Beautiful insight dear brother, delving into another layer of mystery concerning this “secret commandment.” How wonderful!
First there is a need for clarification. As we know, when human beings cleave to their source, and unify with their source, returning to God, the flow of influxes of the Upper, or Inner, Sefirot flow through Yesod of Atzilut into Malkut of Atzilut, and Malkut, the Holy Shekinah, is manifestation in her full glory and power. The earth, and all worlds of creation, are blessed in this way, and these blessings flow into Beriyah, Yetzirah and Asiyah, corresponding with a strengthening and increase of archangelic and angelic powers, as well as the celestial intelligences and luminous elemental forces, and all manner of luminous spirits, or “spirits of righteousness.” Conversely, when human beings do not purify and sanctify themselves, and do not cleave and unify with their source, or do not return to God, instead of the influxes flowing into Malkut of Atzilut, they are “diverted,” as it were, and they flow into klippah of Malkut, feeding the dominion of the klippot, the Other Side. Thus, instead of strengthening and increasing divine beings-forces in Beriyah, Yetzirah and Asiyah, they strengthen and increase the dominion of the demiurge and archons, and the demonic powers, along with the malevolent celestial spirits, and all manner of deceiving unclean and evil spirits. God forbid! Thus, either way, influxes, blessings, flow from Malkut of Atzilut into the Holy Sefirot as they manifest in Beriyah, Yetzirah and Asiyah; but it is a question of what this flow of spiritual power generates and feeds, whether good or evil, or admixture. This, in turn, determines the state of affairs and what transpires within our world, and all worlds of creation, as well as what transpires in the heavens and various realms associated with these countless world; the balance of spiritual forces, and the play of fate and fortune, and destiny, is determined in this way, by the thoughts, words and actions of “human beings” who are co-creators with God, for good or evil, for better or for worse. Thus, our thoughts, words and actions, and how we live, whether in a godly, enlightened way, or ungodly, unenlightened way, matters a great deal; much more than most individuals realize.
If we unify ourselves with our source, Yahweh Elohim, Shaddai, so the Tree of Life and Tree of Knowledge is unified in our experience; this corresponds with the experience of Supernal or Messianic Consciousness in which a soul is aware of Atzilut, the World of the Sefirot, and Yahweh, within and behind the reality of Beriyah, Yetzirah and Asiyah, or all that appears. Thus, in Supernal Realization there is awareness of One God, and One Holy Tree; hence, the inseparability of Yichud and Perud, or the Entirety and Pleroma.
There is an open secret that we may share here. In some way, all in a mystery, when Malkut and Yesod (or Tiferet) are not united through contemplation, prayer and meditation, and the worship of God, or souls returning to God, instead of flowing into and through Malkut, the influxes flow through the klippah of Malkut, and are impure, tainted and corrupted with darkness or evil; when this happens, Da’at of Beriyah flowing out of Yesod of Atzilut becomes sorely admixed, hence the generation of archonic and demonic forces, along with divine forces – the great conflict of forces arises in this way. As we know, Hokmah and Binah, and Da’at, in Atzilut, Beriyah, Yetzirah and Asiyah correspond with mochin, “intelligences” or “mentalities,” and therefore this generation of forces of impurity and evil correspond with impure and evil intelligences or mentalities, which are not aligned and in harmony with Ratzon Elyon (the Will of the Most High) and the Habad of Atzilut; instead, these are intelligences or mentalities of self-will, and self-grasping, desire and fear – the “Self-willed Triple Power” (Demiurge). This, of course, affects the arising of the Sefirot of Construction in Beriyah, Yetzirah and Asiyah; on account of this, they arise in impurity, more or less.
Put in a simple way, it is impure mentalities that distort, corrupt and obstruct the flow of ruhaniyot and shefa, and that distances souls from God, or that prevents souls from returning to God, preventing their realization and ascension, or enlightenment and liberation; hence, the vision of ignorance, or karmic vision, in the illusion of separation, or delusion of lack.
