofanim-wheels correspond with the aeons, ages, and so on, and as we know, Ratziel is the archangel of Hokmah-Wisdom and the ofaniim are the corresponding order of angels; hence, Ratziel presides over the ofanim, aeons, ages, and such, having deep knowledge of associated secret mysteries of these in creation and the revelations of God in creation.

Concerning this there is a teaching of Habad, Hokmah-Binah-Da’at, you might consider. According to it Da’at corresponds with the knowledge of *what* is to be done as God wills, and Binah corresponds with the knowledge of *how* it is to be done, and Hokmah corresponds with the knowledge of *when* it is to be done, right timing, ‘due season,’ being associated with Hokmah and so with Ratziel and the ofanim.

Now, where the four archangels are drawn from, or the Sefirot they correspond with, depends upon the teaching being given, and the nature of the secret mysteries being revealed. As an example, at the level of Atzilut there will be different correspondences given than at the level of Beriyah, and even from one teaching at the level of Beriyah to another they may be different, drawing out deep hidden knowledge of Divine Attributes and angels. Understanding this here we may cite one way of correspondence at the level of Atzilut (Universe of the Sefirot), one corresponding with the ‘revealed invocation of sacred circle’ in our lineage: Michael-South-Hesed; Gabriel-North-Gevurah; Rafael-East-Tiferet; Oriel-West-Yesod. This correspondence is also hinted at, implied, in the cosmology of Pistis Sophia in certain passages.

As for Metatron sand Sandalfon, yes they correspond with Keter and Malkut, respectively; but then, all in a great mystery, Sandalfon is among the many emanations of Archangel Metatron, and specifically is among the feminine emanations - hence the deep association with Malkut-Shekinah.

Are these most holy six among angels associated with the Messiah - Human One of Light? Yes indeed! Just consider two of them sent to assist in the ascension of Pistis Sophia, Michael and Gabriel, who emanate from the Pleroma of Light, coming from the Human One of Light, their origin in the Supernal Light.

As for the twelve powers of the twelve saviors, these are the ‘tribes’ of Spiritual Israel - twelve zodiacal types among humankind. If and when we have the realized and embodied the fullness of the Messiah, the Spiritual Sun of God in us, fullness of the Holy Shekinah, Holy Spirit, so then all of these spiritual, supernal, powers too; but as for what we are to manifest in this world, in this life, it is the power of a single savior according to our birth, our destiny, in God, the True Light. Therefore you may understand that there is something of one of the powers of one of these saviors in you corresponding with your birth sign - that ‘tribe’ of Spiritual Israel. In a wedding feast returning to be One, and entering in Oneness, uniting who and what you are in yourself with who and what you in God, and in this being unified with the Spiritual Sun, Human One of Light, in God Most High, this would be the aim in a wedding feast, each according to that path and gate given to them by God at their birth, which will remain throughout life until death, and the Great Resurrection and Ascension.

There is, of course, something more disclosed in the story of the placing of souls along with the powers of ‘saviors’ into wombs of mothers, as with the soul of Elijah, teaching that souls that will fully receive and integrate Messiah - the Light Transmission - and impart it in a given lifetime, incarnation, are destined to do so before they are born, they are ‘sent’ or ‘come’ specifically for this spiritual and supernal realization, this embodiment of the fullness of the Light-presence and Light-power, this enlightenment and liberation.

Concerning Pistis Sophia, remember that in the lineage and tradition that wrote this deep mystical text she represents the Holy Shekinah, and more so the ‘Soul of the World’ - all souls. Also understand that very likely this was a text of guidance of souls in the afterlife, or at least part of it was, likely chanted when souls were dying or dead; but then likely it was also a source of contemplation and teaching of secret mysteries with a rich oral tradition associated with it.

Concerning the Magdalene, if you look at what is recorded in this gnostic gospel she holds complete knowledge of the secret mysteries as does the Risen Messiah, responding with insights and illuminations, and drawing our further revelations, many times more than any other disciple, and in fact many times more than all of them together. This speaks deeply to our vision, faith, in Lady Mirya, that just as Adonai Yeshua embodied the Messiah - fullness of the Holy Light and Spirit, so also did she, and she was his complete spiritual consort, partner, co-preacher of the Gospel of Truth and co-redeemer with him. This point of faith is where the outer name of our lineage and tradition is derived from - “Sophian,” indicating our view of coequality between the Divine and Sacred Masculine and Feminine in the One God, the True Light.

Thus to us, truly, the Magdalene is the Apostle of Apostles, ‘Mother of Apostles,’ and she is inseparable from the Messiah - the Anointing.

Let us pray that on the longest night of this solar year, this very night, the Holy and Absolute Light might shine with immeasurable brilliance in the midst of the great darkness, the darkness never overcoming it! Amen.