This explains teachings in Gnostic gospels concerning the gross and subtle confusion of good and evil in our world and throughout the entirety (Perud), good being called “evil” and evil being called “good.” You see, this is all on account of impure mentalities, gross and subtle, which arise in the ignorance, the illusion of separation, and the play of self-will and self-grasping, and desire and fear in self-grasping. On account of this souls are not able to experience Pure Vision, and so do not know and understand the Light Continuum, or the “Kingdom of God and its righteousness,” in order to serve it and reintegrate with it, but instead, often, while thinking they are doing “good” and “serving God” they oppose the Will of God (or their True Will), severing a lesser will, their own self-will in ignorance. These impure mentalities and influences of deceiving unclean and evil spirits can be so powerful that even if a tzaddik or maggid, a “saint or angel,” were to point out the error, very often a soul would not believe them, or would not see it that way, or, is receiving the instruction and guidance of a tzaddik or maggid would swiftly forget and fall, once again, into the same impure mentality. Liberation from these mentalities requires the power of the Spirit of God – Light Transmission, and it requires deep prayer and meditation, and contemplation; a continuum of prayer without ceasing with great zeal, or passionate faith and devotion.
To receive guidance out of this labyrinth of impure mentalities requires divine assistance, the help of a Savior, and guidance from the Spirit of God, tzaddikim and maggidim; but receiving this guidance is dependent upon strong faith and devotion, otherwise in unbelief, lacking faith, we will not listen and hear, and will follow the Spirit of the Lord in complete surrender, or submission.
We have spoken of this secret commandment in the context of the macrocosm, but we may also understand it in the context of the microcosm, just as you have pointed out dear brother, certainly so! As much as the Holy Sefirot encircle, or surround us, so also they are within us; the interior stars (or “chakras”) are manifestations of the Holy Sefirot within us, within our subtle body, and the various aspects of our soul are manifestations of the Holy Sefirot within us. The mother bird and the nest, which corresponds with Habad – or the Supernals, is the Transcendent Star, or “eighth star,” above the head, and the eggs or fledglings are the seven interior stars from crown to root, corresponding with the Sefirot of Construction from Hesed to Malkut.
Listen and hear, and understand! The very same play in the flow of ruhaniyot and shefa through the Holy Sefirot in the macrocosm happens in the microcosm, or human beings, and therefore all that we have said concerning the flow of influxes and how those influxes manifest, whether divine, archonic or demonic transpires within us. This is how through contemplation, prayer and meditation, and the worship of God – a return to God, we are able to unify Malkut with the Upper Sefirot, and so bring down the blessings, or influxes, of the World of this Sefirot into This World; for as this happens within the microcosm, in us, in our body of light and soul, so a corresponding manifestation is brought about in the World of the Sefirot, something of Atzilut being actualized, realized and embodied in us. As perhaps you might imagine, the greater the influx of the Holy Light from above, the greater the generation of these interior stars in us, and the greater the awakening and uplifting of the serpent power in us, the greater our knowledge and power to bring about the unification, tikkune, of the World of the Sefirot, and the greater our power to strengthen and increase the influence of the Divine Powers in This World, or to receive the Supernal Influx in This World. We see this with great tzaddikim, and the Light Presence we encounter in them, and their capacity of Light Transmission, and the great Light-power they are able to generate through their self-realization in the Messiah; hence, we witness it in their knowledge and power, and the manifestation of the Spirit of the Messiah with, in and through them, and as them, in self-generation.
In order to receive the full Supernal Influx, and in order to uplift the full Force of the Serpent Power, however, requires the opening of the interior star, or rather, their full generation; hence, the “eggs” must “hatch,” and the “fledglings” must be “nourished” to their maturation.