Thanks, that greatly helps. One point has triggered thinking. Our destiny in god, keyed by the body's nativity date. What happens when we are born again?, via the spirit . Is this time stamped too. Could feature more than once within a life of striving for god. Are only the ruach and upwards reborn. Pegged to the unchanging nefesh and guph. Could different saviours come in with a rebirth. Or is there some mystery sustaining our heavenly tribal identity throughout these events?.

Is there a version of afterlife in play in these initatory deaths and rebirth s where the essence is gathered and transmitted to the new bodies of life. Or is our spiritual destiny linked to chockhmah- zodiac in the physical and so constant and our lifelong lighthouse lamp shining always.

These questions provoke a delving into deep mysteries of the soul and incarnation, likely beyond what can be shared here, but we can make a beginning here and share something of an overview.

First let us remember that soul roots are drawn from the Sefirot, Attributes of God - the Names of God, whether from a single Sefirah and its interiors, or a combination of Sefirot; this determines the soul’s unique essence, divine spark - yechidah. The hayyah and neshamah emanate and come into being from this, they are the manifestation of our essence in the Light of the Infinite One. This soul root will naturally have a resonance with one of this ‘tribes’ or ‘archetypes’ of the Human One, and therefore with one of the ‘saviors’ and their supernal and spiritual power. In an incarnation that a soul is destined to full supernal realization, full embodiment of the heavenly or supernal soul, joined with the fullness of the Holy Shekinah, Holy Spirit, there will be an alignment of the incarnation, and so their birth, with these inner aspects of their soul, and therefore they will be born in that zodiacal sign in resonance with their soul’s root, with an array of celestial influences auspicious for the fulfillment of their souls purpose or mission.

Understand, once a soul is set upon the Path of Return there may be a journey of ten thousand lives, one thousand lives, or three to four lives. As souls transmigrate they are not always born in the zodiacal sign resonate with their soul root, but they transit through the signs from one life to another, but in due season, when the time of full enlightenment and liberation comes, there is an alignment of soul root and its resonate sign.

Also, understand that having been set upon the Path of Return, in incarnations of significant progress there is often such an alignment, likewise understand that there are many grades of spiritual and supernal realization that may precede full supernal realization - the reaching of the station of Messiah. Quite naturally, once set upon the Path of Return, from one incarnation to another, again and again we receive our anointing and are reborn of the Spirit.

Now when we are reborn from ‘above,’ from heaven, as we receive the Holy Light and Spirit there is an influx of our neshamah, our heavenly or supernal soul, who and what we are in God, the True Light, and to the extent that we surrender to Divine Grace, and cooperate and co-labor with the Spirit of God to integrate the Holy Light into all aspects of ourselves, our person and life, our ruach-spirit and nefesh-vital soul are purified and consecrated - transformed into a likeness of our neshamah. In that our birth chart reflects something of the array of our ruach and nefesh in an incarnation, as our ruach and nefesh are transformed, so then all of those celestial influences woven into them are uplifted and transformed - in a manner of speaking our birth chart is transformed, though not negated. It is what it is throughout our life, just as we are who and what we are in ourselves until our death, though in our spiritual rebirth we are joined with who and what we are in God.

If, however, we embody the fullness of our neshamah, and the Messiah and Holy Spirit, in effect we can transcend the stars of our birth; but understand ‘those stars’ will not be replaced by ‘other stars,’ for such a holy soul is no longer bound by the stars and their influences as in the unenlightened condition, but in fact holds the knowledge and power of God to shift their ‘movements’ and ‘influences.’ In this regard we may consider the great wonderworking power we hear of with prophets, apostles - great messengers of God, God’s presence and power being with them. Nevertheless, though having a special anointing in God, from God, they remained who and what they were in themselves joined with who and what they were in God, and their original birth remained what it was, all as God ordained, all as God willed.

Remember, in the stars of our birth are all of manner of various potentials, possibilities, and it’s all a question of how we draw upon them and manifest them. In the ignorance it is one thing, in the awakening another - unconscious or conscious. In the ignorance, the unenlightened condition, in self-grasping, desire and fear, souls are largely unconsciously compelled by various spiritual and celestial and environmental influences, but as souls awaken, as souls are reborn from above, from heaven and God, more and more they may consciously respond and direct all of the various spiritual forces, influences, including the celestial and elemental, and so on. Certainly so!

This is well reflected in mystical spiritualities also being ‘magical’ - the active power of the Spirit of God being present in them, present with mystics and gnostics of the various wisdom traditions.

In that the heaven of heavens is beyond the celestial spheres astral and spiritual, so to be reborn from that true heaven is to be reborn from beyond the celestial spheres. Hallelu Yah! Praise the Lord!

As perhaps you might surmise, the ‘twelve saviors’ and their ‘twelve powers’ are from the Pleroma of Light, Supernal Abode, beyond the celestial spheres - these correspond with what those forces are as they are in God Most High, in their root in the Supernal One.

Remember, everything that appears has a ‘root’ in the Supernal One, a unique essence from the Light of the Infinite.

These are a few thoughts I can share today, I pray they might be of some help to you.