If there can be impure, klippotic manifestations of the Sefirot at the level of Beriyah, Yetzirah and Asiyah, as you might surmise, there can also be impure, klippotic manifestations of the interior stars, light from above, and serpent power; in other words, there can be admixed and evil manifestations of the serpent power, and in place of the True Light, very often souls cleave to false, impure lights. When this happens, of course, it is because of an impure or corrupted mentality; a klippah or karmic encrustation of the Transcendent Star, which then manifests as a klippot generation of the interior stars.
Here it must be said, that in truth the Transcendent Star, and the crown star, are the Virgin Mother, which is to say there is no impurity in them; there is no taint, trace, stain, mark or corruption in them whatsoever! Through unclean and evil mentalities, however, the influxes of the Transcendent Star and crown star become distorted and corrupted with impurities, misconceptions and misperceptions in self-grasping and self-will, and the play of desire and fear born of the ignorance, the illusion of separation. Thus, the Holy Light and the primordial elements of consciousness abide in innate purity, as do the inner aspects of our soul, but through impure mentalities of self-grasping and self-will there is an arising in impurity, and therefore the reality of our experience, the radiant or magical display of our mind, manifests in impurity – the vision of ignorance, karmic vision. Thus, souls look, but do not see, listen, but do not hear, Reality as It Is, or God as God Is; they “see” and “hear” through the filters of their mentality, their self-cherishing, attachments and aversions.
In this, perhaps, you may understand why baptism, a rite of purification, is essential in our Initiation, and likewise why my beloved tzaddik taught, “The essence of self-realization, or the entire spiritual journey, is self-purification.”
In terms of the interior stars arising in impurity or purity, as manifestation of the klippot or Sefirot, remember what is taught in the oral tradition concerning the reception of Mirya of Magdala by the Lord, that he exorcised seven demons from within her, and established seven angels in their place, and likewise, before taking her into the wilderness to teach and initiate her in private, two disciples were charged with baptizing her, enacting a rite of purification with her, opening the way for her anointing and reception. This, of course, is a teaching concerning this mystery, and corresponds with our need to purify ourselves of impure mentalities, first those of gross impurity, and then those of subtle impurity. God help us in this labor of cleansing and sanctifying ourselves!
What transpires when we are purified of impure mentalities, or impure worldviews, Adonai Yeshua speaks very clearly: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God” (Matthew 5:8). Interestingly enough, this Beatitude corresponds with the brow star, which is said to be the seat of our holy neshamah, our heavenly and supernal soul; hence, a pointing to how we enter into the vision of experience (Light Transmission), which leads to Pure Vision – the Vision of Enlightenment, or the Great Vision of Melchizedek.
What we are discussing here is an important teaching for advanced initiates, or senior companions, and for lineage-holders, all who are laboring for a full self-generation and self-realization in the Messiah within this lifetime; for our initial spiritual awakening is in impurity, more or less, and in our process of bringing our spiritual awakening to maturation and fruition, there is a need to recognize, and purify, increasingly subtler manifestations of impure mentalities until, indeed, our heart is pure and we can look and seek Reality as It Is and God as God Is – hence, the arising of the Great Vision and breakthrough into Supernal or Messianic Consciousness.
This process of an ongoing self-purification is very interesting, for as we purify ourselves of gross and subtle impure mentalities, how we hear the teachings of the Gospel and Holy Kabbalah, or the Living Word and Wisdom of God, will be very different; our knowledge and understanding of the teachings will go through radical transformations and evolutions – in effect it will be as though entirely new teachings and revelations are received, another Gospel and Kabbalah than we were able to see and hear before will emerge.
As we progress in the Way, the Gospel, it is good to remember this as we receive instructions and guidance from our tzaddik, for at times they will share reflections and give guidance from a very different mentality than our own, a very different vision than our own, and in faith and love we are wise to try to listen and hear their guidance, and follow it, even when we are not immediately able to look and see, listen and hear, exactly what they are seeing and hearing, and know. At the outset, reflections of gross impure mentalities are relatively easy to point out and relatively easy to see if we desire to hear the pointing out and are willing to see them, but the subtler impure mentalities are not so easy to hear pointed out or see, even if we wish to see and hear. Remembering this, it is important to contemplate the instructions and guidance of our tzaddik, and to prayer and meditate upon them, and seek to follow them, so that we might see and hear, and know, and realize our inner tzaddik and the Messiah indwelling us.
Now, here we can share something concerning the deeper wisdom in this secret commandment. The Transcendent Star, or the True Star that Messiah Yeshua teaches his disciples to follow, that Holy Star corresponds with the infinite and exhaustless potential of the Spark of the Divine (yechidah) that is the inmost aspect of our soul, and the Supernal Light, or Supernal Force, of that Holy Spark (hayyah); hence, this Holy Star corresponds with our being in the Supernal Universe, or the World-To-Come. The holy and enlightened ones, or perfect tzaddikim, who enter into Supernal Realization are able to rest in that “Nest,” and are able to run and return, or “fly out” from it and return to repose in it; hence, a conscious repose and movement in unification with the Messiah and El Elyon, or the Divine I Am (Eheieh). As we know, very little is spoken in our Christian Kabbalah of this Holy Star, or the experience of the Supernal Universe that corresponds with it, for the Habad of Atzilut and Adam Kadmon (Yichud) is makifin in This World. Thus, pointing at this true Mochin Gadlut of the Transcendent Star (Supernals), or hinting at it, what is spoken about is the seven interior stars, the reception of the Holy Light from above and the awakening of the serpent power; hence, the mother bird is “left behind,” while the fledglings or eggs are “gathered in” – the mother bird is not spoken about, but the fledglings or eggs are!
Joined with teachings on the generation of the body of light, the reception of the Holy Light from above, generation of the interior stars and awakening of the serpent power, of course, there is an ongoing energetic transmission, or Light Transmission, through the person of our tzaddik, that sparks and nourishes this awakening of our energetic being, our soul, and that may facilitate the direct experience of this Holy Star, or true Mochin Gadlut – Supernal or Messianic Consciousness. The Truth (Amet) of this Mochin Gadlut (Big Mentality) is makifin, and cannot be spoken in This World, but souls can enter into direct experience of it while, as yet, in This World, and something of this Light-presence and Light-power can be embodied, and when it is embodied, it transmits or communicates itself in This World, drawing souls into direct experience of the Supernal Universe or World-To-Come (the true kingdom of heaven); hence, leading them in a return to God, or full reintegration with the Light Continuum, Yahweh.
At the outset, when it is said that the Kingdom of Heaven is within and all around us we have many concepts and vital sentiments about the “Kingdom of Heaven,” or “Kingdom of God” – conceptions born of impure mentalities; the more we enter into direct experience of Malkut of Atzilut, or Shekinah of the Messiah, however, the more our mentalities are purified, and the more true knowledge, understanding and wisdom we will have of the Kingdom of Heaven and its righteousness (tzaddikim, maggidim), and how to do well in our service to the Kingdom of Heaven and God, the True Light. To this end, we strive first for the Kingdom of God and its righteousness, understanding that in this way we will embody the Light-presence and Light-power, and “it will go well with us,” everything we need being given to us, or accomplished for us, by Divine Grace.
Of one who comes in with this Supernal Anointing (Messiah) it is written in Isaiah, “The Spirit of Yahweh shall rest upon him, the Spirit of Hokmah and Binah, the Spirit of Hesed and Gevurah, the Spirit of Da’at and the Pachad (or Ahava) of Yahweh. His delight shall be in the Pachad (or Ahava) of Yahweh” – or the zeal of Yahweh, the Light Continuum (11:2-3).
This is corresponds realization of the Anointed Tzaddik, or Gnostic Apostle, and is the noble ideal of Anointed Community; hence, to embody the Spirit of the Messiah, Ruach Elohim, Ruach Yahweh, in full, and so experience full reintegration with the Light Continuum (Yahweh, Yeshua).
